Hey all,

i was just speaking with rudolph rednose about cooking and realized i hadn't seen a thread about food on the forum yet. I am sure we have some expert culinarians in our ranks here on DF. so here's a place to share your favorite recipes, ask and answer questions, or share pictures of your gourmet achievements. spring time is coming so i'm sure we can get some salad recipes shared....
i'll start with a picture of stuffed chicken breast i made for my girlfriend a month or so back....

chicken stuffed with basil, fresh mozzarella, capers, sun dried tomatoes, lemon zest, s+p with olive oil. it is served with roasted parmesean potatoes and sauteed spinach. i even saved a basil leaf for garnish, what a dork i am!

i'm interested to see and hear everyone's ideas about this. we all eat.

so what the heck? rock the discotheque!

Vodka Stew

Ingredients:

One fifth of vodka (2 fifths or more if you're having company)
A couple of peeled and diced potatoes, pre-boiled

Instructions:

Throw everything in a pan.
Heat slowly to simmer. Do not overcook!
Serve immediately.

Note: Leftovers keep indefinitely, but don't last long.

Aahh I've made quite a few things, It's my responsibility to make Lunches each and every day (with my brother) and I help a lot with making supper sometimes doing most of it on my own and sometimes just settin the table. but overall I really enjoy baking, cooking, frying, boiling and everything else there is to do in a kitchen:) (Except clean up)

That looks pretty good seeing you made that a month ago!! Why did you wait so long before serving?

well thanks for the feedback. boiling water and making toast are important skills to posses indeed. but i do need to get better acquainted with baking. i just recently started messing around with dessert. so darraxx, if you have any easy bread recipes that'd be excellent.
and btj, i guess i just didnt want to rush. she was unable to tell the difference.

Hi all,

I am a total novice in my wife's kitchen......(I put in the kitchen.....she cooks)

Zup asked us what we wanted him to do for the next Dogfight, and I thought anti aircraft guns would be nice.
Then I realised that I (and probably a great many of you!) get enough 'flack' from the misses already for playing hours on end.

Cooking your way out of the doghouse,....to play Dogfight another day, is one option!

This is what Helped mé: The Gordon Ramsey app......
Easy to understand, and every try a succes.....

This is what I am making today......so I'll be missing out on the game this evening ( nudge, nudge, whink, whink....)

Mac, that may be so, but some of the most popular threads are on topics that are completely unrelated to the actual game, and are simply people sharing thoughts, ideas, and interests with each other.

here's an interesting one...whenever heather works and i have the day off i like to make something for lunch break. here's a blah wednesday lunch of ham, cabbage and rice with a salad. the twist is in the pineapple relish sitting above the ham. i had a pineapple so i minced some pineapple and red bell pepper and added black pepper, curry powder, ground mustard and a bit of balsamic. i put it on the heat in a saute pan for about 3 minutes to heat it through. the flavor of the relish itself was a tad flat, but when combined with the salty ham it was a nice lunch indeed.

ps. zebraup, if you'd like leftovers i can box you up an e-doggybag.
pps. i decided to serve this meal today while it was still warm and not wait one month as i said in my first post.
