Well, played off and on all day. Great games with numerous GI's, Misfits and Legends! Worked on bombing hangers and improving KDR.

A lot of great GI's in games and very much enjoy flying with them--red or blue, they are an impressive and talented group.

Early eighties on Harleys and Yamahas.. (I just woke up and after reading Kevs post feel like talking scoots) Harley was coming off the AMF years, which were not as bad as everyone said.. Fact is AMF invested in the company and when Vern Beals and a group of senior employees put together a buy out deal AMF cooperated and the motor co might not be here today were it not for some good people at AMF who wanted the co to stay in American hands.. The bike .. Starting with the 1980 80 ci (1340 cc) Harley started refining the engine.. Even though eighties were made back in the forties (flatheads designed for sidecar work) these were pretty much new and improved and the final shovel in 83 was the same bottom end as the evolution that saved the company.. The evo of course brought aluminum cylinder heads and tighter tolerances to the engine.. I owned an 86 FXR and outside of the non traditional frame "look" it might be the best all around motorcycle I've ever owned.. Torque like a diesel, and a frame that didn't flex in the corners.. Quite a bike.. By the way the start of the turn aroun was when Vern and three other top company men rode their 83 SHOVELS to Daytona and back to Milwaukee tore them down and found they were as tight as when they left Juneno Ave in Milwaukee.. Yamahas .. Kev are you thinking of the Vmax on the top speed thing.. I checked the stats on my XS1100.. Which was a fine looking scoot black with gold trim.. Yamaha knew how to make the big standard look and perform.. Except for a frame that DID flex all over.. The rear axle was offered in two ratios with a top speed of 125 and 135.. I had the lower geared and faster 125 cog in mine and it was the only time I've had the fastest ride in town,, I lived and worked in Florence AZ, and had just sold my 1980'XL sporty for a small fortune.. Enough to buy the Yamaha and payoff some debts.. That big straight four was a monster in acceleration and the fastest thing in town.. I've always wished I would have made a chopper out of it.. But I didn't .. The next time I saved enough to buy a Harley (another super glide this time in FXD mode) I sold it to a dentist assistant for the final dollars to get the Glide.. The Yamaha easily stands out as the fastest bike I've ever owned.. For that reason alone it's a good thing I sold it.. One thing for sure.. Speed kills on a bike, and that rush of adrenal glands opening up is hard to say no to.. For me it was easier to just sell it, and live!

On the new banner.. Thanks Pard.. I respect you for getting off the bike when you did.. I basically did the same thing when I sold the big Yamaha.. To me it's a lot like jumping out of a plane.. I get that it might be fun, but it's not fun for me.. Some things should be left with a key in the ignition, and a full tank of gas.. Thanks for the banner Pard, I truly love it..

Pard. Well, let's see. We all started playing this game probably because we had tried so many others that just didn't satisfy that certain "need". Games like candy crush and Farmville lend themselves to be more of an attraction to the female persuasion. Our significant others played those, and they invited us to take part in their joy, but after milking the cows and harvesting various fruit trees and our crops a few times a day, The monotony got to be too much. After all... We're Men... And our need for adventure, our craving for alpha type behavior just demanded more. More action, more sweat, more adventure, more testosterone evoking competition... Yeah!
So we delved into this game named Dogfight, never knowing what we were getting ourself into, but during the process found that others just "like" us were here, probably for the same reasons. One day you ran into a guy that had a squadron. He liked your style, and even though you weren't consistently blowing reds out of the skies, he felt the need to invite you to join his empire. You hadn't really counted on any of this, but you were intrigued. After all, how cool was it to fly in games with a banner over your plane for blabla squadron. All of a sudden you found yourself wanting that banner too. Nothing like feeling wanted, so you go for it. He directs you to Squad chat. You go, not knowing what to expect. Was he going to fill you in on all the secrets and tricks? Was he gonna explain the rules and directives? Who knew. As you enter the private area, you're greeted immediately. "WELCOME TO THE PACK!" another entry pops up on your screen... "where are you from, man?"... Before you answer, someone else says" great job out there. I like your style, man". You start to get the overwhelming feeling of " hey this is pretty cool!"
You' re now a Wolf! A member of "the pack" You remember now about the banner over your name in game. What would it look like? And what would it "feel" Like? Before you know it you're flying with two guys from the Squad and you're tearing it up. You feel that "part of something big" emotion well up inside you, and you muster your first Howl after you see one of your members rip one out. "hey! " you see on the screen" "great Howl!. You're In now! What a great feeling.
As week goes by. You meet more Wolves and find out from talking to them in squad chat that you share a hobby. Conversation ensues, and before you know it, it's 4 am local time. You tell yourself you need to get some sleep and begin to say your good nights, but it takes another hour before you actually shut 'er down. You tell yourself that guy was cool, and he was a geezer like me. All of a sudden you feel better about spending so much time on a "game". But, it's not just a game anymore. Months go by. More relationships are forged. Heck! You've gotten yourself into a whole new family. Not only are you fulfilling the need to fire guns and take out an enemy, but you're having honest to goodness talks with others about life. Convos that you never expected to have within this exact environment, with a guy or gal you didn't even know before you got into this mess.
And what a fine mess it is.

