So Wig, you will have the opportunity (I hope) to attempt to finish me off with another one of your super fantastic bodacious babes banners. Well that is the big prize here isn't it.

Thanks for all the help and support members of this squad provided on my journey.

Hope you guys get tired of that tank game soon.

Congratulations, Glenn! What are the M.O.Ms gonna do for amusement now that you and Pat have wrapped up your inexorable crush toward MOMORAFdom?

Spend some quality time with a new friend, I suppose...

Enjoy your 31ness, G!

Oof

Thanks Wig, man you have a touch. Where do you all these classy babes?

Probably know what you mean......and I don't intend any disrespect.

But I spent the whole evening wondering which word you forgot to type in: "Where do you......all these classy babes?"

Because whatever word I came up with..........MAN, YOU ARE ONE LUCKY..........!

find! I left out the word find. Lol

M.O.Ms,

I've just learned that echoboom is attempting to merchandise our squad graphics and name without permission.

The M.O.M flying heart tattoo logo and the names "M.O.M" and "Mean Old Men" as well as any copy content or other M.O.M graphics were created by me, are copyrighted material of mine, and have not been authorized for use by anyone other than me.

I've informed echoboom that they need to immediately withdraw any and all of my work from their merchandising.

Hey M.O.Msters, some news:

In the wake of various shifts, shake-ups and attempted shake-downs we're making a few changes around the ol' MOModrome. Effective now, The Star Chamber has a Mac among it!

Yep, the self same Mac who got banned from this forum for speaking his mind and, I'm guessing, the minds of many of us about what a mess in a dress the Dogfight game, forum and developer have proven, is now in that spooky inner sanctum that sends Whiplashes running for their copies of Cyber Terrorism for Dummies and Beckens soiling themselves all over their intellect appropriate Underoos.

Mac is among the younger of the Mean Olds, and among the brighter of the Dogfight community he used to be of. I have every confidence that he'll contribute in a profoundly insignificant way to the not at all big decisions the SC never cares enough to make. (But yes, of course, we're secretly plotting against various assholes on this forum all the damn time, wouldn't anyone if they were we?)

Welcome to your new mundanity, Mac! Now get busy doing all the nothing we've left undone.

I'm not attempting to merchandise any of your graphics. It was an idea for squads and it so happen that Jesus began with yours. The moment your add the graphics here, it is part of Dogfight community which gives us right to use them. A flying heart has little to no copyright in any case, and I clearly stated that anyone who doesn't want to be included let me know. There was no need for your almost insulting email. As for the t-shirts, we were planning to give as many as economically flexible for free to the squadrons, but don't worry, MOM will be excluded from any of Dogfight plans from now on. We try to stay away as much as possible from any association with you personally after your behavior that caused to remove all the moderators and trouble to big part of the community. The only reason you were not banned was because of the help you provided in the past. Jesus didn't know the story and was surprised to see your "cease and desist" email since this is the squadron, not your ego representation.

With all due respect Zup.
I have done everything I could to help you in the past.
I gave you 5 stars and a good review in Google play, I was one of them who pledged (more then I really could afford), I tried my best to get others to pledge. When you asked us to promote DF and bring in new players, I was one of those who brought in most new players and how do you thank me?
By canceling my liftime prescription...

A Breach of contract is what I would call that.

Bellsaj, the lifetime subscription was to play the game. Before that, you would be completely out of the game. You are not because you paid that subscription. Now, the option is clear, there is no income to keep the servers running. So, whoever wants to pay to remove the timer can do it. The timer has nothing to do with the old subscription system which would not allow you to play at all unless paid. The other option is to shut down completely the game and forum.

As for how do I thank you... I'm keeping this game alive way more than I should as an owner. Working 20 hours a day, Monday to Monday. If it wasn't because many people did what you did, I would had shut it down and move to different more profitable projects. I do my best to keep it running at the lowest cost but I have to be realistic.

Zup, you'd really delete the M.O.M squad and thread? If your idea of getting even with Rick, even though he went above and beyond for you and the community, is to punish his squadmates, then so be it. I won't be renewing my subscription on the 15th.

