I guess I never learned the entire story? What I remember is that certain people from this squad created an environment (away from DF) to discuss different topics. Some of those topics were about other DF players (and probably DF management). Some of these discussions were unkind. In the end it was their discussion.

Another member of the DF community found these discussions and informed others where to find them (and/or gave them quotes from these discussions). Since some of the discussions were unkind, others took issue with them.

Is this the action that led to the removal of the moderators? I can't go back and look because it seems someone deleted all of the threads about this event.

I find it ironic that Rick is to blame (by the founder/leader of DF, no less) if that was the event. I mean do we blame the actresses who had their photos leaked with the iCloud break-in? Is Sony to blame for the leaked emails and personal information?

In the end, regardless if this was the event or not, I just want to say that I've received a lot from Rick during my time with this game and he's asked for nothing in return. He has my full support (for whatever that is worth).

I also appreciate Joaquin's efforts with this game and his passion to keep it going. It just seems Joaquin's passion could be better directed then against Rick.

Rick was the person that created that additional forum, researched and found personal info about players and posted their pictures and mock them on that place outside of DF.
Although I have no legal power neither obligations over what happened outside my forum, Wig was a global moderator at the moment.

Someone on that place came clean and posted the content on here, making the whole thing public and provoking a stir on the community. It took a while to calm things down and I had to defend Wig for weeks because people wanted his head. Wig's behavior made moderators reputation to be questioned by what happened because many players assumed this was some kind of secret list where the mods talked crap about them. It was so bad it almost forced me to shut down the forum so nobody could research on other players and get public info on them. The whole game reputation was damaged because of that idiotic behavior and he admits no blame (or just a little blame), but he blames me or the people that made it public. It was clear he could not be moderating the game after that if he held things against players in that way but I allowed him to play and keep the squad.

From that moment, he has been all but friendly towards many people, including me. But today I've read enough insulting posts from Rick and a direct email from him just made me decide to take no more of it. He is banned, something I should have done on that instance instead of giving more and more chances and looking the other way when I see some of his posts.

If someone wants to take over MOM, I'm ok with it, nobody in here is responsible for Rick's actions. I'm sure he has some private mailing list or forum where he will vent as usual. For others who don't like the drama, I'm open to continue maintaining the squad.

Recently there have been far too many who are far too fast to jump on the bandwagon of any argument going on which doesn't concern them.Its very easy to be a keyboard warrior but just takes away the fun of the game.

I'm not into drama, but some things that went on wére quite dramatic.
Most here have invested for too much energy and time playing a silly game and horse-manuring around than we justify.

It should be obvious that we really like to promote Dogfight, and wish the best for it and all have really strong opinions on how to accomplish that.

Of course Joaquín, you are the only one that decides,.......but if you ask suggestions, people tend to take that serious.
Most posts on this thread are about nothing related to this game, or about how many of us regret how it looked like this game was going to the dogs.

Personally I really think the last half year in your absence (so it seemed) the atmosphere on the chat, in the game and on the forum went steadily downhill. Did I mention the lag?

....and suddenly, 'Hey Presto!' there is this 'pay to play' thing that is supposed to make everything o.k.. (No worries,...I payed.)

Is it strange that many said their farewell to Dogfight? I am sure, many with sadness.

I do not want to know who said what........but although there is a line one should not cross........it seems clear what is the 'why'.

I beg your pardon! There is nothing in the game rules or forum rules prohibiting a free standing site for members of MOM. If there is then you must carry your ban to the Falcons, the Misfits and any other squad with a site outside of this forum.

We would be well over the 50 if we did that. For now if you want a MOM banner, best to try and knock one up yourself, just don't use the winged heart.

No, but trying to go around the system does really push the limit. And MOM members can continue as usual but if Wig is in charge at any level, in here or the background, the squad will be removed.

The way to proceed if you really want to keep MOM going is to elect a new owner and remove that MOM logo that Rick is so obsessive about that it is the first thing he asked. In fact, he sparked the whole thing when I asked him if I could use it NOT FOR PROFIT and then he began insulting me on the emails. So yeah, provoking this whole situation because of that was just stupid.

My exact 2 emails on reply to his were first about not allowing me to use his logo:
"and if it is not for a profit?"
then a very long insulting reply on his part, and my whole email:
"Sorry, I only read through half of that crap. The moment you began insulting I just stop.

Have fun."

then another 2 long emails with more insulting me and a few other players (not sure what they had to do with it but..)

So, I don't think there is a solution for him to come back neither for you guys to keep using that logo because he demands you not to use it.

So, let me know of a new owner or i'll just remove the squad which is probably what he would request.

Most of the guys want to retain the squad. As for a freestanding site, Wig is not in charge, he has relinquished all control. As for a new leader, that's something the guys have to decide on and preferably without interference from certain other parties.
