I am a pilot. An aircraft engine WW2 era mechnic. I have been simming since 1988 age 8.

There is nothing on the market even close. My connection and crash issues have been virtually nil except during 3rd party difficulties. The amount of work done in creating and operating this game is staggering.

Zup. Thank you. Dont lose your house keeping the servers open. Keep faith that you can and must charge more for the use of your simulators. Existing game, future plans, charge more. Teenagers hound their parents into paying $60 per year to play Call of Duty, by the tens of millions of copies! Us junkies will come back, pay whats fair (to you, Zup) and be glad it's on the market.

Ever hear the expression "once bitten, twice shy"? Perhaps I simply wanted to wait a bit longer to see what happens and thanks to your "non-lecture" I see I made the right choice. Do whatever you wish with my account as long as you cancel all transactions as of today. I will be freezing the credit card I used so no further charges can be made. Consider the fact that you have an unvaluable and huge list of loyal customers; other developeds needs to research, prospect the market to test their product's acceptation by people; yours is already tested. Hey guys im back. I have been running around the game all day spreading the word. U would not believe what i have heard. Alot of people think elite is free, never even heard of donations. I think i have gotten at least 3-5 people to donate. I will not stop and ohopefully we can get this done. 150,000 starts with 1. One person can make a difference. Lets let everyone that is playing about the df shut down. This will give them a wake up call. If we can aware people about whats happening( preferably noobies since most dont have df accounts) . Let them know just $5 can help. One guy thought u had to do some huge 100$ donation. He said he can afford a $15 one though. We will c how that turns out but for now we must spread the word on the game. The forum can speak for itself. The game cant. We have to let the players know what is going on.

- to Zup. I am sorry I said I could not donate because of all the glitches the new ipad update created. I was extremely frustrated having gone from a relatively stable game to on that froze, disconnected and crashed a full third of the time.
I understand the pressures you are under and realize they far exceed my frustrations with a game. My sincere apologies.

- to Dr. Dave. You were like Jimminy- friggin- Cricket in my head! I now carry a bomb on all my bomb runs....including the first. I get my arse handed to me a little more now, but it is nice to stay on mission and be successful. Thanks for pushing me to become better.

- to anyone who has complemented me in game or just said hi recently. I have been reluctant to chat back. Half the time I try to chat, the game crashes. Apologies for this. I am not ignoring you at all. But until some fixes are made, I don't want to risk getting booted mid game as has happened lately. I have been booted out of some very good games with some great people and it is frustrating. Maybe I will wiggle my wing at you in response or loop or something to acknowledge..... something...

I'm not donating for you... I'm donating a hundred towards the creation of a new release. If there is some fee when it actually happens, I'm sure your parents will go for it. But, as it stands right now, as a kid there should be no reason that you should feel strong armed into pledging to create something that does not currently exist. Forget all of the happy heartfelt stuff... This is a business transaction in which Zuperman is raising capital for his business goals. Now, I like the game, but I'm an adult with a family of my own. I also own my own business. I can make the decision as to whether I want to fund something like this. By doing so, I am taking a risk. There is no physical product that I am purchasing. Your parent(s) have made the choice for you that you will not be risking real money on something that does not currently exist. That's a lot different than going to the store and buying the game. As much as you seem to love this game, I'm sure that they will be happy to discuss buying the actual product when it is available.

In short... My money that I am risking for Zuperman to create a new product can "represent" you, me, and a few other people too. Yes, if it goes as planned, I will receive some reward. If not, I'll lose a hundred bucks. That is not necessarily the best thing for a kid to be involved in.

One day you'll realize that your parents batting average on being right is probably about 98%. Right now, trust them and be content with what they tell you to do.

Good news (I hope), I finally got influential gaming site Rock Paper Shotgun to take notice of DF Elite after I emailed RPS writer Tim Stone about his story yesterday on the passing of legendary flight sim developer Jim Mackonochie . Here is what he replied:

Actually Jacklpe, if it doesn't go as planned you lose no money because nobody who pledged is charged if the funding goal is not met. What we all will lose (pledgers and non-pledgers alike) is the ability to keep playing and enjoying this game if it does not go as planned.

I am sorry to ask, but do we have only one chance with Kickstarter? I mean, can they restart the pledge over again, sort of a second chance?
Now that more people are aware and understand the project and second chance will bear better results than this.

1: The contributions are going to the creation of Dogfight Elite. Dogfight Elite is being marketed as a new and seperate game from the one we currently have. Many of the stated rewards for the contributions are allowing a player a part in the creation process aka: There is no Dogfight elite currently... The money will be paid if the contribution goal is met.... Then we have to trust Zuperman to follow through with the creation of this new game. Obviously I believe him, because I pledged. But, if Dixie's parents don't want to fund a new project, then that's their choice. As for saving our current game, I've read all that Zup wrote and I respect it, but he probably better be very careful using funds that he raises very specifically for a "new" game, to "save" the current one. In all of the sales pitch on his kickstarter page, saving the current game is not a stated goal. I'm sure he has that little item under control, but it is still an "item". I understand that the new game will eventually be used to replace this one, but by everything I have read it is still a seperate and new game.

2: As a 14 year old kid, he needs to do what his parents tell him to do... Maybe that's lost in the brave new world we live in, but its the truth. I contributed 100. That's more than enough for 1 person... That's why I told him it that mine could "stand" for whatever he might "owe" too. If we lose the game, we lose it. I would hate it, but life will go on. But, no one needs to be teaching him how to undermine his parents over this.
