To alieviate some of my terrible boredom I will post some pics.
These are my babies. Hand made, numbered, signed, custom, one of a kind. I will follow up with a few tattoo pics later. Right now just the tools I use. These things are awesome. I love them and wouldn't work with out them. You don't even want to know how much they cost. They were made by a fellow named Dano Collins. He is a master machine builder. These were built specifically for me. Through emails back and forth I had the input on the design and materials. I also bought his book on building machines. If you have time visit his web site Old School Irons and check out all of his machines. Beautiful work.
This one is made out of a meteorite from Argentina. You can buy hunks of meteorite from any where off the net. This one is the purest iron in the WORLD. The pattern you see is unique to this meteorite. Like a finger print. All fragments of the same meteorite will have the same pattern(Widmanstatten Pattern if you want to Google)They cut and polish it, throw some acid on it and it comes out visible. Very cool. That's what turned me on to Dano. He is the only one in the world building machines out of this. This was my first from him. The washer under the post is a 1910 silver Mercury dime U.S.A and the coils are wrapped with some cash from India. Not sure the denomination but it has a satellite on it.
This one is Damascus steel. same as the steel used in knife making. Steel is rolled over and over then sliced in a cross section and acid etched. All hard ware and the strip through the middle are copper.
This one is Mokume Gane (Japanese for wood grain metal). Similar to Damascus steel but made of alloy metals. Copper, brass, etc...Folded same as Damascus and cut in a cross section then acid etched. This one is a frame-less (No side plate). All posts and hardware are Mokume Gang. Coils covered in copper.
