A note on this, i didn't want to be negative on WC as I think it reflects negatively on the Sqd.. Matter of fact Bro Blacky and I were on when some others were whining and shut them down, defending ZUP.. I think that was the right thing to do.. But between us wolfs im sure hoping this problem gets corrected pretty quick.. It takes around 12 min to go through all six servers and wait till you get the "I ain't work'n go away" promt.. At this point I've done it more than a couple times.. I'm ready to fly..
Let's talk about weight loss.. Kevin says he's got a few "man pounds" on him.. Guessing most of us do, so let's have a work out program..I'm not bad, but could always stand to drop five or ten.. SO.. A good way to drop some weight is with an exercise program. I'm an old runner, and can tell you from experiance that running is the best thing in the world for your cardio system but don't plan on losing weight with a running program unless your doing it anaerobicly.. (sprints) .. You have to actually burn calories... Ie sit-ups, push-ups,or old fashioned weight lifting..im also an old gym rat (was gonna be the great white dope lol) but Viper actually had the experience of leading SEAL team members in PT while he was in the Navy so will get his input and leadership for obvious reasons.
I will tell you that I just started doing my push-ups again on a regular basis and it's neat to be able to drop and do fifty.. Can I now,.NO, it's 25 tops, but that changes real fast..beIieve me I've done this before, and it dosent take long to build up doing just one or two extra a day.. If anyone is interested in this, just drop and do as many as you can, and we start from there.. Don't feel bad if you start pretty low, two years ago I was still doing them on a regular basis, and it was a "good" 50.. I stopped doing them till just a couple weeks ago and when I first started doing them again it was everything I had to do three "bad" ones.. Again adding a couple a day really does work, and in no time I jumped back to 20-25 I know from past experience that this will double in a couple months max, BUT I have to keep doing them.. So help me out and commit to doing them with me.. Will have a "virtual" gym and schedule that will keep them happening!
Viper, talk to us brother.. Excuse me, as XO you deserve respect.. Skipper is out as you know, and would correct me if I called you that, so I'm thinking either boss, or XO.. And leaning towards "XO wolf " if ok by you.. In edit.. The more I see XO Wolf the more I like it..
As always prayers for Tereca, Mindy, and James
Lets talk about weight loss. First of all I want to set the record straight. In my Navy days I was a designated "Command Fitness Leader" in more than one command. When I was deployed on the USS Enterprise I ran the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) workout sessions, along with the mandatory PT guys AKA the "Chub Club" EOD is a step below SEALS from my understanding. When I made CPO I was lucky enough to have a SEAL SCPO as the workout leader who would run us selectees through the various exercises. So I worked out with a SEAL would be accurate. Sorry for the misunderstanding Padre. The workouts were similar to Cross-fit or P90X stuff, but before that was around. Basically you are talking circuit training at a quick pace with emphasis on core building exercises. I think some of the stuff we did has been deemed not good for you... flutter kicks come to mind. In my prime I could knock out 500 4 count flutter kicks without much effort. That was 20 years ago however.
Back to weight loss. Here's an idea/suggestion. To satisfy both needs, the need to play dogfight and the need to not get fat, make a goal out of your results. For instance, lets say you play a game and get 50 kills. Before your next game, do a set of 50 jumping jacks, 50 crunches, 50 push-ups, or whatever your exercise of choice is. Naturally you will need to push yourself somewhat and if you have a low kill number, do 4 count exercises, counted "one two three ONE, one two three TWO, one two three THREE, etc. Pick more than one exercise and do different areas of your body, chest, legs, and cardio, different days. Abs can be worked daily so always put them in there.
Personally I have a whole room dedicated to circuit training stuff with a gym mat floor. However you don't need a lot of room to really get a good workout, nor s there a need for fancy equipment. Just body weight and about room enough to lie down should do it. If you want to get fancy purchase a kettle bell for core stuff.
Anyway, my suggestion is a way to get both, dogfight and working out, in the course of a day. The hardest part would be to..... and I cannot stress this enough... PUSH YOURSELF!
Remember the routine; Play, workout, play, workout. Stick to it.
