I will however say that you and I have faced eachother many times in games and I have never noticed that you drop. Now that doesn't mean that you didn't but you sure as heck didn't go around killing everyone like some do. Now maybe you didn't drop against me out of respect. I for one do respect you as a person and a player. You have never given me any reason to think differently. In fact you have been a good friend in the short time that we have come to know eachother.

I agree with you 100%. When you face anyone that plays in a manner other than yours, which I refer to as cheap play and not tactical, yes by all means you should match their play.

You obviously did not get a full understanding of my original post. Lol...yeah I know it was lengthy and don't blame you if you didn't read it all. By many of your responses I can tell that you were making incorrect references throughout this thread.

You never did comprehend that statement of what I was stating is my opinion. I was never forcing or dictating how a player should choose to play. I am against all that I have mentioned and have not changed my mind about that. Should I have the ability to make changes including banning players I would and I am not saying that I do. Heck maybe even I deserve the ban.

The "shut up" comment from the original post seemed to have ticked you off. That is probably because you did not read the entire post. I was telling the players that I consider cheap players to shut up because they can only respond with insults when being called out on their choice of play.

As for your ridiculous "whining"/"cry baby" comments towards me, you are completely wrong. When someone wrongs me in a game I may unfortunately call them a name or two for ticking me off, but I won't whine about it. Just as I have done here. I have been biting my tongue holding back my choice words for you but out of respect for others and myself I chose not to. Just as I choose not to play in a cheap manner. See these are things that are our choices to be made.

You were trying to defend yourself in a manner that was uncalled for when you could have just simply stated you opinion like everyone else did.

DogFight is just a game that we all seem to take too seriously sometimes and that is because there are people behind the seen. I actualy like catching up with some players whether it is in a game or world chat. Just as people everywhere disagree the same will happen here too. Being mature and respectful to eachother are values that I like to abide by and yes even I sometimes stray from that. Now that does mean it suits you nor should it have to.

Even though we had are spat here I will honor your opinions, but I will still say that I do not agree with them. Obvisously you do not agree with mine. We have come to an understanding of this. Maybe one day either you or I will have a different out look on things but for now we are far apart on our beliefs.

I am very close with my family and that means a heck of a lot more than this game can ever be. From the picture that I see and what you have brought up it seems like you too are close with yours. After reading all these posts, most which were unnecessary, I still believe in everything that I stated in my original post. I would like to rid this type of play from the game and if not maybe these players. Unfortunately that is something that I can not do.

It is always a pleasure flying with you all that choose to play fair. When others introduce cheap play it simply ruins the game. Many speak of the game being long? There is a simple solution, exit the game. Wow...is that so hard? No to some this winning concept is so stuck in the minds that they will rely on whatever it takes to win.

If I can play in a fair manner so can all.

It seems that throughout time that the majority of players are against these cheap tactics and speak up about them. When all heck breaks loose they simply had enough and accept these cheap tactics as acceptable play. I hope that will never happen to me and I hope it doesn't happen to you.

This nonsense really needs to stop. I would rather stop playing the game altogether and leave than play by their ways. I will always remember how much I hated these players from the start. Why should the next group of newbies or anyone for that matter have to put up with this?

The way I see it more and more players are using these tactics regularly. If you are all ok with this then great because I can see that within the next few months this entire game will be a free for all. Hopefully not.

Only a certain few have answered my question if they would prefer to have a "cheap players exposed" thread. I would appreciate a response from you all. This is not a decision that I will base upon my own preference.

So, it really truly "ruins" the game for you? I think you mentioned that you enjoy the social games, the banter and just sort of hanging out... more than you enjoy a tooth and nail challenge? I'm guessing casual here. If you say "competitive" yet you ask for all the manners of a birthday party you're a very complicated sort.

I would love to see such a designation with all the manners you could muster:

I don't care for such lists, my opinion and just mine. I deal with each game as it unfolds and deal with each action that requires me to remain vigilant throughout the game. What happens in each game ends when the game is over and I wipe the slate clean and begin again.

Myself as well as others at one point have listed individuals and sought justice and as fate mentioned a thread from the past called T.A.S.K was created for that purpose and players sought out named individuals to apply a form of justice.

