Dennis, Is your in-game name different than your forum name.? Some people have two separate names. If you look at our roster, you will see that some of our members have two names.

Also this squad is multi national we have members from everywhere except Mars, but we do have one member who says he's 53 miles west of Mars.. Nazis is hispanic and is a great player and person. His english is limited and we have our translators on 24/7 watch. In fact any language skills is helpful in MOM.. We could use help with the english language as well.. You may want to read our thread from the beginning if you don't have anything to do for about three days? Once you read about us you may want to hide out and play Pong somewhere peaceful. We have a lot of people with aviation backgrounds, whether that helps, your guess is as good as anyones. Welcome to the MOM Squadron if you think we fit into your life style because this is a home away from home at times and you will never meet a nicer bunch of pilots anywhere else on-line and maybe just about anywhere..

The thrust is as Bopes said, "MOMbership is by invitation ONLY. If you're invited come to the thread and introduce yourself...if not, give us your pitch. Either way you only get in by majority vote. DO NOT ADOPT THE MOM TAG unless given permission." And all kinda like that there. I'm sure we could persuade Slenderman to see that a warning disclaimer thingy is posted in the squad tag section of "tools" especially if all squads agree that it's a problem.

Av8rDennis, what's your in-game name? You don't come up in the rankings.

Who pitched Wazzup? And wazzup wit 'im?

I just had a moment with Lesa Two Dots. She and I are now lovers. It was her idea. As Trigger is my witness, it's the troth. Oh, and for the fourth time she declared, "yes I m mom...thank you." Then she said, "I love you". You'll all be invited to the wedding at the Tokyo Econo Lodge. Sputnik, if they quarantine Jimmy at customs I want you to be my best man. I'm a little nervous but I feel surprisingly good. True love with a total stranger half way 'round the world can do that to ya. Ah, l'amour...

This could start a civil war within the mom ranks. Lesa is mine fancy Manhattan. She's way more Brooklyn then uptown. Do not make me go south Carolina on your azz..

M.O.M.Av8rDennis (did I get that precisely right?) welcome to the club! Thanks for understanding our desire to keep things moving forward according to some cobbled together form of protocol. Speaking for myself you certainly sound like the kind of MOM I'd love to have. I believe that'd make you a MILH.

Less aggressive recruitment, always been my and SheiBe's slant. However, if there's a top 100 candidate ripe to drop into our ranks be just exactly as aggressive as you can! I fully intend to redouble my efforts to wear down people like TheVampire, and Rickenfaker...they belong in this squadron and so, I'm sure, do a bunch of others at that level of play and character. So perhaps it's about recruiting just as hard but more selectively.

Paul, I can't tell you how pleased and relieved I am that you're in so much pain! I'm not a "praying" type but I've been pushing as much positive energy your way as my metaphysical hippie Buddhist arse can muster. You're a core component of M.O.M and your recovery is central to our thoughts.

Brian, (or anyone) do you have contact info - say, his full name and hospital room mailing address - for Duckwing? Drop me a PM. Mat (formerly Seven) has an idea he's generously offered and I'd like to follow up on it if we can. Details to follow.

I might've missed the exchange about Wazzup, Mav, that's why I asked. If Waz wants to join and enough "in" votes have already been cast throw one more into the hopper for me.

Lesa Two Dots strikes me as a very positive, upbeat, fun (and brutally skilled) player. I've had numerous missions with and against her and have yet to encounter any "tanking" on her part. I may be biased seeing as we're already picking out invitations and a wedding D.J. (Sput gets control of the cake selection) but I haven't observed any spawny behavior. I've been spawn killed and/or "tanked" by the best of us here and done a bit of (involuntary, mind you) carrier/runway strafing myself, so I don't feel in a position to judge. Even so, I'll sit her down and have a heart to heart with her after the rehearsal dinner.

Nice hat, Keith. Can you tell me where that store is? It gets damned chilly in a hunting blind in Central Park...

I have been playing long enough with the iPhone. So I would have to say iphone since I am able to maneuver better.
If its visibility of hitting the opponent get the biggest screen. The iphone wont help. ;)

Keith, it's MOMsquadron. If you search for that album title on photobucket it should come up. Then just follow the rest of the instructions you have. Be sure to let me know if you run into any other problems. rw

bopes wrote: I think there's two things going on as far as unilateral adopters of the MOM-tag goes:

First, it's not clear from the instructions on the first page of the thread that squad membership is by request or invitation.

People who look at the first page see this:

To join the actual squadron, go here:
www.dogfightplay.com/management/squadmgnt/

To give yourself a Squad-Tag (so we may properly identify ourselves in game), go here .

Second, when they click on those links, there is no prompt saying they have to be invited or accepted first or that otherwise blocks membership in the absence of same.

Even if we make the first one more clear, not everyone reads the squad thread (the same links are accessible through Tools); and the second one is a technical doozy. :) So it's going to be an imperfect system no matter how you slice it.

All that considered, it's to Dennis' credit that at least he came on here and introduced himself after he adopted the tag.

Perhaps we could lay it out differently. The first part about being authorised ect has its own page that's page one, then the go here links at the end of the MOMifesto. And enlarge the text on the part about authorisation, just a thought, I remember when I 'accidentally' joined, I didn't read everything, just clicked the links. By the way I'm very glad I 'accidentally' joined and was allowed to stay. This is a great squad, full of great people and it's the only squad with CAKE!!!!!
Sput I expect extra cake for that