At the bottom of the preceding page I wrote "Pard..one request to match my "makers mark" .. Give us moment in time and remind us why we love this game as much as we do!!"

That request was granted above, and it says it all.. All that and real friendship.. It's so much more than a game.. I knew Myrlin would have the ability to put our feelings about the game into a cohesive thought instead of the ramble that I would settle for.. We have so much talent.. I feel like a pair of old brown loafers at a white tie event.. To say I'm proud to be a member of the pack is an understatement..

Okay Wolf Pack Pilots, here is the shot you have been waiting for. In a blatant and unabashed complete rip-off of the GI Holiday contest I am going to offer 3, count 'em, three one year subscriptions to dogfight! That's right wolves, you can compete against your brothers and sisters to win a full year of dogfight mayhem!

How it works: Beginning at 1200 GMT on 01/01/2015 and ending at 01/07/2015 at 1200 GMT we will see who can bomb the most hangars in a 7 day span. The top 3 scores will receive enough scratch, either via gift card or some form of electronic transfer, to pay and play for a whole year! WOOT! WOOT!

Greetings Wolves and happy holidays to all. I wanted to take a few minutes and express my sincere thanks to each and every one of you for making the first 6 months of Wolf Pack squadron an exciting and dynamic one. I cannot begin to describe how proud I am to be part of our squadron which is a direct reflection on you, the pilots that comprise Wolf Pack. I can say with utter certainty there isn't a single one of you who is anything less than fun to fly with. Our squad is characterized by loyalty and tough competition mixed with fair game play with class and honor. I am tickled to be your XO. Make no mistake, I am here for you. In other words its not what you can do for me, rather what can I do for you. With that in mind my virtual door is always open, feel free to drop in and let me know whats on your mind. I am always happy to assist any of you with things from flying tips to sponsoring contests to help build our squad in a positive way. People always ask "Why join a squad?". I would like to be able to answer that question with real benefits other than just the great camaraderie.

Along those lines I forsee 2015 to be a very exciting year for our squad. We are opening the year with a contest which will equate to real money for the winners. This will be one of several contests I plan to host throughout the coming year or co-host with our allies: GI. I predict 2015 will see additional WP wings, similar to the command structure of GI's as our squad grows. 2015 will see our first true MORAF as Blackwolf is very, very close at this point. I am hoping to form the first one sometime either late January or early February, unless we have a sudden boom forcing expansion sooner. I am looking into various types of contests which will involve not just WP members, but also members from other squads to keep our squadron moving forward for 2015. Yes Wolves, those plans are in the works. Stay tuned! Ultimately with your help and support I would like to see WP as one of the top squads to be involved with in the upcoming year. Again I would like to stress this is not my squad, but YOUR squad and I welcome any and all feedback regarding its operation and ways to improve upon what we have here.

We are so lucky to have some really great individuals who contribute their time, not only to gameplay but also to the daily squad tasks. Everything from banner creation to spiritual support to technical advice and tactical training. We were the first squadron to have a Squadron Padre. We were the first squadron to openly ally with another squadron and memorializing the alliance in a banner, creating a recognizable symbol which likely will be given 3D life in the coming year.

My 2015 challenge to each one of you is to reach out to our silent majority players, the ones who don't visit the forum, and get them to visit our thread and say hi. This is a great way to connect to other WP players and share tips, strategies, war stories, and general gossip. I realize not everyone has facebook but if we can get 50% or more of our guys and gals active here it can do nothing but good for our squad. My challenge to myself is to make WP a fearsome fighting unit and a fun squad to be a member of. I am looking forward to a great 2015!

red an I had a monster game yeaster day and because I was trained by a snake lol.....a great viper snake ....an way havein a pretty good game day I was able to hang with red a lil bit ....we hooked up in sqd chatt and went into a game to hunt together .....we spawned in a btc game outnumbered our ship had already been hit an we was droped really fast into a war zone lol.....an im proud to say lol red an I started mowin em down fast an kickin some kdr...almost every time red an I made it over to bomb an twice after bombin I played possiom by there ship an tanked when they shot me an bombed some more lol ...but funny thing is about 3 or 4 time we mowed the lawn on em I thought the hi rank pilots wur loseing conn all I seen was left game all ove5r my screen .... but I give skye big props he is always a trooper an very tuff foe and he never stoped sling hot lead our way .....but the ss is at the end of the game and only 2 pilots wur still there ..but like I said it was popin when we spawned in an started howlin an lmao lol lol ...red kept sayin because wur likethe untouchables ...get some get some lol thx red was very short game not even 5 mins but man it was action packed every min !!!!!!OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OW OW OW OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHH

No clue how to get back in game. The new update loaded, but crashes each time. I have Win 8.0 and I will try to get to Win 8.1.

