Luna, I'm pretty sure in Ped's case you would be dealing with mulher and menina, as opposed to señora and señorita.

Jack, sorry for correcting you, but "Señora" and "Señorita" are spanish words for the portuguese versions "Senhora" and "Senhorita". ;)

Think ten times before correcting Luna on non-English languages, my friend... She is a freaking little genious!!!! (ooops again)

I thought 15 times and was still wrong. I know she is sharp... That's why I wanted her on my side.

So for my own education, where do mulher and menina fit in? Or are all the translators just wrong?

Kes... By now you must have figured out I'm not just in the bar business. Yes. There are a lot of secret doors and underground workings around here. I can't exactly tell you if they lead to a rail system, but it would be convenient to have a hidden deep water cove and a trick dock at a place with underground rail access, wouldn't it? Now, if you would like to continue to have access to back room areas of the JR, ya can't be telling everyone what you see. It's on page 1.... What happens at the Jolly Roger...

oops!
I wont tell anyone  ;)

Now I GET IT!!! That crazy old cooc Paul Jr wasnt joking when he told us stories about the underground tunnels and its entrances.

Oh my, what have I done? I've turned the Jolly Roger into a boring language lesson! As much as I care for human linguistics, this definitely isn't the place for that! :P

Apologies, Jack, I'll be sure to fix the mood in here. How's about a round on me, then?

Hey, it wasn't boring for me. If Ped is going to go through the trouble to learn English as he has, I don't mind trying to catch a bit of Portuguese here and there in return. Just 'cause I'm a simple minded redneck don't mean I can't be learned every now and then. Plus, your exchange with him helped me understand an obvious piece of the puzzle that I wasn't understanding.

Not too much is off topic here. I like it that way.

Sent you a PM about my involvement in the whole GOG/Fake GOG affair. If you need a more coherent answer, I'm sure Manfred can help. He knows a lot about what I did and didn't do, why, the different reactions of folks, what finally happened to real GOG, and so on. Long sad story full of misinformation, outright lies, misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and so on. As I said privately, in hindsight I guess it wasn't worth the effort, but as he was screwing with so many of my favorite players here, I don't regret it either. We take care of our "customers" here... Sometimes to my own detriment.

Edit: I share this publicly only because I'm sure there are others out there who only know 1% of the story and might have questions.

Thanks, Jack. The general reason behind animosity is ignorance and misunderstanding, so if everyone would just take a moment to listen to each other, I'm sure there wouldn't be any problems.

Most of the time. Every once in a while two folks meet and it's just going to be oil and water. So often though, that moment would help. It's especially challenging through this form of communication because of the inability to hear the inflection in one's voice, and the lack of nonverbal feedback the reader is able to receive. I know I've fallen prey to misunderstanding people's intentions and meaning here because of it, and I probably will again. I guess that's the curse of this type of format.

It's happened to me, too. It's bound to happen to everyone. As long as we're all willing to listen (or read, in our case), the situation shouldn't develop into a big Charlie Foxtrot, like it seems like it did with the GoG affair.

Good evening all. Been kinda (very) busy in real life and letting things go around here.

We'll see if we can't change that tonight with 2 for 1 drinks, 25 cent wings, and if we can get enough players, we'll throw in a brand new Mossberg shotgun to whoever wins tonight's pool tournament.

Hope everyone is doing well this evening.

Jacklpe

Grey, I haven't asked about your Dad, but I really hope he gets better. Hospitals suck. I feel for you.

Dave, whatever you've gotta do to get back up and at em. No worries on the call... I was just checking to see if you were doing any better. Apparently not... That sounds like pure misery, and I just hope you get beyond it. I didn't get into Mem in time today, so I've got to wait it out until the morning. Uugh.

Black label Jack Daniels for you Ghost, and a gallon of fresh cherry juice for the good Doc.

Hi folks! Sorry for the brief absence. Luna nothing personal, wasn't meant to coincide with your new found employment here.

We are wrapping up our Spring Break #2, an RV excursion around Ventura County, ending with a brief stop in Huntington Beach. Strange to end here - from nature to... beach morons lol. Hopefully the bikes won't get stolen off the rack. Someone would have to clip two cables to do it, but the neighborhood is... interesting. But oh the sunset was gorgeous.

Manfred

Ghost, we have or can get anything you may ever want to eat or drink. Caviar, fresh Maine Lobster, aged Omaha Steaks... No problem. Deep fried cat or pickled porcupine? Give us a little notice and we'll do that too. This is not just any old honky tonk.

We can make that happen. This is somewhere between a juke joint, honky tonk, and a waterfront bar. Least that what it is in my mind.
