Greets all !!! I've been playing since mid December and have played with a lot of different guys/gals. Curious as to where we all get our in game names. Figured it would be interesting to know some back ground on the interesting names I see. So if you wish to tell your in game name and why you took it on I think it would be cool to hear.

I started the game as Bad Mutha Flocka. I know was bad. After a game with one of the 111th guys, sorry cant remember which 1 it was. He politely suggested I change it. Since I was already considering a change I took the advice. At that time I didn't hit the forum at all so I asked him how and he explained. Thank you 111th. So after kicking around various possibilities I came up with Blue Max. One of my favorite movies about WW1 fighter pilots. Also in my opinion the coolest decoration ever awarded. Given to aces in WW1. If you have not seen the movie I highly recommend it and if you've never heard of the Blue Max do some research and reading. Very cool. So that's how I became Blue Max. Almost Bad Mutha Fokker. Just as bad I know but it lost out to the more family friendly Blue Max.

I use the name of my first dog but maby the names of dog 2 or 3 fitts better in this game.

I've always had a big fascination over the night. Especially the moon. There's nothing I like better than taking a walk with the full moon on a clear night.

When I first downloaded DF, I thought it would be silly humor but as I've noticed the various age groups, I think it maybe a bit inappropriate (although bad motha flocka takes the cake ) I was actually thinking about new names earlier today, and to be more family friendly, think ill go with something mundane like P.Floyd after my favorite band

Jackalope is my CB handle. We truckers still have those, silly as it might sound. I've had it since I was a kid, and honestly can't remember how I came up with it , beyond the fact that I thought Jackalopes were funny. I've used it also as a computer nickname going back to the old 386s and such. I never needed it with the old Commodore PETs... . Over the years I got tired of typing the whole thing, so I started abbreviating it Jacklpe.

Parrot Heads are Jimmy Buffett fans. Akin to dead heads, grateful dead fans. I've been known as a huge Buffett fan for years and have used that as an online name for a long time. The license plate on my truck... PRRTHEAD.

It's really funny in game. Some of the older guys will make a Buffett reference when they first see me while the younger guys will say some thing along the lines of "hey I have a parrot" or " do you own birds?" Tells me a lot sometimes.

Well I use Dr Dave because when I was younger,,,a lot younger... I was going to school to become a doctor, I was working as a Nurse at night and driving a cement trk during the day and cooked at the steakhouse on wkends. All my buddys called me Doc. Everyone else just called me sir... My family call me crazy, then life happened, ie, kids. I made the most money driving so I dropped out and supported my kids, but the nickname stuck. And I liked it. So when I joined the game outta a bit of sarcastic self indulgence I started the game useing my old nick name, and everybody here made me feel welcomed so the name stuck, I'd like to think people remember it easily and I like that. I still remember my nursing days and sometimes miss them, but that's how Dr Dave came to be.


Sorry I get a bit long winded sometimes.

Oh and I to like jimmy Buffett but I don't have the nose to pull off a name like parrot....

Mine is a nickname given to me by my coworkers. They would call me jimbo and then a MMA fighter came along by the name of kimboslice (to bad he ended up stinking)so it progressed to jimboslice. I have played hockey for the same club in Chicago for 22 years and I have always worn the number 27 ( big JR fan). So that's how I got to jimboslice27

my father was a fighter pilot in WW2. he kind of looked like frank sinatra in those days so in a news paper article the reporter dubbed him with the nickname Bobby Sox....as the singers that appealed to young girls ( like sinatra ) were called Bobby Socksers.

When i first started playing call of duty on my friend's playstation, i noticed sometimes we'd run up on someone who was just laying in a corner waiting for kills to come to them; camping.

We would laugh, say "who's this guy," then turn their avatar into a nice lil headshot bonus.

So when i created my own COD profile, WhoseThisGuy seemed like it would be entertaining to players who are targeting me.

Sometimes people will tell me I spelled it wrong: to them i say, no, it's the possessive form of whose, as in "Whose guy is this??"

As to why; I like to think a little laughter in a clever name is a gift to your fellow players.

Great topic, I often feel compelled to ask people the origins of their call signs during the game, it's often fascinating and sometimes even emotional hearing the story behind the pilot!

My call sign, Jetmaroo is named so after my 1st dog, Jet, who was my best friend and source of endless amusement and companionship throughout my teenage years. Girlfriends came and went, but Jet was always there to pick up the pieces

He was fiercely loyal, tough, a great rabbiter and would play fetch 'til he dropped. Despite his destructive tendencies (pizza boxes a speciality) and grumpiness I loved him to bits.

Oh and the 'maroo' bit, well a one syllable name for a dog doesn't work well, so he was often called Jetmaroo.

"FLYMAGIC" comes from my love of flying and magic. I used to make my living doing it.
