As promised, a little late thanks to some Microsoft meltdown fun...

I have viewed a few episodes of Mad Men and enjoyed my brief experience with it. Same goes for Boardwalk Empire and Silicon Valley. I also rather enjoyed Dexter for the time in which it was active, though I know justified criticisms of the show exist.

I haven't gotten around to Masters of Sex yet though I will get to it at some point in time. Game of Thrones didn't suit me too well, but I may have been wooed by Vikings which are very similar in style, but for some reason or another, one turned the gears and one did not.

I miss some of the old shows now that I think back to them. Nip/Tuck was secretly one of my favorites for some unearthly reason.
Ignorance has a way of enlightening us all.

Funny, she looks nothing like Santa! :woohoo:
Never heard of Arrow. What network?

Do yourself a favor and DVR the Walking Dead marathon that will most likely precede Season 5 Sunday night. It is easily the best show on TV. People laugh at me when I say that because the whole zombie premise lowers the show. OK fine, zombies are stupid. Ignoring the zombies, we jump into a drama of societal collapse, man's inhumanity to man, a struggle for decency, true moral dilemma (Carol and the girls for those who watch), and best of all a show that is unafraid to kill your favorite characters. If you don't DVR the marathon, I think season 1-4 is on Netflix!

Mac doesn't have a DVR, or cable TV. I know, absolutely primitive.

Mac is, however, modern enough to have Netflix, and will possibly check the show out when he's done with the games and shows he's working on watching now. I'm looking forward to The Flash immensely, having been a fan of Arrow since season 1.

Have we talked about this? I, too, am a fan of Arrow. More specifically a very devoted fan of Felicity Smoak.

Emily Bett Rickards makes my arrow quiver. (See what I did there?)

I came at the show with every expectation that it'd blow. Green Arrow has never been the easiest DC character to capture in a non-comic medium. I was pleasantly stunned to find that this treatment knocks it outta the park, he's rarely been this good even in the best of the comic books. It has everything; big budget feature film caliber production values and action scenes, better than feature film character development, believable personal drama, and...Felicity Smoak. Not necessarily in order of importance.

RIP CRAZYWOLF

Chris, Arrow is on The CW. Which I always used to think was The Country Western network. Silly of me, we all know Fox News is the country western network.

Nick: in addition to TWD, I also played The Wolf Among Us twice, changing my style each time. The first time, I decided to rip off the Crooked Man's head, rip off Gren's arm, tear out Tweedle Dee's throat, and send both Colin and Toad to the farm. I also smashed up Georgie Peorgie's strip club quite a bit, and didn't give Tiny Tim a job. I was a real d-bag.

The second time, I made a lot of different choices, and while it was a little better, I find the best style to be a jerk to the bad guys, and nice to the good ones, once you get a grasp of who they are.

What other games does TellTale do? I would undoubtedly play them as ASAP as possible.

TX: Arrow is on the CW. I've been able to follow it because it is on the airwaves here in the Twin Cities metro area. It's an adaption of DC hero Green Arrow.

OK. I dont understand how you guys do it. All this talk about TV shows. I guess a top 40 radio station gets most of my attention to and from work. Then there is that game, you know, where you fly a plane and try to shoot at other planes in between lag pauses. and occasionally there is a football game on in the background.

I have to admit I have never seen an episode of TWD or SOA. when I do watch TV if it isn't sports related Ill usually look for Criminal Minds. Not that this has anything to do with anything. Just thought Id let yall know.

Thanks,

As far as TV goes, Kasey, I'm pretty much the same. I'm a video gamer. The only show here I've followed is Arrow. I'm a dabbling GoT person, if only because Tyrion Lannister is a boss. I don't actually watch the show, but I've seen every recap, summary, best moments compilation, and Peter Dinklage scene. I have a pretty good general idea of what's going on. It kinda lost its full allure when Boromir died. Damn you, Joffrey.

