Hey you guys, I've been remiss in passing along this here anecdote. I promised to post it then it slipped through one of the cracks in my head.
I finally had my first encounter with this "Shinto" screwball. First M.O.M Shinto, some sort of weak explanation about "M.O.M" representing a Hindu phrase, then the name changed to Mother Shinto and word that the tag had been dropped...at which point I guess we were satisfied to drop the matter.
Well then there...about 48 hours ago I entered a mission and here's our bosom chum Mother Shinto in red! I flies across the map I does, and what do my wondering eyes behold? Mother Shinto...with M.O.M over his/her idiot head.
W - Mother Shinto, drop the M.O.M tag please.
MS - You'll have to speak more clearly, then perhaps I'll answer you question,
W - It wasn't a question. Please lose the tag.
MS - Why? Because you say so? Who do you think you are?
W - Well, I made up the name M.O.M and I'm one of the original members. Good enough?
MS - Not really. But go ahead and ask your question.
W - You are not in M.O.M. You're unauthorized to fly our tag. Remove it.
MS - I was invited. But I don't care to join, You're all quite rude.
W - Rude to tell you to drop a stolen tag?
MS - It isn't stolen, I am a member.
W - No, you are not.
MS - There are those accusations again.
W - I'm about to accurately accuse you of having been banned for tag theft and being a wiseass.
MS - More rudeness and accusations. But fine, what is your question?
W - You're stealing a tag for a squad you claim not to want to join. Drop it. NOW.
MS - You can't tell me what to do. .
W - It's more of an invitation: remove the tag, stop mouthing off, and enjoy being banned.
At which point I freely abused my Moderator power and banned the supercilious little ponce. Was I wrong? Of course. Do I care? Not a bit.
We, The NLR, Enigma, The Falcons, The Black Eagles and all the squads put thought, time and energy into creating, maintaining and growing these clubs. We're meticulous about who we invite to join and who we don't. Members represent not only themselves but the entire squad. We attend to our memberships with care. And Mother Shinto is about as M.O.M as the mouthy man in the flippin' moon. If I may be so rude.
In short...when you see the now un-banned Mother Shinto with our tag, kindly blow his/her face off, red or blue. Then, if you like, "you may ask your question". You rude, accusatory bastard you.
