howdy guys :-) I've seen a lot of post in the past, some have been extremely funny, some sad, some angry, now here's one that kind falls somewhere in between all of those, the other day I hooked up one of my Dodge Rams " I have 3 of them " to the girlfriends horse trailer brought it up to the ban and the T man and I loaded up all the recycling and we were inside the barn looking to see if there was anything else we could put in when we heard some gates rattling, we went outside to see the truck and trailer rolling down the road towards a house, it ended up side swiping the house and hitting a bunch of Corrales gates before coming to this resting spot, it smash the windows, the grill the lights the hood and fenders. this one of those darn things that you just shake your head and you wonder why i didnt set the break, i keep wheel chocks in all my trucks, no one was hurt so I guess its all good or could have been much worse, l love that old truck tho, I call it the sleeper cause its a little over 550 HP .

Kemer,

Had something very similar happen with 1976 F150. Was at my wife's (then girl friend) parents house at the beach. The house is at the top of a sand dune with a crazy inclined driveway. Parked at the top, turned off the engine, put it in gear (old 3 on the tree style transmission), applied e-brake and went inside. A few minutes later we hear this high pitched whine outside. Look out the window and there goes my truck! Straight for the house on stilts across the street and at the bottom of the dune. I'm thinking if the house doesn't stop it, Bogue Sound surely will! I took of for the back porch ran, straight through the screen on the sliding door, leaving a cartoonish Gary shaped hole and down the outside stairs, just in time to see it take a hard left off the drive. 2 pine tree and a side mirror later it stopped. I hopped in, still in gear, brake still on, but gravity won. Drove it right out of the woods and parked the bottom of the hill. Scared the bejeezus outta me though!

Here's a pic of the old truck when PawPaw owned it. It was handed down to me by my dad. No joke. That's my grandfather...

You most certainly are a M.O.M, Strikes! Not to worry, bub. We'll be implementing the No M.O.M Left Behind program. If history is any indicator that means we'll all be equally screwed.

That is a really cool picture, so is that a crocodile or a alligator? I'm going to try to post my truck pictures again using a different device , the only reason I didn't set the parking break was as I was backing up and the goose neck trailer frame came in contact with the truck box so I stopped there and got out to look, well I thought it would hit it again on the way out so I said close enough and never went back to the truck, the darn thing could have started rolling with my son and I in it.... would have been some WHITE in the eye balls visible then I bet lol. anyway trying pic s again .... nope won't let me do... crud !!

Here's a funny story for you all

Several years ago while a flight instructor I had a student who was extremely good. He could fly, take off, do all the stalls, navigate, fly on instruments, you name it he could do it except one thing, HE COULD NOT LAND. i tried everything but could not get the concept of landing.

One day i had a bright ideal, i told Hawthorne tower (5 miles from lax) that we were going to park at the end of the runway, get out, and stand along the side about 20 feet from where the planes would touch down. I thought that if he could see and visualize close up how the plane would flare and touch down that it may help him.

The very first plane was coming, i told him to watch the flare and touch down, the plane kept coming nose down, any minute now i told him the plane should start to flare. The plane kept coming, never flared and nose dived unto the runway just feet from us,

The plane ended up straight up on its nose, we helped the two occupants out, they were not injured, fire trucks then came.

My excellent student never flew again, in fact i never even saw him again.

I have this problem if i use a picture directly from my camera. What I do is take a screenshot of the photo, then post the screenshot and it works. Hope this helps

It's a gator. We're not exactly the glades or bayou, but we have em here in coastal Carolina. A little over a week ago they had to kill a 12 footer in my home town after it ate some lady's husky. I guess it had gotten too cocky and started coming into people's yards. Kind of a shame really. He was certainly more a "local" than any of us.

I had a few close encounters growing up. Several times swimming in the canals or creek, I got out to see one on the bank or surface right where I was swimming. I even have had a 10 footer go under and ram my canoe once. Scared the bejeezus outta me. I didn't know I could get that low in a canoe. To be fair, I did come on it pretty fast (and quiet). I always assumed it was mama with eggs or young near by. That's the only time I've seen one act aggressively unprovoked.

Speaking of big critters... I mentioned earlier that we saw a cougar. Really, a friggin mountain lion! We were going out to dinner one night at the lake. The stupid GPS took us down a gravel road through a heavily wooded area. Did I mention the place we stayed isn't it the middle of nowhere? But you can see it from there! Anyway, we came around a bend and saw something big sitting in the road. It was maybe 20-30 yards away, maybe a little more, but not more than 50 yards. The wife asks, " is that a dog?" I was about to say I didn't know when it stood up. It was 3 to 3 1/2 feet tall at the shoulders. Then the tail came around and I knew it wasn't a dog. The tail was as long as the body. Altogether from nose to tail it was 8-9 feet long. It then leaped into the woods in 2 or 3 bounds. That's when I knew it was a cat. The sun was going down, but I could make out the brown body and black at the end of the tail. I said, "That ain't no dog! It's a damn lynx, I mean bobcat, I mean panther! A COUGAR!" I was so excited I couldn't think what to call it.

I knew they were indigenous to NC, but looked it up anyway. According to the NC wildlife commission, they've been officially extinct in NC since around 1900, but sightings are still reported. Current day sightings are believed to be misidentifications or illegally released animals. I don't care! It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The area is full of cool animals. We saw otters, scores of wild turkeys, ospreys, bald eagles, some other brown eagle/hawk as big as the baldies, but the cougar was truly amazing.

I love the place and think the wife has decided we need to start shopping for property.

Is it any wonder I love this kid?

ATTENTION ALL M.O.Ms

Before Monday's update I'll need a couple things from you:

1 - Restore your original name. If I understand the new squad related update correctly, I'm going to have to input each M.O.M into the in-game squad individually. I'll be using the roster on Page 1. Whatever name you're flying as now, change it back to the in-game name listed on the roster. The update will allow the in-game database to recognize squad affiliations...the only way Squad Wars could logically work. if you're flying as a different name, you won't be recognized as a M.O.M.

2 - Install Monday's update asap. If you don't install it, you won't be in M.O.M. (as far as the new in-game code/database will be concerned) I know a lot of you are gun shy about early adoption of updates. This needs to be the exception. If you don't accept v.4.4.34 you may be excluded from rejoining the squad.

Some of this is my guesswork, I haven't been pestering Joaquin for details while he's up to his neck in making this major revision happen. But however the new game and squad structure work, we will definitely all need to be playing the new version.

As I learn anything new I'll pass it along.

Hey PH what part of NC were you visiting, I'm trying to get there next spring or summer and I would love to spot a big cat in the wild, or at least try. I've been promised the possibility of bears and funny lights in the mountains!
