Jack those advice are really good.
I'll tell you a story.
When I was
13 23

Me and some friends were going to a disco. We had got a hold of some alcohol and thought it was cool. We couldn't smuggle it with us in so we hade to either drink it or leav it.
Of course we drank it.
Some drank more than others. This was in the winter and we hade to walk 3km to get there.
He who drank the most started to have trouble to walk half way. Him me and one other frien where left behind.
He fell numerous times in the snow. We tried to help him but then he passed out. We tried to wake him up but he didn't respond to anything.
To our luck he hade passed out just a few meters from a phone booth.
We tried 5 TIMES!!! to call an ambulance.
The didn't believe us. They thought it was a prank.
Then some people from the disco came looking for us, wondering why we didn't show up at the disco.
One of them hade seen a police car a few blocks away and whent to get them as soon he heard what hade happend.
The police came, they tossed him in the backseat and drove of with the sirens on.
They hade to perform cpr on the way to the hospital.
His heart stopped 3 times on the way.
He hade a very low body temperature and was alcohol poisoned.
He would have died that night if we hadn't managed to get him help.
That was the first time I drank alcohol and I learned more than one lesson about alcohol.
I didn't go to the disco.
I went home and told my parents what had happened, and the next day I went to the hospital to see my friend.
I guess he was either to stupid or to drunk to learn something. I didn't keep him as a friend and have no idea how he is today or if he is alive.
It hasn't made me not to drink at all, but it taught me to respect the dangers and to drink responsible.
I like whiskey but I usually don't drink more then 4-8cl in one evening, and when I do drink alcohol I NEVER drive until the next day.
I have talked to my son about alcohol and made it clear to him that even if I don't like him to drink he have nothing to fear coming home, and that I will come and get him if he can't get home by himself.
I don't want him falling asleep in the snow waiting to sober up before going home.
