I am dying to know this, too. She (or he) is another virtually impossible head-on situation. I feel confident that it is only temporary problem, however. B)

Hello,
On the invitation of a several of your members, Dannydrooler and a couple of others, my early onset memory loss has me fumbling for exactly who, and at the ripe age of 47, I would like to submit myself for consideration of membership in your fine squadron. I play this game often, and have for nearly a year now, and always with a clean vocabulary and respect for my opponents, but I do share with this squadron a touch of an elders disdain, for the the masses of Justin Beiber lookalikes a that I am certain I am playing against, outside of the M.O.M. squadron.

Simmo wrote: Sorry to rain on the MOM parade, but hold off on the Duckwing day for a while. I promise you nothing's coming in on Jonathan Hunt through any military channels. Have any of you been contacted regarding funeral arrangements? Have any of you been given the opportunity to honour him on a family or regimental website? Does anyone know which hospital he's been in for a year? Does anyone know what big news a triple amputee who survives more than a few days is? Has anyone wondered how Jon could fly and chat on an ipad so well with one hand? Has nobody ever wondered why his sniper buddy, who stepped in the IED, was never mentioned in his posts?

I gave you the opportunity on an earlier post to tell me to piss off and mind my own business, but nobody did.

So, here goes - I'm coming to the conclusion that MOM has been cheated. Some of you are content to give Jon the benefit of the doubt, but I think our true heroes should be given that benefit. On hearing of jon's passing I posted some shit about loved ones I have lost, but now I feel foolish and compromised. I have been an Infantry Officer in the British and Australian Armies since 1984 (still serving but my knees are a bit creaky). I have been on many combat operations. I have met hundreds of real fuckin heroes, I have been a true buddy to dozens, and Sadly I have buried a few. I can't let them be dishonoured by a fraud. We must have facts. Coop, you're a military man - tell me I'm wrong.

You still have the option to shut me up. Perhaps a reverse MOM application vote is in order. I have probably said too much - gees ths scotch whiskey is good. I will never come back to the MOM thread unless invited. Over and out......

Simmo Yes..there are a lot of things that dont add up...But I have spoken to jon personally and I have no recolection of any Rank mentioned and when I asked about an MOS i never got an awswer only got 14 yrs served in army as a sniper..Most military men will be up front with there service and what they did as far as tours and other things, like mentioned by SHEBI why would he lie?? ...I dont know that awnswer again most vets wont lie about there service .I know a few vets in this squad and we talk freely about our service to this country and the things weve seen and done I will always awnser questions about my service to whomever asks..This I did find very odd... this forum is a greeat place to come and be whomever, but again like the imperial ruler said ...we are all older gentelmen who just like to sit back and spin yarns about how great we were when we were not in nursing homes and enjoy each others company....lol sorry insert rant...But I will leave you my brothers of MOM with this intel that I have found you all can choose how you wish to take it. As mentioned earlier I have a good friend in low places in the NAVY...He is with the Teams..lol his job also is a sniper..He told me that he was hard pressed to belive the whole 96 charlie kilos and the fact that there would be no record of that on the books that he could find.He also said if Jon was SPEC OPS. the 96 charlie kilos would still be documented somewhere and if he was no longer active his name would be attached to them even if he was Army Delta.Chris Kyle was the most deadly sniper to date and his name is everywhere. So I do have a hard time with this story my brothers of MOM but that doesnt mean he was not a vet. Jon WAS STILL MY FRIEND hero OR NOT i loved flying and talking with him, Soilder or not I dont care lets give him the MOM farwell he deserved being a true member of this squad.Rest In Peace Jon where ever you may be.I will not mention this anymore.

Coop, Chet,
I get it that it doesn't really matter to MOM, but this is a serious matter. Either there's a fallen hero unrecognised or there's a fruad.