These things brought a division amongst the forum and created many fights amongst forum squads and the community. I again choose to deal with it in game and as stated before move on.

Fate also mentioned how one can falsely be accused and in turn have many who read the list unleashed upon them. How true these words are as those including myself have learned lessons from the mistakes we so passionately fought for only to realize later as we matured with this game and forum were so wrong and as a result some people left. You could say that this list can and will create a form of cyber bullying, ask the people who have been around long enough to see the result from past attempts.

If you don't like what happens in a game, either find a way to counter 9r just leave if it upsets you. I like most am guilty of getting so wrapped up in a game, that I have lost my cool only to regret it later. Just my thoughts.

Those who have been around awhile and those who have flown against a variety of players already know who plays how, and ways to counter them. If for example, you are in a game and I am red, I already know how the game will go, at least from you, and will do what I can to come up with a way to beat you at your own game. Ill attempt to play to my strengths and your weaknesses. Same can be said for BlackDevilBubi (One of my top three wingmen by the way). I know what I am getting and how to counter his playing style. A "cheap players exposed" thread, if created, will only contribute to more of what you have just witnessed in this thread.

While entertaining it has really served no useful purpose and never was resolved. We each have our own style, see the game in our own unique way, and I don't think a thread of any kind will change that.

I think you and pedro will both agree most of us play to the other players level and skill more than any other factor. Im sure most give some quarter to noobs but show no mercy and pull out all the stops when flying against experienced players.

I can live with that.

to add a footnote: I have recently been in games with both D93 and Playing Mantis and have to say I enjoy flying with each of them. They both have different styles and are very good at watching my back and both fight hard for the win.

And as far as flying to 'pad your stats' goes look no further than Calle & Bubi - They are the Kings of KDR stat padding.

Now having said that as far as I am aware of the ONLY hard rule zuperman has for this game is that there is to be NO TANK SPAWNKILLING (or parking your plane or tank directly in front of the spawn point impeding take offs)

Other than that THERE ARE NO RULES!

And allow me to enlighten you.. if or when Squadron Wars ever was to become a reality? You would see certain squadrons like Lafayette & NLR & I am sure others as well use a magical thing called TACTICS to Win missions! And all those so-called 'honorable' ways of playing that many refer to will go out the window faster than week-old leftovers! lol! Not saying it will be a good or bad thing.. just saying it WILL HAPPEN! So pull up your bigboy underwear and play this GAME as YOU SEE FIT!

We have come across this unfortunate scenario that has happened to one of our own, Dognamitt. This guy has always been a good friend and an honorable player and person. This is as real as it gets. I will have to say that it is quite nice that when something like this occurs that we all set aside our differences and unite as one to shows our respect. This type of respect for others should be shown at all times.

Look...life is way too hard already. Accidents, illnesses, loss of loved ones, and everything else that is way more serious than this game makes everything about playing this game seem miniscule in comparison.

The way we all choose to relate with one another is the real deal. Not only how we speak to one another but also how we play this game with eachother. I am sick and tired of hearing from those who choose to play in a "cheap" fashion calling those who simply call out these cheap players whiners or anything else for that matter. Is that the only defense that you have for choosing to play in a this manner? Once you choose to play this way your opinion means nothing at all. You lost any and every right to say anything so "shut up!"

We all, with the exception of the noobs, know what is considered fair play in this game. I don't need to go over that. Whether or not one chooses to play this way is up to each and everyone. Who the heck am I to tell anyone how to go about making their choices? I am not trying to do that here. I will however have my opinion of everyone that I come across as will everyone else too.

The cheap players don't like hearing things like this, well stop playing this way and you won't have to hear it. You have it coming to you and you all know it.

I think you cheap players have it too easy. I think you should all have your stats erased and have to start from the very beginning, stats, ranks, planes, and all. Better yet I think you should be banned from the game. Just as in real life when someone chooses to do so they get punished. You too need the same.

I know I come here to unwind, have some fun, escape from the realities of life for a bit, and catch up with some friends. I don't need to deal with immature people who can't seem to get a grip on what is right and wrong in this game.

"It's in the game so why not use it" or "I am here to complete the mission at hand" is what you say. Omg...is getting the kills, hangers, or the win that important to you? Wow that is so lame. Go right ahead and keep doing what you do. I am cool with it but you will always be nothing more than a cheap player that will never get any respect from me.