I've restarted computer and no luck. I am concerned about deleting and reloading game--do I lose everything at that point? If I do lose all, I have serious concerns about starting over!

My PC system was installed with Win 8.0, which DF no longer supports. I have attempted to upload 8.1 and asked Zup if I could use 8.0 and his response is: Nope, it needs windows 8.1. Microsoft began following Apple's path on forcing updates, so I can't do much with Windows 8.0 any more.

I am not that computer tech savvy. I attempted to load 8.1 and it said it my semester could not support it.

It will be damn hard to leave this game, but what else can be done? I'll continue to try until I know it's no longer an option.

Dire, my brother. I know Windows 8.1 is the only system that is compatible with DF. I'm still running 7.0, and wish I had the luxury of getting a newer system. I understand many of the current tablets are running 8.1. That's why I play on my phone. Even though my screen isn't very large, I've managed to get better somehow. I don't know if you have an Apple or Android phone, but I sure hope you consider installing the App for DF to stay with us. I use my phone for the game and jump on the computer for the forum.

OMG that seems so far away from me. It's a huge acomplishment. You and Black are amazing pilots, and have earned every one of those Red takedowns. I was with both of you for many of them, and hope to attain that number myself one day. My current goal is to get to the 3 digit ranks myself. I'm only 31 places from it now. You and Kevin have been a great inspiration. Watching you guys pile up the numbers that way really makes me proud to be a part of the undeniably best Squadron within the realm of Dogfight. Many years ago people were heard saying, and wore buttons that said "I want to be like Ike". Well, I wanna be like Viper and Black. Please take that as the utmost compliment to both of you. Where to start, the last paragraph is important, and a Squadron suggestion..

Let's see Dire had me scared so will start there.. I just checked the Squadron stats and all of yours are intact so clearly the problem is fixed.. I will say that the talk of possibly having to leave rocked me, and I know it did others as well.. We need to make some rules about that sorta stuff.. Uhhh.. NO LEAVING ALLOWED.. Only half joking here guys..Digger, Dire, Squeak, Viper.. Guys you were the backbone of the Sqd before our wonderkend Kev, and Pard and I joined.. You guys have an obligation to the greater good of the Sqd.. And need to know that in our eyes you're the old guard and looked up to with respect and friendship.. We talk about those who are succeding .. IE Blacky, for good cause, but none of us "newer" players would feel the way we do about Wolfpack if it weren't for what you "old timers" have established..

Dire also thanks for noticing that I leveled up, that happened as the win stats were on the screen and I didn't think anyone noticed.. Good catch.. As usual we played well together.. Meaning ANY pack members not just Dire and I..at one point we were jokingly accused of being bullies.. And it didn't come from being nice guys, although I think the pack always plays as gentlemen.. I'd like to come up with some short hand two or three letter easy to throw up characters for tactics and run them by XO Wolf.. Pard and I have kicked around the idea, and we think it's a good one.. I love this Squadron guys, and it has zip to do with wolfs, and everything to do with you guys.. In keeping with same I'd like to propose a new award.. "Squadron member of the quarter" .. Month is to close together and year is to long.. I'd like to enter two names for consideration of this award if XO and Skipper approve (pretty sure they will are this would have been in PM) my suggestions for who has done the most for the Squadron are Kevin Blacky Wolf, and James Myrlin Wolf.. I know I'm overlooking some wonderful Suadron mates, and it goes with out saying a good point could be made for anyone of four or five other members.. But when it comes to overall Sqd member of the Quarter I think our first ever should be one of these two.. Can I get a second..

Dear Lord please guide each of us to see beyond the commercial issues of the Holliday and celebrate what it's supposed to be about.. Your redeeming spirit existed from the beginning of time.. Your birth was but a moment ago in Gods time, and the start of salvation for all of us.. Paul asked that you forgive his doubts.. It's the forgiveness that's important, not the doubts.. And in this hi tech world that seems to drift away from you more and more maybe it's important to remember that you control all, even to the point of the calendar.. B.C. And A. D. Before you, and after you.. You existed Lord, and through your miracles, message, and existence in others we know you exist today.. Please do forgive our doubts Father, know we don't want them, and guide us to see the wonderful world you've given us that exists beyond are simple comprehension. A world who's salvation began with your birth.. Two thousand and fourteen years ago..
