Now, this Shirley bitness... About 33 years ago, when Paul, Wig and Bopes were youngish, they had an incident. Luckily, the Kopf was there to catch it on camera. So to set the scene, you see Paul left his post for coffee as he is known to do. And he left a blow-up doll in his place (not that kind of blow up doll). Bopes is hanging out in the cockpit inexplicably, and Wig comes in. For those wondering, dogss is in the cargo hold in his crate.

I've spent a little while trying to word this and still don't know if I've got it right.
As a member of our SC, I want to apologise for a joke that in my opinion was a bad one, the so called revolution. It has left a bad feeling with me, it has caused Paul to resign from the SC and the squad, it led to insulting and bullying of some squad members, ie Richy, Parrot and Ka5ey, I'm not sure who else, or who else felt bad about the whole thing, it was meant to be joke, but it obviously hurt and upset a few of you, so on my own behalf I would like to apologise. I'm not sure how this will go down with other members of the SC, but quite frankly if they don't like it, or feel the need to make apology, then I would say be damned and myself leave both the SC and the squad.
At least I've cleared my conscience of it.

Muck, I appreciate the sentiment. Personally, I don't feel bullyied. Still got my lunch money and everything! I have gotten some WTF? PMs from some if the newer guys and I'll say the same thing here. It's all M.O.M fun. Some guys aren't sure how to take somebody like Dogss (from behind, duh! ), but my feathers are fine, not ruffled at all. If I ever thought it wasn't all in fun I would leave.

As a real MOM Member, and as a brit, you are a gentleman. But, being you a SC member, could you please ask Dogss to apologise himself, in public, in a humble manner, to all his rudeness against RichyRoo and Ka5ey? He didn't offend me, perhaps he isn't even aware of my existence; and I am not Ka5ey or RichyRoo's lawier, and they didn't ask me to write this - they don't even know until now that I am going to do it... But the fact that Paul Mantz quit MOM pissed me off! And everybody knows why he did it!

PH, appreciate your open mindedness about diversity in humor. I also want to chime in with Muck and Martin with an apology for a late response to a mis-fired attempt at humor. Paul, Richy, Kasey, PH, for whatever reason this got aimed toward each of you to some degree...not right, and understandable if you took offense. I hope you each accept my apology and my hope that we can all continue as MOMs who play for fun, enjoy each other's company, and realize that for many of us this is a partial escape from life's BS... In a digital world, flying and killing each other is entertainment. Abusive BS we can get on a playground or a job is no escape... I too am an early member of MOM, but that makes me no better or worse than anyone else here. Let me know, and I'll step down from the SC yesterday if you all prefer a different voice in that chamber.

You have every right to tell the SC what you think. It was not intended to be a leadership That's my understanding. Before I begin, please say a prayer for Rick (WIG).

We have a wonderful family dynamic going here. Many different and charismatic personalities that encompass all the different members of most families.
We have a father (WIG), a mother (M.O.M wives), sons (Prodigies), brothers (all of you), a sister (MS.LUNA), and a crazy uncle (me). We can fuss and fight, yet still care for each other.

However, recently a dog came back from the pound with an attitude and un-house trained. He crapped on the couch and few cared, it seemed.
It started in the SC. He immediately began insulting the above family members with vulgarity. He wanted to kick many of you to the curb.
The squad grew tremendously, too quickly. The focus of most was "Oh! Another high-ranking pilot wants in." People were inviting everyone to come to a family meal while knowing nothing about them. Thus, the SC was set-up to have a little control over who got past the front door. Forum participation wasn't really a priority. My feeling has always been is that everyone can achieve a higher rank with time, not skill (I am THE prime example). The points system provides for this. The forum is the driving force to success and fun.
We had discussed ways to get control of the situation. Ways to get the forum active and relieve those that don't fly and never add anything to the pleasures of dinner conversation of their current active status.

Then, the "REVOLUTION".

