Thanks Gary.
One question. Was there any difference in aiming?
Seems to be a huge difference between the 4 and the air.
So that makes me wonder if it's the same way between the 4 and the mini.

Nope... Aiming and controls seemed identical to my 4. I only played for 5-10 minutes on it, but kill rate, chasing, chute shooting and general target acquisition all seemed the same.

One note, I regret that I didn't try to tank. It does have the latest ios7 installed and it would have been nice to test it for split screen and general tank controls. I didn't wanna push my luck with the wife though. She caught me in the middle of my test and assumed I was threatening to high jack the mini as I had with HER ipad4 (now mine :woohoo: ).

I'll try another test if I get the chance, but don't count it....

Jesus If I hear one more story about poor, pathetic Swop being bullied by big, bad M.O.M I think I will punch myself in the face, stand on a chair with a rope around my neck, slit my wrists, & jump off the chair on to a loaded shotgun with a bayonet attached to it. I'm choking on my own vomit right now. Pathetic.........

M.O.M to the bone. So glad I never took the invites to the 111th when I was a noob.

Well yesterday Swop dropped into a game and I gave him the "Hey Swop!" I think he might have missed it..... However I have been in several games with Sky and he has been quite friendly! Even in world chat Zebra was talking about some 111th recruit SKing a MOM and bragging about it even after Zebra told him to cut it out. As soon as Sky saw that he was all over it with the tone that he wanted to know who it was and that it was not going to be tolerated! Sky if you read this? Thanks!
Swop hope your doing well!

Ok I have come here all day with an attempt to spit something out.... Geshhhh you would of thought it was five days before the birthday of our "Lord and Savior"!
So if I may have the floor for a second? Because this has taken me allot of courage to put into action and writing, they "who-ever they are" say it will help with the process......

Well the other day for about the "Millionth Time" someone I cared about said something to me about my smoking....
Well I have been sitting on a brand new filled prescription of Chantix for almost a month now. Yesterday I decided to start taking it. Yahhh me!! Pshhhhh

I have always had pride in saying I have ZERO regrets in life! Every up and every down has taught me something, and when ever I am asked. If you could go back and change only one thing, what would it be? Nope not to win the lotto, not to win the heart of a lost love, fast cars, building full of Harley Davidson's (ikr crazy!), not even to have never picked up that very first cigarette...

If I could, I would go back to the moment I graduated boot camp, and slap the ever loving shit out of that crazy ass 19 year old that I was! For three months I had that monkey off of my back! Three damn months! But nooooooo! I am such a bad ass I can stop it at anytime...... IDIOT!!!!!

By far, without a doubt the single most worst decision I have ever made! Was, right at that moment! After picking up my cover off the ground and grabbing my sea bag, I high stepped it as fast as I could to the base store to buy a pack of Marlboro Red's! IDIOT!!!!! IDIOT!!!!! IDIOT!!!!! IDIOT!!!!! Then I went to Devil Dog Inn and drank a few beers with my Drill Instructors (whole different story but a good one! Lol)

So now here I am 20 years later getting my chops busted again over this disgusting habit that I have hated for years! Do you have any idea as a Professional Fireman how embarising it is to hear? "Why are you smoking Firemen dont smoke!" Makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about the times I have been asked that by some parent holding their little kids hand! I have tried to quit many times in every way known to man (or woman) and none have stuck! The last time I tried to quit I went into a blind fit of RAGE tears flowing down my face, in rush hour traffic, and managed to bend the steering wheel (many say that can't be done but many have never tried to quit smoking) of the work truck I was in.

It says that this can be mood altering (ahh really) so if you see me going off the deep end and or pulling a Davy Crockett or a BlüE MäX (just picking love you guys only wish I had your sKILLs) now you know why. I have been trying to keep my responses to things more like a . wig! or a YODA aka HIGHLANDER aka Martin them there fellers have a way with the words!

Anyway I don't have the heart to tell anyone out here in the real world (I have let them down to many times) and someone that cared enough to bust my chops in here, in this world pushed me over the edge. I thought I would say it here and hope that ANYONE that ever thinks you can handle it, I hope this BURNS a memory into your MIND!

OK now can a brother get a group hug or what!

P.s. if all you got out of this is that I used a few bad words? Please save yourself and hurry to the nearest toilet and proceed to flush your head in it till you like what I just took about 4 hours out of my life to write!! (MäX I tried to be strong but I just had to end it with some style and you as a fellow smoker would appreciate!!! Lol)

Successes and failure stories are not only welcomed but encouraged!

