I absolutely agree with you! Just like Paul's Pics say a thousand words and are worded in such a clever way the meaning is cleverly transfixed/transposed to you.

Ped, I came to this country in 1979 and it took me quite some time to get used to those sayings and their meanings. I still to this day come across certain sayings and I am perplexed by them. I often, still mix the phrases up and often make up my own and people look at me like I am from Mars.

Goose step, refers to a type of marching. Watch old film of Russian or German soldiers marching. It means that we don't just keep in step because we are all part of the same group. If something smells fishy, we are going to call it out, not just accept it.

BS refers to bull poo. Just an abbreviation.

Plus one karma for you.

Thanks, PH. If you meant that euphemisms could make language "ridiculous", I disagree; they add spice in texts and in conversations, as many other language tricks do (I don't know how to say it in English, but in Portuguese these "tricks" are called "Figuras de Linguagem" - Language Figures, in English, I guess - am I right?)
But feel free to laugh and having fun with my "engrich"! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

PED: My post was in response to a post on another squad's thread that if ANYONE in the DF community has a complaint about a member of their squad, should report to THEM via PM (not on the forum, hence, the "B.S. cover-up". It was directed to all M.O.Ms. WE DON'T TAKE ORDERS FROM ANOTHER SQUAD.

"Turkey-trot" has several meanings, one of which is a dance.
M.O.Ms don't dance to another squad's tune. Especially, when the band is so out of tune.
"Goose-step" refers to a peculiar marching style that came to the forefront in the public's awareness in WW2.

(I couldn't find a real goose-stepping goose. Besides, this "turkey" was much more in context.)

It's all "water under the Bridge" Over Troubled Waters".
(Good tune, by the way.)

Geez, this world is really huge!
In fact, here in Brazil, people from distant, different places (Amazonia, Pampas Gauchos, Nordeste, etc.) need to speak slow when talking each other. Theere are many differences, and the same thing sometimes have different names...
I imagine I will need luck indeed, Sheibe!

Just to sum to the "blacklist" post I wrote in the previous page, (sorry, Paul), I need to register one more: his name is Lugar.

I entered in a BTC game when my ship had only 30%, and red ship had 90%. Me an two other blues, against 5 reds - one of them Lugar.
Probably by reading my name, he deduced that I could be brazilian, so he asked me about it. After my answer, he begun to yell "Macaco!" each time I was brought down. And he kept calling me "Macaco" and "Macaquito", and by this "ito" in the end of the word, I discovered he was Spanigh speaker (in portuguese, there is no "ito"; we use "inho" instead). And for the way he was trying to mess with me with the word Macaco (Monkey, in Portuguese), I deduced that he could probably be an argentinian. That's because, unfortunately, poor minded brazilian and poor minded argentinian uses to be rude with each other, and use to make racial jokes, etc - historical rivaltry that grew up after Pelé and Maradona... lol

The reds kept putting us on flame, and the score reached 90-10, when the game became a 4 reds versus 4 blue battle. From then on, we begun to bring their ship down quickly. When the score reached 30-10, and when blue team was pushing hard, this racist showed himself a coward too, because he just said "bye, Macaco" and left the game. We managed to win that session, by the way. How I wish that scum were present to see that... sigh...

I am not complaining about being called "macaco", and I didn't even answered him - I just ignored him. I am 43, and I laugh with these things. But what if he was talking that way with a black or "mulato" little brazilian boy???

So, if some Lugar ever asks for MOM subscription, please, Starchamber members, give him a big NO!
And if some argentinian asks for the same, first be sure that is not him! (he can be a spanish, or someone from Uruguay, or Paraguay, who knows...)

I took the RED PILL!

No, Paul, no way I would take you wrong! Im your fan!

I just asked some things to clear out some language issues.

By the way, today I saw how big is this squad!!!!! I met a player whos ingame name I don't remember right now, but as soon as he logged in, he said "Hi Ped!!! I am Icarus!"

And when I saw he was wearing MOM tag, I became curious, because I participate a lot on this forum and never, ever, heard of him... So, I asked: "r u a MOM?" - what I regreated doing, by the way - I should be more polite with him... So, if yuo are reading this, Icarus, please accept my appologies!

1 what do you like about MOM
Everyone can look for and find a punch line in everything

2. Quality or quantity
Any game to where the opposition says KA5EY and that team was tough. Don't care about kills hangars ships or reads

3. Facorite MOM???

Big Tex helped me a bunch when I was brand new
Parrothead. Got me in here
YEMX has my vote
He is what I think you all want a MOM to be

He tells me all the time thank you so much you miserable mother f*cking son of a b*tch and then he kills me in my chute. (Rule9)

I hate to vote for anyone honestly because I haven't had the privilege of playing around you guys as much as some.

That's my vote as of tonight before the deadline.
If YEMX shoots me down again I might blacklist him;).
