Hmmmm..... I don't know Wiggums.. Losing the tag is kinda slimming. I feel more streamlined. Added to the fact that the unsuspecting reds aren't warned of their imminent destruction by the HUGE M.O.M flying over head, my games seemed to have improved.

I'll have to think this over.... Which do I prefer... The oh so desirable Paul Mantz like physique or enemy throwing theirselves in to the ground at the sight of the squad tag....

Paul. Good try with the winged wheels, sorry the bike cant have arm bands or something. Think about speaking wi a local paragliding school...? They are less fancy, not needing the boat or the water to get airtime. I've seen images of paraglider pilots on bikes, who knows, chase that dream old bean!

Kman. Look up on amazon a book called 'Touching Cloud Base'. If your serious about using your local hills, here are some tips...

Hang gliders need minimum wind speeds (ground speed) of about 19 m.p.h. They are heavy and cumbersome to heave back up the hill each time you land at the bottom (while your learning anyhow). They take a while to rig and de rig. Are harder to master. They have a greater glide angle.

Paragliders can glide top to bottom in zero wind, giving you good conditions to learn the basics without dramas. They pack down into a ruck sack for carrying and are easier to learn on. Rigging is easy to understand and takes little time. They have a shorter glide angle.

Both scare the crap out of any live stock below.
The wind direction has to be bang onto the hill face. What is your prevailing direction usually?
You need patients. Often the wind will change direction or speed and flying becomes quickly restricted.
Your hills need to be free from obstructions like trees, buildings or valley features to avoid down drafts (rotor) and turbulence.

I learned to fly one from the book I mentioned, in the 1990's. it's proper fun and if I had my own hills, the air space would be all mine!
Good luck either way, the sensation of being lifted off the ground for the first time is magic.

Maybe locate a paragliding school near you for a taster day, they may have decent second hand wings for sale... If not, do what I did, follow the book!

Played a couple of games over the weekend, shot a 12 volt battery thinking it was the electrician guy or the magician who made all the red bases disappear. Then tagged along with the portable battery and his com-padre in Arms Blue for a couple of real quick wins. Thanks guys that was a lot of fun.

Then last night decided with all the lag to give another shot at a couple of games and ended up in a BTC with Yemexeerrss.

It was he and I and a couple of other blues against the big red wall. Yemx tanks their carrier down to about 70% when our teammate mistakenly takes him out and red wall flows in. Game goes on for a bit, Mr. Clay God himself shows up as red, and the wall becomes even tougher. No one is getting any hits on our carrier(it is at 100%) and our side is not making any further dents in their's.

So I go down in of those quick double taps, Yup, you gussedd it, I fubared it to the quit button. I try getting back into game as quick as I can, I have a really great shot at doing this now since the middle server is down. It takes me what seems like an eternity to get back into game, guess which side I come in at, Yup, you guessed it , Uggghhh, I say. Took me a long time to find this game, so I am afraid to loose the game that I was in. I take a peak at the sides, all even, so I proceed with Clay et al now to attack my old side. Both carriers at same percentage as when I left. Theirs at 90%, ours is at 60% or 50%.

So on the attack we go, bam bam bam bam, get hit , I get into tank, another teammate gets shot goes into tank. We are now pounding their carrier, clay is shooting the reds which are trying to get us in the tanks after he dropped a whopper on their carrier. All of a sudden I read Yemx bomb carrier in red, I am like ahh who cares, one bomb we still have 40% or 30% left. We get their carrier down to about 40, then 30%, then 20%, see Yemx bomb carrier, I am like what the??

Ohh scheit, he is in a tank, now it down to the wire, we have them down to 20%, I am like we can do this, then I see Yemx bomb carrier roll like credits....

I always wondered why i can't get a tank to move like that. They can zig-zag and move like a bat out of you know where. As for me i go 10 feet and I'm usually nailed.

Well that was all you. I couldn't hit a thing head-to-head. Need to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Stability wasn't the issue...just sighting incorrectly I guess.

That noblegas dude was weird. Had to chop the engine and wait to time his next move right and hope he flies into the tracers (although it seemed like most of the time he did but I didn't get the kill). Would have been an easier game but we kept going against all of the ex-MOM pilots.

Also, I can't remember the number of times I hit red only to see that you already had the kill. Quite annoying!

100% agree. Not sure how they do it as of late the tanks respond so slow that it stores up all of the extra moves. So, after a few seconds my tank looks like it's being controlled by someone else. Hate these servers!

NEW UPDATE AS OF...NOW!

Joaquin has just updated the Squad Owner controls allowing us to uncheck "invitation only" and open the squad for existing members to re-join.

Accept the update just published, look for a "Join Squad" (or words to that effect) option...you may have to prowl around a bit or it may be right in your face...then select M.O.M from the list. I assume the necessary steps will be obvious. That should be all you need to do to get back into the squad and into the newly revamped database.

I still don't know about Android/Apple release timing. Joaquin's been working on this for days, it's midnight in Milan, the poor guy needs to put the thing down and get some sleep. I'll get more details as I can and pass 'em along.
