Here is a picture of the Hurricane Grill in Marathon Fl. This place is the real inspiration for the Jolly Roger. I used to frequent this place in my early 20's, and it's still one of my favorites. Good food, great live music, laid back atmosphere, and nothing pretentious or fake about it. As far as I know, it's still open, but I haven't been to the Keys in several years. So there ya'll go. This is what spawned the idea for this thread. And, if I had the money, the idea would be more than a thread on an airplane game...

Just wait some days. It will be a pleasure!

Edit: Quoting your request, Jack: "A Jackalope in front of a run down bar with a rusty ship out back and a few planes parked out front."

Jackalop - check;
rusty ship out back - check;
few planes parked out front - check;

The only part I didn't get was the "run down bar"... Tried google-translating it, no success. What means "run down"?

Edit 2: Thanks Blue Dane, for explaining what "run down" means: old, tired, in need of repair...

Run Down Bar Mean's, old and still standing, Your Banner with the looney bin is probably a little extreme lol.. Hope that helps a little..... It's alway's a treat for me to see you ask these question's, It bring's back memories for me... I constantly had to explain myself or ask for people to explain themselvs while overseas..... was fun.....
Thanks Ped... :) Don't ever be afraid to ask on here.... :)

To all of my valued customers,

I'm trying to hire a new bartender. I've been doing a little recruiting, and extended a certain player a job offer, but I've yet to hear back one way of the other. But, I still remain hopeful. This player should bring some intelligent conversation to our little establishment, and is as neutral as any player could be. As it was put to me the other day, we are the Switzerland of squads around here, and if this player will accept the job offer, I think that our neutrality will really be carved in stone. Plus, this player is a heck of a nice person.

So, everyone keep your fingers crossed and buy lots of food and drinks, as even if this player says yes, I have no idea how we are going to be able to afford it. I'll figure out something though.

As much as we like you jack the bar has been missing something as of late. A new face around here would be a welcome sight . Just make sure whoever you get know how to deal with us crazies(ie the tranquilizer gun you keep behind the bar).

I usually just put special "flavoring" in your drinks. It always keeps you guys nice and calm.

Morning Jack,
Who's the new lucky bar tender?
Not sure you should compare yourself to Switzerland. Although technichally neutral in WW2 it retained economic ties with Germany. It even had an active (though not very succesful) Nazi party.
For obvious reasons Switzerland was a hive of espionage, covert negotiations and prisoner exchanges. Perhaps that last part is appropriate!
Ronnie

Umm... Yea.. The last part may or may not be appropriate.

I'm still working hard to recruit the new bartender. So far I haven't received an acceptance. If they don't, it'll be a great loss that none of you will ever know about... And I'll be very disappointed. This player has a lot to bring to the table, and I'm mainly trying to recruit them for their conversational ability and wide range of knowledge on many subjects. Aka, a good bartender is a good conversationalist and also a good listener. This person definitely qualifies. So, my fingers are crossed.

Good Morning All

I finally received my answer, and it's a YES!!!

So, starting today, our new bartender is Manfred. Think of him as the old retired cop who is just working cause he doesn't like sitting around the house all of the time. In the mean time, he has left his old life behind, and will be joining us for a fresh start, and more relaxing lifestyle. So, if he wishes to share with us about his previous life as a mod, we'll be happy to listen, but beyond that we'll leave his past in the past. If he told us some of it, he'd have to kill us anyway, so that would suck.

With all of that said, don't forget to tip well!

Jacklpe

I totally agree. I was reading the Asiana thread yesterday, and it occurred to me that he was now a free agent, and he has just the right temperament and "style" to make a great bartender here. Plus, he's nobody's pushover, and controls angry mobs really well so that will really help out here from time to time. Also, he is about as neutral as they come when it comes to the squads, so everyone should feel comfortable talking to him, even if say the Misfits and M.O,M (or whoever else) ever go at it. I'm happy about it, and I know he will bring a totally different perspective than my own to the place, without turning it into a bar like the piano bar up the road.

How about a nice free glass of Jack Daniels? We're supposed to be saving the Crown for something huge, like when Dave makes MORAF. That might take a while, but it's not like whiskey goes bad. Although this could be pushing it.

I'll put the cigar on your tab. Try these pumpernickel snacks, only part of chex mix worth eating and Dave bought a half trailer's worth. That's a lotta crackers.

Glad to be here ya'll. Thanks for the job Dave!

MANAMONGMEN,
I'll have the CROWN before it goes bad...waiting on DAVE. 1st bottle ever to have a chance to go bad. Can I have the purple bag?

Wellers it is. That cigar stinks something awful.

Hey kind of slow today. Everyone working late? I thought maybe --J-- would be wandering in around this time. Or staggering in. Keep an eye out, he sometimes stumbles past and misses the door.

Mantz, don't you know the purple bag looks like a purse without the bottle in it?

I'm going to toast up some other snacks. Anyone like those little smokey dogs wrapped in crescent rolls?

Well I can already see that I made a great choice in recruiting Manfred. He's doing a hell of a job. I think I'm going to start listing our staff members (all 3 of them on page one). Jacob is only a consultant, but we'll count him.

Manfred, we still have loads of Makers Mark bourbon from that time we kidnapped housed General Jack. Dixie was a really good friend to him that day.

Also, just so you know Manfred, there is a sawed off double barrel 12ga with a pistol grip and an Aluminum baseball bat that has been loaded with lead shot in the end under the bar, and I'll show you the other room in the back that's got the majority of the rest of our arsenal in it, including a General Electric 7.62 minigun. Needless to say, we are prepared for most anything.

If you ever forget your keys, Parrot has a set. He hasn't been around too much lately though.

Also, active duty Military members' first rounds are free, and 1/2 off the first to veterans.

Man, I'm very glad to have you. I hope you enjoy the job.

Folks, make sure to tip your bartender.

Yea, don't wait up on me to make MORAF anytime soon. I've practically stopped playing b/c of the 7/1 games, screen freezes, and jittery performance of the game. When it gets a little better, I may get back to work. It is kind of painful watching folks that I killed as aspirants zooming by me, but I'll live with it I guess. I'm not that good when everything is working right, so when it's not I'm practically useless. In the mean time, I'll just try to keep focusing on this little project. I'm very happy with how it's progressing. Pretty good for an idea that took about 15 seconds to come up with, and about 4 minutes to hatch. I'm kinda proud of it now.

Everyone have a great night, and take care of Noush and YEMX, if he happens to stop by tonight. I'll be in and out tonight, so if anyone needs me just holler.

Have a good evening Jackie. Noush, here's that bacardi with a little coke coloring - you'll barely taste the bubbles. Or anything at all if you have a few of those ;)

BigC, extra limes, here's a whole lime cut in a swirly. I took a knife carving class.

Yellow, as the noob bartender, I accidentally threw all the beer bottles into the ice box this morning. Sorry, definitely a Yankee mistake. I held this Blandford bottle under my armpit while preparing the other drinks. I think it's close now.

Wow busy place!
