I find it to be an excellent counter to the sniper. While they are so busy trying to get a bead on you, you're rapidly closing the gap, and by the time that you merge, they're not in position to counter you.
I avoid the head ons at all cost if possible. As I begin my loop, I cut my throttle to avoid the overshoot, and then check to see where my target is when I am at the top of my loop. Whichever way they turn as we passed head on, they are most likely going to be heading in that same direction. I then apply some throttle as I finish the loop (descending) and roll behind them, just enouogh to allow me to stay behind them, but I wait until I'm close enough to not miss when I fire. I know many people live and die by the head on shot, and some are quite deadly at it, but of all the aces in the Top 100, only four have less deads than I do.
MUCH HARDER to do when chuffing along a bomb!
