If they were smart they would sell it on Craigslist. It's gotta be more than the $10 reward they would get lol :woohoo:
You're cheap, maybe if you offered $20 more people would give em back :)

Well I don't say how much and most people just want to give it back...I give them a boomerang just to share the love...I have 2 booms I have been offered over $200 for but I won't sell.

Alrighty Snide! Here's my "ferocious, bodacious, vivacious, vicarious, low-to-the-ground, hard-to-bring-down, bobbin', weavin', shaking, baking, stopping on a dime, leaving 9 cents behind, number one and second to none" (well -- almost ;)) --

Plastic boomerang. I also placed a U.S quarter next to it for size reference.

Wow Slender, I am most impressed that it actually returns! I hope I'm not offending you but usually they are so bent from heat or abuse they barely fly. I think I am quite familiar with that boom since it's the same one I see often when I am at the park I throw at. Some poor Mom and little boy who had dreams of an actual returning boomerang bought one at where ever and they are wondering if I can show them how it works...some I can get back into shape, most no...I usually give them a plastic tri-fly or anything else I can find in my bag so they can have one that works 100% of the time. I always keep boomerangs for little kids since my daughters friends always like to try :) Surprisingly one 6 year old little girl is the only kid under 10 to bring one all the way back. I have a deal with all the kids in my neighborhood...whomever throws and catches a boomerang gets to keep one for free.

And after reading Kestral's post...I think I missed that you wanted one? I don't mind at all, all of us give booms to people whenever we can to share the love and hopefully create some addicts. Our sport is very small and anything we can do to help it grow. So would you like me to make you one? Same for you Kestral...really I don't mind it just may take some time.

Hahahah, yeah! No offence at all -- you're equally as surprised as I was! I really wasn't expecting a whole lot of a standard plastic boomer. This one is actually pretty thick. I'd say about 4-5 mm thick actually and pretty hard to bend. Which is exactly why I bought it, hahahah! But like you said -- it took a long while to even learn how to get it to return. It was like starting a game on the hardest difficulty there was.

I'll have to do a video sometime of it returning. :)

I don't wish to bug you or anything but -- do you think after you make one for anyone else who asked, you could make me one as well? I would do anything to be able to throw one of your pieces of craftsmanship as opposed to my current one. :P

Actually -- I'm really interested in those triblades/triwings! They look very modern and seem to offer lots of speed & precision -- perfect for hand-eye-coordination training! Do you think you could make something like the ones used in the Fast Catch event?

The painting doesn't have to be crazy either! I'd be happy with a simple black boomerang -- or a black one with grey stripes on it in whatever way you think looks the coolest.

Would that be okay, Snide?

I have extras if that is what you want... I have already made 5 for fast catch...like this:

I have just a few of those :)

So if that cool I will send you that one. Here is the deal with fastcatch...Now I will say since you are looking for a specific flight path these take a bit more tuning to get them just right. It's made from abs so it has some 'memory' for shape. Twisting and lifting the wings changes the flight quite dramatically and adding elastic bands wound up on the wings helps gain a small amount of distance but mostly allows it to not get kicked around by wind so much. When you twist the wing tips you change the range of the boom. Clockwise turn reduces the angle of attack AoA and gives more range and a couter-clock wise increases AoA so the range is shorter. If you lay the boomerang on the table the amount the tips are bent up or down in relation to the table surface is called dihedral. The more dihedral or tips up you give the higher the boomerang will want to be when it flies around and vice versa. You throw these booms at 12'oclock so perfectly vertical as hard as you can with as much spin as you can to have it travel around in a fast circle just above your head like it's on a rail. The US boomerang coach says if it's not level flight you are wasting time when the boom is flying up and back down or vice versa. The pros throw over-vertical which is say 11:30 and higher to handle wind better. By doing this they can avoid the back face of the boomerang to be facing the wind as much reducing the chance it gets blown off it's path. They have enough power that the small time lost is less important than the boom coming right where they want it.

So once you play around a bit and figure out the tune for your power and spin you will have it whipping around you in no time. You may want a glove :) Everyone else uses one, I don't because apparently I don't like skin on my knuckles :) You will get a lot of people staring at you whne you do this...the holes make them sort of buzz as they go round.

Those are fantastic!! And that sounds exactly up my alley -- with everything I get, I'm constantly modifying and tweaking things. Especially with electronics -- that's why I'm heavily into the jailbreaking scene.

And actually -- the one that appeals to me the most is the first image (white with black stripes). Would that one be okay, Snide? :)

Ah, guess I totally did. Probably because I just realized what a "Kylie" was, hahahah! I can't believe how interesting the history of boomerangs are! It's what I've been studying in my free time. :)

Hello Whip!
Gee goly! Now Thats a tough one to get her to do it, cos i was like going back errr.....at least 7 yrs ago matey when i was working in the city. :side:
The city has changed since then.
Yes it was Dot Art done on canvas, looked pretty impresive if u ask me.
But I wouldn't ask ya if Yak didn't have a plan. ;)
Plan A. Go to a pre-school and get them pre-schoolies to do one up for ya.........hmmmmm....might look more like caveman style. Hand prints + smudges of food stains and don't ask what the other stain is. I don't want to know either.
Or
Plan B. I'll follow up some info from the school my son goes to, He had gone on an excursion where they talked about Aboriginal culture with real Aboriginal people. Thats my best bet.He told me it wasn't far Hmmmmm........Idk?
Or
Plan C. By luck I find her again. If that was the case i wished my luck went to a lottory ticket instead.
Or
Do it myself programe otherwise u can buy a boomarang painted at a duty free shop but if u ask me they look and feel fake. for sure they don't fly back and my wife hell wont fetch it for me.
Don't worry i'll get the info before we can discus other info such as what boomarang u going ta get painted, how it will look such as patterns etc........
Let me know if theres anything i missed. :)

Well if you ever want to ask anything please feel free. Boomerangs are DEEP with history and physics and craftmanship. You would be hard pressed to find something more complicated. Once the hunt is over and I have more time I will put up a bit more info on Kylie golf it's great...I'm playing today I bet :)