When I started this game I was all about winning and points and playing the game right. Duck was just a tank spawn killing jerk that ruined the gameplay to me. He took my rude comments in stride and when he wasn't laughing at me he would remind me this was just a game. After a time I learned the game and Duck didn't spawn kill as much we mostly just said hi and went at it. I didn't know of his wounds until some time later so he got no mercy from me after all he was a tank guy and they messed it up for the flyers. After I found out about his predicament I went soft on him. Flew around him (by him was pretty dangerous) and let him be his tank. I think he didn't like that because I became his favorite target. Eventually we chatted about simple things and how he was. He could get in three shots at me as I came in for the kill and none of them ever missed by much he was an amazing tank gunner. We always laughed and it was just a fun game. I don't think either of us cared who won. We both did.
I'll miss him and thank him for teaching me not to be to serious...about a game.
For that I gave him a 21 gun salute from his mountain today and I shall remember him.
P.S. Striker 16 your a jerk for not letting me on mountain.

I am well aware of this my friend but jon never asked for anything only that we support the wounded warriors,He NEVER asked for pitty from us. I belive in my heart he was a military man you can usually tell in a mans words and how he conducts himself.Whether or not a sniper it will go to his grave with him only he knows.FRIEND he will always be to me.

Coop brings up something important. He never asked for anything and that for me is a good indicator of how real duckwing was. If you believe in you're heart that he was real hero, then honor him if not than that is your call not to. At least for these two days lets not bring up any doubts. If it does turn out that we were all conned n duped so be it. I would not want to dishonor the life of a veteran for the slight chance that it might not be real. I guess its like religion, how do you prove god. I do understand Simmo's views and it should be something that is explored later.

this is how i fly !!! :)

I used DUCK DAY for inspiraton.

I walked a mile up MT. DUCK (actually a gentle slope) without walker, crutches, or cane. As the steps got harder I said, "DUCK!" Got strange looks from my accompanying therapist. At the top of the hill, I sat in my wheelchair (my tank). Shouted, "Bang!" and raced down the hill. Agnes' twin sister couldn't keep up. I'm certain I heard her shouting encouragement, "OH! DUCK!"

Thank you Jon whoever you turn out to be.

I'm relatively old (44), and have been known on occasion to be mean. I think I would make a good addition to the team and would love the chance to join such a prestigious organization. I can say there is nothing worse than flying over a ridge and coming face to face with a wall of planes bearing the MOM insignia. (Please don't make me do that again..) I've been thinking about trying to get on with a squad for some time and MOM was at the top of the list. (the list was only 1 long). Zandor said I should check you guys out and I'm glad I did. Anyways, I should save some of my a** kissing for use at a later date. I appreciate your consideration of my request and look forward to your response. Just some info on me: I'm from the Chicago burbs, married with three little ones, a carpenter that does residential remodeling, ride a Ducati, surf Lake Michigan in the winter (no bs!), and have been lucky enough to fly a Piper Cub and Tomahawk, a Cessna 152 and172 and a T-6 Texan which is a ww2 fighter trainer. I hope I make the cut!

On a side note, everything being said about Dianne is 110% true! She flames me at least a dozen times every time I come up against her. I think I'm 1 for 50 against her :woohoo:

Jimbo has my vote. Again I ask about the mysterious Diane/Dianne. I've never seen her or even know about her until a couple of posts ago. Is she for realz?

Jimboslice and Bricksalvage both get my squeal of approval! :cheer:

Bricksalvage almost stuck the zep landing a few days ago, and today we danced in a CTC game for several minutes until neck cramps kicked in.

I've played several games with Jimboslice27 and he's been good company. And a Lake Michigan surfer dude? Let him in just for general insanity. I have a friend in Mt. Prospect who surfs Lake Michigan.

Hey Farc,
Yes sometimes people think I claim to salvage bricks just to pick up women, but no, it is true that is my line of work.

Allan, I was 90% sure you "Allan" had invited me but 10% of my brain was saying "Otto" so I didn't type it, your handle was Duckwing6 so had no means of reference. Would be proud to fly with you guys, already it is fun to fly with and against you all, and I am sure this is the squad I fit in with best.