Speaking of football, HOW 'BOUT DEM PACKERS!? The last two games by a combined 53 points. While Cricket's Lions have looked exactly like Cricket's Lions of the past. Tee hee.

Careful, bub. They're my Lions, too. Not that they've ever done a damn thing for me. Still, having been forced to chum around with 'em I can say that MLB players are goofy, NHL players are cool, NFL players are future Tea Party spokespeople waiting for the right number of concussions.

And yet, Jerry Kramer is one of the most personable persons I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Y'wanna talk Packers? Now that right there is a Packer...

A cowboys fan? I'm legitimately happy for you. Dallas finally seems to realize that DeMarco Murray is a thing. And a good one. Took them long enough.

As long as Tony Romo doesn't turn into Tony Romo come December (doh-kay) I see Dallas in a good position. Not a "beat the Packers" position by any means, but a fairly good one. Their real test is this week in Seattle.

Playing catch-up after a solid week of dredging through the statistical hell that is chapter 4 of my Master's thesis. In no particular order...

My brother, who lives in LA, is actually the visual effects producer for Arrow. I am ashamed to say that I have never seen it. but I have heard great things. Add it to the list of great TV shows that I've missed out on in the past few years (and, apparently, the list of nice-looking female actresses).

NFL? Go Steelers. College? We are...Penn State!

Music? Someone mentioned Jack White. I love anything Jack White and I am lucky enough to live near Nashville near his base of operations. The rest of my musical preferences are pretty varied, spanning many decades and genres. I do not, however, like country music, so that aspect of Nashville is wasted on me.

You, my young M.O.Mlet, need a squadlet. Put an in-game app into one of the mini-M.O.Ms squads ASAP. The Planet of the M.O.Ms is quite nice, by the way.

It means you are probably flying around without a tag over your head. M.O.M. Has several sub squads now due to number of members you now can have in a squad. So what P H was saying is go to squadron on log in page of game, put in mom and choose a sub squad like Dawn Of MOM  .

Jack White, The Lions, Mitch Ryder...it's gettin' to be the Motor City M.O.Ms in here!

Striker, like the guys said, go into the game app menu screens, hit the "Squadrons" button, type in "M.O.M" in the search field then hit whichever of the division names you like best then step on the "Join" button. It doesn't matter who's in which, it's all the same M.O.M as always. We needed to carve up the tags so the Squad Wars server that'll never have Squad Wars on it can process the squads that'll never play Squad Wars because Squad Wars is busy playing Parcheesi with Santa, the Easter Bunny, Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and an intelligent Tea Party member.

Whatever you do do not choose the one called simply "M.O.M", that's the one we're evacuating so when Squad Wars never happens we'll be ready.

Welcome back Striker! It seems that last time you were here extensively, I was barely aware of this game's existence. Nevertheless, I welcome another underage M.O.M as a change-up from these boring ol' fogies. If I'd known this was what I was gonna get when I was invited to the squadron called "Mean Old Men", I would've thought twice.

Breakfast members, eh? I was about to try to think of couple names then "Luftwaffle" stole the thunder of any name I could possibly come up with. Count on Bill to steal the thunder, I guess.

This is the most posts I've seen on this thread in a single day for a while. It'd be nice to get the ball rolling again. In case you didn't notice, we are a solid 200+ pages behind the longest thread. Although, as far as quality post material goes, I'd say we've got a decent lead of about 830 pages or so... Not that anyone's keeping track, obviously.

I'm guessing at least some M.O.Ms are familiar with Aaron O'Keefe, Cincinnati music teacher who encourages his kids, ages 6-18, to embrace their inner head bangers...and glams and southern fried rockers and alterna-hipsters and R&B divas and name your genre...then takes them into high end studios to capture the mini-magic. I can't get enough of these l'il bastards, often way more so than the artists of origin...

If you dug that one I'll post more, there's a ton. Their cover of Meatloaf is priceless.
