Well Martin and I were chanting off some cadence last night and got me motivated to look up "Full Metal Jacket". I was going to post the boot camp scenario, however after some review I don't know if it would go over well with this PG world we live in. So I did find a real clip (I went thru 20 years ago no video and this is allot softer then back then, TRUST ME)from boot camp. This is what goes down after about your third day of no sleep. For me it was about my fifth day with no sleep.
The day before I left for MEPS I stayed up all night parting with the homies the next day rode a bus for about four hours (I cant sleep sitting so no sleep during any of my travel's). At MEPS I met a guy going to Air Force, a guy going to the Navy and a guy going into the Army.
Well this was our last night of freedom, so this would be a good time to party it up and pull another (very very very bad idea) all nighter!!!!! Next was a 3 hour plane ride, after many delays we landed late so I missed the finale bus into bootcamp, so I stood on the yellow foot prints solo and began to pay dearly for being late. "NO SIR THIS RECRUIT DOES NOT THINK THAT THIS RECRUIT IS SOMEONE SPECIAL THAT NEEDS A SPECIAL BUS TO COME BACK AND PICK THIS RECRUIT UP SIRRRRR!!!!" (Now drop and give me 20 MAGGOT!!!!)
Your first couple of days are for getting your gear, physical, hair cut and whatever else, but trust me it is none stop. So by now I am on my fifth day of ZERO shut eye. First time I ever fell asleep standing up was during this, did it twice, first one I woke up when I hit the ground, second time I stayed asleep laying on the ground till I had a Junior DI flipping out on me. I hope I never forget that feeling of waking up to some dude losing his mind on me as my eyes started to tune in along with my brain that "oh crap I need to be on my feet! Crap crap crap" lol
So now to the video. From what I can tell, this is the first day these guys meet their Drill Instructors, NEVER ENDS! It is like this for weeks, but when you pop out on the other side..... OOH-RAH!!!! There is nothing like it in the world! Joining The United States MARINE CORPS was by far the best decision I have ever made!
Hope you all enjoy!