A joke (?) that was never clear to me where the humor would be.
The insults from dog began. "That's just Joe, it's his style."
BULL-CRAP! If crude, classless, vulgar insults about people you don't know, and especially family members, is style, I am way too old fashioned. I grew up to show respect.

The apologies to me are un-needed. I have never been upset with the SC. Frustrated? Yes. When no-one else stood up for the insulted (they didn't know it) I resigned.

My conditions for returning are simple and have been presented to the SC:
A public apology from Joe to those he insulted (even if they didn't know all of what he said).
A private apology to me from Joe for things and insinuations that were made.
Or his immediate removal from the SC and the squad.

Dogss can speak for himself if he wants. And those whom he may have offended can do the same. But do we really need all these "I quit" declarations and ultimatums? How is that any more mature than the conduct you so dramatically condemn?

Bopes, there is a world of difference, a very subtle world of difference between what Paul does and what recently happened. The dry, the sarcastic humour Paul uses is not used to laugh at, but to laugh with. It's a very fine and vert subtle line and Paul manages to walk it like well balanced juggler. Would that we all could. Perhaps also one of the problems was that to many here dogss was an unknown, almost an outsider, he never gave anyone the chance to know or gauge his brand of fun.

That's fine Muck we can argue the finer points of humor all we want but I'd rather not do it under the emotional gun of someone either always quitting, threatening to quit or demanding certain either-or conditions as prerequisite to un-quitting. That in my opinion does not promote any chance of meaningful dialogue and only gets everyone's backs up even further.

For those who don't know me Thats goes for you to Doggs, I have only been playing for no more than a month, due to husband playing on here all the time and I thought if I can't beat him, I'll join him so that's what I did.... I started playing DOGFIGHT to be closer to my husband (take that how you wish) I am still getting to grips on on who is who in flight and on the forum and I am sure it will take me a little bit longer. Like others who have just started to play.

but to be honest if you (Dogs) had come on the forum after such a long time from being away and just told other users and more importantly other New M.O.Ms who you are on the forum (co-founder) and how to take your "humor". Humor is subjective. To a world-wide audience, even more so.
Thought and consideration go into each post. I have no desire to hurt anyone. I do my best to make my posts more than "lol lol lol" posts which used to dominate the forum.
I am still new to this and will make mistakes.

However, you know what was happening and what was said about people in SC. How would you feel if it was about you and your friends didn't stand up for you?

Leaving the squad is the only leverage available after all other options have been expended. It not an easy conclusion to come to.

As I have said before, if someone feels uncomfortable with something I have said or done, I will delete ASAP. And I have done just that. Once. When 1 person objected. Did it cause public controversy? I don't believe so. Have I made personal running verbal attacks on anyone? Never.

The M.O.M thread was for we adults to share, jab, poke, prod, tease, laugh and cry together. That's what I thought. I put anything remotely grown-up, optional to viewer, by placing behind the extra tab.

I will continue to dramatically condemn vulgar name calling and extreme attacks of such a personal nature. If this makes me immature, so be it.

How can you call imature someone that simply choses to not be in the same room as someone that shows himself rude and brute?? What's worse: whine and "rage quiting", or bullying people for no reason?? NO REASON!!
Yes, you can call my banner, RichyRoo's avatar or Pauls text "dramatic", but what's worse: being dramatic, or being an a******? Perhaps Paul, RichyRoo, me and many others aren't "mean" enough to wear MOM tag; if so, Dogss could simply SAY it, maybe through PM, instead of pissing of, instead of bullying around.

Although I am at Paul's side, I don't follow him about "kicking Dogss out of SC or squad" (in fact, we need "Mean" members to grant the balance); but I believe that Dogss owes some people PUBLIC apologies. If you, SC members, don't have the guts to convince the dog to write a simple "I AM VERY SORRY", what a shame...

But, at least, he stoped barking, and I like MOM squad too much to take this break much longer. In a matter of time, I will drop this ugly banner and will ask for my blue banner again (Wig's one)... But for now, I am still waiting some apologies fro Dogss. Not to me, but to the ones he bullyed.