I think you have shaken your head to many times :woohoo:

I understand where you are coming from! I have been a smoker since I was 17 and have only given it up once! It lasted about three months! :pinch:

Let me know how that Psyctixs works for you! Someday I may have to re-approach the quitting, but I am hoping for one of those miracles where you walk in smoking and walk not even knowing you have ever smoked! The sad thing is that I smoke more playing DF, Yea I know, weird right! So I have no tale of successfully quitting or any nail butting tails of withdrawals of nicotine. The only thing I can say is that I should never have started! Yes, I should have listened to those that said don't ever start! Butt (get it, like cigarette butt), like you said Yem, you are invincible and the world will bow at your feat!

So I give you strength, courage and perseverance to overcome this! Utilize your problem solvers!!! ;)

Man I'm pullin for ya Brian. Hard habit to kick. I smoke at least a pack a day. When I can't smoke it is Copenhagen long cut. I tried the gum and patches. No dice. I would have the patch on, gum in my mouth, and be smoking. :pinch: I thought about trying the pills but haven't.

I was a Marlboro Reds smoker for over 20 years until early this year, so I know where you are coming from! Quitting is extremely hard, but there are a few things that helped me in the process (and no prescription). I cannot guarantee any of these suggestions will help, however, they did help me:

1. My wife was also a smoker and she decided to quit with me.
2. I used e-cigs a few times a day instead of the real thing. Gradually weaned myself down to once per day.
3. I changed my routine around the house - began taking walks after work (1-2 miles) to help relieve stress and clear my head. We took up cycling as well and try to ride 6-8 miles each evening (weather permitting).
4. Talked to my doctor - sometimes hearing it from a medical professional is helpful. To be honest, I do not visit a doctor regularly; however, I had a scare with my heart last year and even though it turned out to be nothing, it did convince me to make some lifestyle changes - including quitting cigarettes. He suggested Chantix, but I was freaked out by the potential side effects (those commercials made it sound like whoever takes it will become suicidal) - I declined going that route even though he said the results were very positive.
5. Openly tell people around you that you've quit smoking - they will support and encourage you.

In your post you sounded downright ashamed of yourself - as though you are a bad person. Smoking doesn't make you a bad guy, it's just a habit (and a powerful psychological addiction). Nicotine is one of the most highly addictive substances out there, and your mind and body will try to keep you from quitting - hang in there.

There are a lot of people lining up to judge smokers and make them feel like outcasts. I hated the fact that I smoked, and how it made me feel. I do have occasional dreams where I am still smoking, but is no longer crave them - in fact, I don't even think about it anymore.

I hope this helps in some small way - the main thing is for you to remain positive and try not to force anything. Sometimes we set bars and standards for ourselves and kick ourselves repeatedly if we don't reach these artificial marks. It's hard enough as it is - there's no need to complicate things further.

You have my support!

Best of luck with quitting smoking. I have a teacher who has been smoking for years and just watching him trying to quit really makes you feel his pain. :(

Hope it goes easier for you then it will be for him. :)

Wow thanks allot for the words of encouragement! Dag-Gone even brought out my buddy that got the call to MOM the same day as me! Great to see you Mmiller! Glad you were a success! I didn't mean to sound to rough on myself, it is an image that sticks with me. As a profession that even me as a kid was in ahhhh of. I would rather have some youngster remember me for something other then the Fireman with a cig hanging out of his mouth. Plus to show those youngsters that jump on here and might read from time and again, it has been a regretful addiction.

Edit: on old IPhone locking up if this sounds all messed up....

I started to smoke when I was 13  and quitted in February five years ago. I know what you are facing. It isn't in any way easy. I had a break for half a year about 10 years ago. Thought I could handle only to partysmoke... BAD mistake. I can still hear them calling my name sometimes, and they smell fantastic. But those who smoke doesn't. They smell like an old overfilled ashtray.
You know when you are really sick the cigarettes tastes very bad but you still smoke them. If you don't smoke for some days they will taste that way for a start, but if you smoke one or two they won't. What I did the first time I quitted was that I saved one cigarette, and when the cravings got to hard to handle I took ONE inhale and then put it out again. The 6th or 7th time I did that it tasted really awful.(that cigarette lasted for 5 weeks)
Best of luck to you.