So what are these cheap tactics? Here you go....
- team killing
- tank glitch of any kind
- camping and spawn killing (YES...it's the same thing...with the exception that you are being fired upon and have no choice but to defend yourself)
- using tank to spawn kill (you really are the cheapest player-automatic ban I say)
- dropping in a bombing game (you drop, I drop, then we all drop-now it's a dog fight game...and yes there is a time to drop that is ok such as reds are knocking at the door ready to bomb and you are trying hard as heck to protect your hangers or in such cases)
- any and all cheap play that is...we know what they are...do I really have to list them all

OWN UP TO PLAYING THIS WAY IF YOU DO.

If you like playing this way then fine continue to do so, but don't deny it or hide the fact that you do so. Simple say "I am proud of playing this way". At least then I can respect you, well not really, but it is better than hiding behind the truth.

AND NO, FLY OFF RADAR (aka...sneaking) IS NOT ONE OF THEM.

It's something available to all. It doesn't end the game in 1 minute (like the tank glitch) and it doesn't impede on a player being able to spawn and to play the game. You don't like it? Well too bad. Learn how to defend against a person who chooses to FOR (fly off radar...no more of this bs name sneaking). I for one think it adds that extra something this game needs. I may not choose to use this tactic, unless the reds use it first or playing against a player that uses it regularly, but I am in no way against those who choose to do so.

However all, show some respect when choosing to FOR. This means if your enemy team is either outnumbered or severely out ranked, give them a break. Use your better judgement here. Odds are that there is no need to FOR. They are having a hard enough time already defending themsleves without having to think about a person FOR.

Same goes here when deciding to drop. If you are going to drop against players that are already at a disadvantage, you have no class at all.

Winning is not everything. How you choose to treat others is.

Anyone disagrees with anything that I have stated here, go right ahead and leave me you opinion. I will respect whatever it is you need to say. I may not agree with it, but you too have the right to say whatever is on your mind, well not really, but I am trying to show some respect.

I plan on creating a "Cheap Players Exposed" thread where everyone can put these players in their place. Right here in gossip for all to see. If they don't like it well maybe it's time for them to stop playing this way.

It's going to be done with honor. No screen shots necessary. Anyone who is wronged here will have the right to defend themselves. Anyone who abuses this thread by making false claims will be considered even lower than these cheap players.

I would like to know if you are in favor of this? Obviously those cheap players will not be. I am going to allow 2 days before making a decision whether or not to post this thread according to your responses.

It's pretty simple, there are no rules carved in stone (besides tank spawn killing). I play the way I would treat anyone in "real" life. I don't hide behind the Internet. I don't really care how anyone else plays or acts in real life. I only have to look at myself in the mirror. I just try to remember the names of people I see on the blacklist and ones I encounter in game. I just try to hand out some "extra" justice to the real ToolBags.

Actually I am quite the opposite. I don't require much of anything. I am very easy to please. I have been through too much in the real world to whine about the small stuff. I do however voice my opinions often. I guess you can say that I am a tuff guy with a soft side.

Wow those lobby rooms would be awesome. I hope you passed that along for the DF2 ideas.

Honestly I enjoy a fair game. Whoever out performs the other will eventually win. Plus with players popping in and out the tides often turn. Sometimes they go on for a long time, but that too is the fun part of it for me. If one doesn't want to stick around they always have the option to leave. The casual playing is great when there are others to shoot the breeze with. Even then there's nothing casual of my game play. I will give it all I got.

Competative? I think it's competative enough just having to face any of you great players. Being outnumbered? I am a big fan. Making every shot count, well all these things are competative to me. Dealing with what I consider to be cheap play is not competative, it's just cheap play.

I have already been through the grind here to know how to defend myself in game play thanks to many of you great players. From chasing fown Bubi, being on alert of players that FOR (sneaking), camping, well lets say most things. At the same time I am sure that I still have a lot to learn.

Even though I am sick of seeing what I consider to be cheap play, I am used to it already and have learned how to deal with it. I think my main purpose for this thread is to put an end to it so others don't have to go through it as well. I see more and more of this type of play. Then I am in a game and often I see players that will call out another for using these tactics to only get baraged with insults such as being called a whiner, baby, and much more. They simply don't deserve it.