No, he is just pissing me off. But if he keeps pushing the envelope it may happen. If he wants to go by cease and decease bs all MOM banners should be gone.

Nobody ever wins the bigger wiener contest. As a Mean Old Man I can say with certainty that no matter how big I prove the wiener to be, it's still not big enough.

There is not going to be a winner here. You can't have MOM without dogfight, and dogfight needs support from all of the big squads including MOM.

So let's ratchet down the rhetoric. This game is fun. I get unfun drama in real life. I don't need it here.

This business of (copyright material) on t-shirts, it shouldn't really present a problem, or be allowed to present a problem, its a case of just being polite and asking those concerned beforehand.
If it helps to generate much needed income to keep the game and the forum going, I really don't think Wig or any squad owner would have a problem with it, they just have to be asked first.
I understand the response that material posted on the forum could be seen as belonging to Echoboom, but its a legally grey area, in a way the forum belongs to all of us, Echoboom manages it on the behalf of all of us.
Zup, though you may or may not need to gain permissions, the sensible and polite thing to do, is to ask, I sure permission would be given. It also shows that you are involving all of us to some degree in the advancement of the game, it shows you care about the community here, the community you created.

Well, I agree with you that it shouldn't present a problem but there are a few things that are not the way you are portraying it.
1) Material posted on the Forum can be used since it is a Dogfight Squadron and on Dogfight Forum. The owner is whoever created the content but it can be used for anything game related.
2) The thread clearly says that if any squadron doesn't want to be included on there, just let me know. No big deal.
3) It was done all in good faith, as a gift to the community. No income is generated from it. What I pay the graphics designer to go through the forum and begin to add designs cannot be covered by the purchase of t-shirts (unless we've sold like 2000 t-shirts at triple the current price).

You see, something that could have been as simple as: hey Zup, we don't want to be there, thanks.
Turned into sending me an email and posting here like I was trying to make a profit out of Wig's design. Also mentioning how unprofessional we are and a full attack on another thread etc etc etc. So I keep it friendly but if Wig really wants me to be professional, his banner does not hold any rights because it's based on trademarks and most banners on MOM thread use famous females that I'm sure gave no permissions.

So pick, I'm professional and I don't post here, neither interact with the community and just take 'cleaning' actions pointing to rule #x. Or prefer friendly me who is not always professional but try to be understanding and make certain concessions.

Well Zup, perhaps there was some misinterpretation of your intent. I for one wouldn't see a problem in merchandising of any content in the game or forum, so long as we get some kick back from it in the form of enhanced gameplay, which would make the whole community happy and ultimately you happy, with a great game and a happy non moaning forum community. :)

Wrong. You do not have the right to reproduce and sell content simply because it's been posted on your game forum.

I have never sold images of "females" used in M.O.M banners on t-shirts or coffee mugs.

The M.O.M logo created by me was created by me. It is not "generic".

My photo is posted on this forum. Marilyn Moneoe's photo has been posted on this forum. Photos of forum users' wives and children have been posted on this forum. The Fox News logo and paintings by Andrew Harrington and Rembrandt and original poems and lyrics and comedy and people's full proper names and company names and logos have been posted on this forum and you do not have any rights to reproduce any of them on print-on-demand e-commerce merchandise.

Apparently you are missing the point here. I don't have the rights to use anything posted on the forum that you have no legal copyright or trademark permission to post. The point here is that you are NOT allowed to post the Marilyn Monroe photo, the Fox News logo or any logo you have no permission to use. Even if it is not for a profit.

Mixing any of those logos with "your" logo is a clear violation, just write Fox News or any of the top models representatives and ask. You cannot claim any ownership of anything once you've done that.

But apparently this message doesn't seem to go through: A simple polite message was enough.

Instead, after you were protected to not get banned not long ago for your behavior towards other users in this community and provoked the removal of all moderators in the game. After I decided you deserved a chance because you've been here for long and did many good things before that matter came to my knowledge. You just keep pushing the envelope. Your insulting posts, your behavior towards others and your general attitude that is negative on here will not be neither excused nor tolerated any more.
