I do not buy your objections for this reason. You are approaching this idea from a mission win scenario, which is not how we play the game. Game etiquette prohibits a mission winning mindset. As an example, in a BTB game a mission win focus would flow as follows. Half the team would immediately drop bombs and provide escort to the other half of bombers. Once at the enemy base, they would camp and spawn kill to allow the bombers to reload and return. Tanks would be viewed as principle assets since they can destroy 8 hangars in the same time a plane can hit 2 (assuming the one bomb take out 2 hangars). IN a CTC game, spawn killing and air supremacy would be a primary focus at the red base.

We do not play the game this way. We value honor, sportsmanship, and skill. The ability to deliver a bomb, fire on the zep, or anything else depends on your ability to stay alive in the combat zone. Your ability to stay alive is a mix of situational awareness, long shooting, and dogfighting. I think KDR is a superb measure IF people are following the etiquette and not bomb dropping, spawn killing, or other nefarious acts. Just my $.02. God knows it don't buy much.

For those who cant take screen shots can you take a camera shot of your screen? You will only need 2 one at the start and 1 at the end.

is it possible to have a best new comer? I know that if I tried fighting against most of you I wouldnt get far for a top spot but maybe best newcomer could be in my grasp, and im sure other people would like a try at it =] is this possible ?

No im pursuing it from an entire ability in dogfight not solely plane to plane. You mention that getting a tank is not game etiquette. Thats a first. I know some amazing tankers and i wouldnt consider them dishonorable. Thats an extreme overgeneralization and kinda false. Just like there are varying degrees of ability plane to plane. So it is on tank ability zep ability and so on. Why not have these specific aspects included in overall ability? You can address in the rules of the tournament and and all concerns. You are doing here on plane to plane where you state certain things not to do. Same can be done on the original tournament agreement whip and i agreed.

I never said being in a tank was dishonorable. I said that we do not treat a tank like a game changing asset. For example, treating a tank with in hitting distance of a base like an incoming bomber and blasting people off the runway. That was my point. Sorry for the confusion.

I see. But with rules before the tournament. That can be addressed just like rules for this event that is on solely plane to plane.

To Everyone: The exact details and rules for events will be posted today. Everyone at this point only has to say they want to play. As for the rookie trophy I would say there are so many puppet accounts I cannot verify who is a true rookie and who is a puppet so the winners are the winners as I stated (not so clearly) before plain and simple.

I will also post an up to date list of players.

EDIT: I will be creating an Official Tournament thread with the info I just described. I am putting it in the Dragons section so I can moderate the topic.

Out of curiosity what makes you think I wouldn't be there?? . The Tournament will have 2 parts. A score part which has the Most Points, Most Wins, and Best KDR events and a Head to Head Battle part. The score part of Tournament will begin at 3pm Eastern on Feb 1st and end 3pm Eastern Feb 8th. Eastern Time is GMT - 5 so you will have to work out what that is for your time zone.
. . The competitors will be grouped in pairs and matching planes decided on. The competitors will come to an agreement on plane (both German and RAF) and time as soon as they can after the pairs are announced. If your opponent only has the Spad as his maximum plane then you must use the Spad also or lower. Any player who sets a time for the Head to Head battle and is more than 10 minutes late will forfeit that battle. The pair race to inflict 11 deaths on the opponent and must win by 2 or your opponent reach a total of 14 deaths. For example if you both have 10 deaths and you shoot down your opponent to give them 11 deaths you do not win. Your opponent would have to get 1 more death to bring the deaths to 10 - 12 so you win by a margin of 2. There is a 1 hour maximum for all fights in the rounds up to semi final with the winner, if max time is reached, being the one with the least deaths and if tied the best score. For the semi finals and up the time limit will be 2 hours, and 30 mins sudden death if there is a tie in number of deaths. Then if still after the 30 minutes there is still a tie we use the best kdr for that game and if still tied we use the best record in the whole tournament. The round can be either BTA, BTC, CTC, or DF. Winners proceed to the next round over and over until there is grand winner for this event. First second and third spot will be awarded Win Points of 9, 6, and 3 respectively.
. The overall winner will be the one with the most event win points. First second and third place in each event will get 3, 2, and 1 win points respectively. The head to head will give triple win points so 9, 6, and 3 Win Points. After you total all the Win Points in all events the highest total wins overall and is the Tournament Champion.
. 1. Everyone must be respectful of all players and those helping put on the tournament. Any disrespectful behavior will result in immediate disqualification.
2. To make sure the points and numbers are accurate you will have to take either a screenshot of digital photo of your screen at the start of the Tournament. I will post criteria for the screenshot to ensure it is current. For example it may be flying inverted or at 1000ft, but you will need to have this captured to have any of the score type events count.
3. To qualify for the tournament you must supply the following:

- Your In-game Name
- Your Rank

- Your Kills on the in-game player chart

I will expand the events to have more in the next one for now it's just the events listed. There is no requirement to carry a bomb I like less rules...other than no spawn killing there are no rules really.

Yeah I am working all that out now...I was hoping for a nice number but it doesn't look that way...all it means is we may need to have a few extra battles to make it all fair.

The tournament starts tomorrow! The score portion where you try to accumulate as many points and wins or have the best KDR starts 3pm Eastern on Feb 1st and end 3pm Eastern Feb 8th. OK here is how I think it will work best. I think 1 pm EST, 5pm EST and 11pm EST are good times for most people to be able to play so lets try and pick one of those times in the next 3 days for your pair. The pairings are:
