Some good games tonight with Bopes, Snoopy!!, Max and DIESEL. Thanks for the fun guys.

DIESEL/Bopes, I reported that dude that bombed our own hangar. D and Desert Rose were really wearing us out, but I didn't want it to end like that. Ready sucked and sorry we didn't get to finish that one the right way. Weird thing in that game. 2 people got stuck on the sides of building in their chutes. Ok I have a story and questions. Quiz at the end.

Say you are in a BTB. You bomb two hangers after a slide around the long way. As you come in an enemy plane spawns. You bomb hangers. He takes off try's to shoot you. He crashes just before your four hits on him take effect. You then fly off past the first hill & notice that he isn't taking off to follow. Not taking the bate. You notice one of your team mates coming in to bomb.

Do you
A. Leave and let your team mate up to his own fate? Prolonging a game you are there to win.
B. Turn and help run cover and add an extra target hoping he will make a successful run?
C. Hover over enemy airport after your run and wreak havoc reds be damned until your out of ammo or dead.

Tell you what I did. I turned, throttled back, and plink, plink, plink, plink, one shot at a time. I knew he had the break on but wanted to keep him parked. Not kill just suppress. Worked like a charm. Had he not had his break on he would have been dead. Then I turned and left. I would have spawned him though in that case. I didn't hover after that I left. No reason to after that. I should have though. Like a swarm of angry bees.

So after that I get. "No spawn kill for you Max." "I knew you would try something cheap like that."

Some one just made my PLAYERS THAT CRY ABOUT SPAWN KILLING TO SPAWN KILL LIST. Pathetic. May not have tried "something cheap like that" today but next time hmmmmmmmmmm may be. I went out of my way to give him space. Plenty of room to defend. Not again. Good thing them brakes work. You will need them. High ranked player.

Curious what the rest of the squad would do? You don't have to explain your answer unless you want just pick a choice. ABC. If you want to pick a choice any way. I my self do all three. It just depends on the team I'm playing against. The wild goose chase is my favorite. Used to be total destruction after a run. That keeps every one at the target site though.

If a team mate is coming in to bomb you run cover and shoot em on the ground too, its only spawnkilling if you do it in FFA or CTC. I also stick around and harass them on the ground if I know guys are on their way, that's tactical warfare.

For me it's B and C. Perfectly legit practice if you're covering the run in of a team mate and perfectly legit to hang around and continue if there a several on their way in - supports the objective doesn't it? The only time it becomes tedious (and I say this as somebody who's frequently stuck on the ground) is when the bombing is over but the opposition simply hang around for "easy meat" to increase their score. In this case, there is no future in even trying to take off - even with a brakes t/o, you've got to be fortunate to get high enough to safely lose the bomb and gain some speed for a fight before being shot down - virtually impossible if there is more than one "vulture" circulating. I usually get shot down (duh!) but then try to take them out with a rifle from the ground....the more enthusiastic ones tend to come straight for you which makes it easier. Just a shame it takes 5 or 6 shots with a rifle to take them out.
But on the subject of spawn killing, check out what happened at Pitomnik airfield when the Russian tanks caught the JU52's on their way out.....

I sort of agree, but you could justify spawnkilling the whole game on that basis as a team mate will/should always be flying back to bomb.
I prefer to bomb, clear the air, then fly back to tanking territory and play with the enemy until a team mate is near, then start moving back towards them and acting as bate with my team mate behind me.

I nearly bombed my own hanger deliberately yesterday as Loewenhardt or what ever his poxy name is was just constantly spawnkilling me and my team with none of his team anywhere near us. I was in a fowl mood and really had to fight with the voices to stop myself!
After many deaths i eventually got him and from now on whenever I see him spawning, he's fair game!

I don't disagree with you Rich. Ultimately it's a question of judgement. Clearly you shouldn't hang over the airfield without relatively imminent incoming. It's all a very grey area - nobody likes the obvious sk's, but at the same time, to be accused of it when you're on a bomb run or covering another team member is tiring. Shades of grey I guess....

Blue Max, I am with you on this. You have found a way to use the game settings to your advantage - clever. I wish I had thought of it. But the outwitted subject of your attention has used the default 'spawn kill' argument to deter you. Like most players I have been through the learning process of protocol and manners. Now I do not spawn kill but I am perplexed by the constant complaints about players not abiding by 'spawn kill' rules. I do not spawn kill because it does not feel right. But I will camp and circle in order to murder an ace on take off because It multiplies my team's chamces. Also, surely that is what an ace should expect. Take it as a complement.
I do not approve of spawn killing, but I also disapprove of spawn kill whinging. Don't stop Max. You're right.

Neat tactic, Love it..... I've seen people sit and wait also.....I love to see the people spawn on them and crash, except when it's me....

The other day i entered a capture carrier game, i landed on a flight deck and was sitting there relaxing when a red popped up on radar, his immediate comment was " OH CRAP IT'S A MOM ". I promptly took off, shot him, looped, landed and took the carrier. The point is MOMS ARE TO BE FEARED.

Also may I address this spawn kill fiasco. I don't know how many times I've been shot down on a bomb run at the last minute because I'm scared of being called a SK ( even before i knew what a hanger looked like, lol ). No more though, on a bomb run i will shoot anything in sight, on or off the runway. After i bomb if no plane is behind me than i go back to the base.

