Hey General, That dweeb, Ace nema (something like that) was wanting to practice cursing in German again today.. I can never get that guy in my sights. He's always across the map somewhere.. He is really offensive in Deutsch, attacking ethnic groups and I just hope our real German friends don't see him in his hateful form.

Re Ace Nemo, if one can believe what he's said of himself in-game recently, then he is a troubled soul indeed. Cursing in German is the least of his problems. I hope he's able to sort them all out before long.

I was flying with wazzup last night. He did have a mom banner. I figured he was voted in last week while I was away. There are so many post on this thread, that if I miss a week, it is nearly impossible to read all that I missed

While I agree, based on my experience to date, that Dennis is a class pilot and that I'd recommend him to MOM any time, I also agree with Wig that we better get some fair process in place so there's at least some oversight to try to ensure some minimum standard for age, character, experience, and Jimmie the Lip appeal...

I think there's two things going on as far as unilateral adopters of the MOM-tag goes:

First, it's not clear from the instructions on the first page of the thread that squad membership is by request or invitation.

People who look at the first page see this:

To join the actual squadron, go here:

To give yourself a Squad-Tag (so we may properly identify ourselves in game), go here .

Second, when they click on those links, there is no prompt saying they have to be invited or accepted first or that otherwise blocks membership in the absence of same.

Even if we make the first one more clear, not everyone reads the squad thread (the same links are accessible through Tools); and the second one is a technical doozy. So it's going to be an imperfect system no matter how you slice it.

All that considered, it's to Dennis' credit that at least he came on here and introduced himself after he adopted the tag.

I have not had a lot of time to either be in the game or on the forum so when reading 200+ posts one gets a different perspective - the first is the feeling of unity in diversity of the members - what a chord this group has hit. While I was an early member (by just being around, not skill) I feel proud to be a small part of this group. Never expected to have an on-line game not only be addicting but uplifting at times. Your spontaneous outpouring of condolence for Kevin and his family, was striking. The group feeling / comradeship in the game tangible.

I wrote and passed along to SheiBe new copy for the intro page of the thread. This was late last night, he may or may not have it in place yet. The thrust is as Bopes said, "MOMbership is by invitation ONLY. If you're invited come to the thread and introduce yourself...if not, give us your pitch. Either way you only get in by majority vote. DO NOT ADOPT THE MOM TAG unless given permission." And all kinda like that there. I'm sure we could persuade Slenderman to see that a warning disclaimer thingy is posted in the squad tag section of "tools" especially if all squads agree that it's a problem.

I know everyone here has an oppinion. Mine is that we not recruit so hard. We have become an extreamly viable entity in Dogfight, basically overnight. Maybe we should let the dust settle around us and see where we are. Let the players come to us. let others see how M.O.M s differ from all the other squadrons. That our values and setting higher standards of fair play by example, are more important than Writen Rules of Play.

So, you wonderful ingrates of M.O.M... Go do your thing of raising hell in-game and having others want to grow up and be just like M.O.M...