So I guess you can say that I am sticking up for those others that can't defend themselves whether it be in game play or speaking up for themselves. Isn't that what the DF squads are about? Being there for your brothers and sisters?

I consider you all my brothers and sisters until I see that a player does not deserve that title. I am a little more upset at myself for not defending my brothers and sisters more in the past, but that will change.

I am a softy because once you raise a baby girl, well that does it to you. Plus when one gets hit with situations such as what Doognamitt and his family are going through, I find it difficult to try to be a tuff guy.

Don't get me wrong. That tuff guy does still exist. I lived much of my life in Manhattan, New York. I don't know if you know much about it, but one will not last a day there without being a tuff guy.

I for one don't have to think about squad wars as I have chose to fly solo. There are many reasons for it. One reason, to coincide with the topic, is that I can fly how I deem fit without thinking about what a fellow squad mate is doing. That is probably on the bottom of my reasons why I choose to fly solo.

I have learned to supply some extra love to these players too. Unfortunately for me some of these great players, such as yourself, have a whole lotta love to give back.

You have had my back many times we have flown blue together bro . We have learned to deal with the direspectful in many a game . You are very correct with what you state and it is a reflection of how people act in their every day life . I have raised two beautiful children who have exellent carrers . I set the example in everything I did in life . I taught them right from wrong . But there is only so much you can do and the rest is up to the individual . Then you get to see if there are any flaws in your method . People that want to cover their actions with excuses and believe they are right in the way they go about treating other people wether it be in a game , in the street or at work only have to look at how their life is panning out and they will know deep down wether they are going about it the right or wrong way . Achievements in life come from others wanting to help you , the more help you get the greater the achievments . Respect is how much you help others back in return without expecting anything . I have played dogfight for over a year now, and hopefully you guys have realized that I try to be a respectful player to you all. I feel like team killing and taking advantage of tank glitches are unfair play because they are enforced by the game (banning) or not originally designed as part of the game (glitches). However, I personally feel as though practices such as camping, spawn killing, using a tank to spawn kill, or dropping in a bombing game are not necessarily cheap play. If you are part of a squadron that has rules against such practices, then that is one thing, but I believe that independent players should have the freedom to discern when to use these practices and when not to. In real life during a dogfight in a real war, if the enemy was overrun, they were overrun, camped upon, killed if they continued fighting, or taken as POWs if they didn't. Bombs should be retained if possible, because the game cannot be won without them, but as for droppers, they are actually easier to shoot down because of the instability of a plane that has dropped a bomb. If the player is a newbie, or there is only one or two players, then the opposing team should be gracious toward them, however, and perhaps relent as far as camping and spawn killing are concerned.

Just something to think about, and I am willing to change my position if you all have more convincing arguments. I try to be a fair player, and yes, I have been a victim to tank glitches and team killing. I hope you all have a good evening.

Competitive with fair play.

I am naturally a competitive person. Sports have always been a big part of my life.

I don't mind winning or losing, whether it's in a game of DF, sports, or anywhere for that matter, as long as I know that I tried and that it was done fairly. If not a win to me means absolutely nothing.

But it's not all competitive to me. I will allow and train a player to kill me. I will share my knowledge of this game to anyone espcially if it's a new player to make it fair. Sometimes even within a game I will purposely allow myself to be killed and allow the enemy to complete the mission. Now I won't do this against an experienced player, but when I think about how happy I may have made that person, well it's better than any kill or win.

Btw...I can honestly say that I care less about any of my stats or if I win or lose a game. I am way to mature for that. It is sure fun as heck playing as hard as I can and what ever my stats say at the end, so be it. As for being competitive, ooohhh how i love those last bullet chute kills.

So when I see someone using a cheap tactic to win a game I can only think how pathetic it is.

Okay, so you have the perspective that "cheap tactics" have no place in the game? Would you "allow" those of us who consider it a great fight to have our own servers? I can't imagine that you are so hard core about your convictions that you believe there should be no place for us "dishonorable", "disrespectful","pathetic", people (who must be so in real life because that's how we play the game).