I've been in games where i never left the runway, that is pure crap and i don't participate in that activity. In a dogfight game or carrier game i fly away from the airport until they take off and are away from the airport, than I turn around and fight.

The other day while in a dogfight game a pilot took off in front of me, he was in my sights, just off the base and i shot him. He was ticked, but if he's in your sights right in front of you than why not.

THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU ARE ON A BOMB RUN THAT YOU NEED TO SHOOT IN ORDER TO BOMB AND IF SOMEONE IS COMING IN BEHIND YOU. IF IM ON THE RUNWAY AND I SEE NOTHING BUT RED THEN I EXPECT TO BE SHOT. I LIKE BEING SHOT IN THOSE INSTANCES, IT MAKES A BETTER PILOT OUT OF YOU TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE MESS.

Max, here's what I do... After I drop my bomb, I try to take down all airborne reds. If successful and there are Blues on the radar, I circle and engage the reds as they take off. I try my best to make sure they are in the air and if possible, have had enough time to drop their bomb (the opportunity to drop, meaning cleared the deck enough to do so, I do not wait for the actual drop). I do everything within those parameters to suppress the reds so my team can drop.

If no blues are on the radar, I will still try to knock em down then try to lure them away with the intent of reloading. If while I'm doing this meet an inbound blue, I will turn and cover and usually end up tanking.

If I am inbound with a bomb, all's fair. I will strafe you on the Tarmac.... EVERY TIME! I made it all the way to your base, with a bomb. I'm not turning broadside or coming at you without firing just because I'm at the end of your runway. This is still technically spawnkilling, but mission-oriented. It's the only time I'll shoot planes on the deck.

A similar situation where I was accused of spawnkilling that really got my undies in a bunch.... It was a small game 2 of us 3 of them. I took all 3 down on my way in, some more than once. I passed my teammate in a tank just before Hamburger Hill (I hate that frigging thing). I dropped on the hangars killing reds as I came in close and circled. Reds took off headed for the tank, I took out 2 headed straight for the incoming tank and engaged the 3rd in a chase. While chasing, my teammate landed a long shot, leaving a single hangar on each side. I also took the other 2 (lower ranks) down again (flying straight and level off the end of the runway, still being chased mind you). Another long kill shot from the tank, one hangar left. I took out my chaser. Another red spawned. 2-4 now. Picked up another chase and took out another outbound red. The new spawn slipped passed me and dropped his bomb, kamikazi style on my the tank. I knocked the chaser out and headed for base. While returning, I congratulated my teammate on a job well done, with a return kudo to me. The highest rank on the reds replies, "Yeah, great job... Spawnkilling!" If that's spawnkilling, I'm really Jimmy the Lip. I called BS and pointed out that not one red I shot over the base had a bomb. I asked him to explain that if it was SKing. Some lame reply and then a, " ok I guess not".

Folks will get frustrated when they're getting the worst end of the exchange and it is now common place to be accused of SKing even when not. Screw 'em! And I'm with you Max. If you accuse me of SKing, I'll show you what an example of "real" spawnkilling, just so you know the difference.

Yesterday I played a BTC against him and RichyRoo, if my memory doesn't fail on me. Immediatelly after my arival, this SB467 beast begun to spawnkilling me one time after another, and I didn't eve SEE his plane for a long while!!!! What a vulture!! A real ghost!! Is he a Desert Rose brother?? lol

By the way, SB, I am not complaining. Take this as a compliment, bud! Your teammate were all bombing, and you did a great job helping them. As many of us already stated, THIS kind of spawn kill is tactical. Sorry for quiting that game - lots of incoming calls these days! grrrrrrrr

By the way, speaking of incoming calls and sudden quits, last monday I was in a destroy the zep game, and after killing many reds and almost bringing the zep down entirely by myself, with TONS of points on my pocket, some freak called my phone number!!!
Obviously, the game crashed... Question: when this occurs, do I lost all that precious points as it would happen if I crashed my plane????

Max, me and one other blue were in the exact sequence you described. I said How? Before I could type "I will show you what the difference is!" the other player showed him it what it was and the player left.

I have seen this happen on numerous occasions, different games and will just from now on show them what it is when they say it. It is getting very tiresome. Maybe people have a bad day and they have encountered this too many times, who knows. I am not here to counsel or to be their psychotryst. I play the game to have fun. Next time I am thinking of saying thank you and hope you can return the favor!

Wow, I never realized it but the spawn killing debate goes back a long long time. I was just watching TORA TORA TORA and I loosely translated what the JAPANESE pilots were saying. They were saying "ok guys guys let the AMERICANS up". "Go for the hangers and ships, let them leave the base" "No spawn killing, let them go"

And the debate goes on. (About spawn killing, there is no debate on me being a sexy kitten um um um)

I know crashing in zep game you do not lose points. A lost connection is a different story.

The only way to truly know is if you keep track of what your points were before you lost connection and compare it to the next time you log back into game and see if they are the same. I can not remember how many points I have when I loose connection because I am too busy cursing the person who made me loose connection(I Keep forgetting to put it on do not disturb so I should be cursing myself)to tell if I still had same points.

I know it is not an answer to your question, but at least a response to a question you asked
