I have flown with/against many mentioned. My feeling is: If they have been here to respond to your invites & they don't, don't serenade out-side their window. Everyone has pluses & minuses. Personally, I look at GAMES WON, not kills. Bragging on kills is self-serving. TEAM-MATE? You won't respect yourself in the morning. Invite someone who WANTS to be a MOM. I'm feeling cheap with the the way some are acting. Ask her out, she says no, or doesn't respond? I want to fly with pilots that WANT to fly with me. TO BE A M.O.M is to be desired. At least, that's what I thought.

I say we do like mrs kopf says and put an ad in the personals. Not too kinky so don't let Dent or Paul or ... or ... come to think of it don't let anyone who's already in the squad write it. Maybe mrs kopf should write it.

Anyway we'll work that detail out later. So we puts the ad out (can we put it on the blimp?) and the first five or ten people to respond will have to soldier on Duckwing Mountain and duel to the death with pistols. Last one standing gets the nod.

Well, there went what I thought was the perfect, poetic answer to the "Who will be M.O.M #100?" question. Having heard through the grapevine that Junkers was interested in rejoining M.O.M the rest of the story told itself. What could be more symmetrical than member #100 being the prodigal member we all missed so much returning to the fold?

But...Junk rained all over my parade by requesting not to be #100. So one of two things has to happen; we very briefly delay Pffft's official entry into the squad....similarly make Junkie wait till the 100th member is determined...or admit Pffft, readmit Junk, suspend someone for a week then readmit him after the 100th thingy is completed. Okay, so three, three things.

OR...we name the 101st M.O.M as M.O.M #100. That, if you happen to axe me, is classic M.O.M logic all the way.

I quite agree Mr. Flymagic. I've pestered and I've cajoled (a lot of players in this community practically have to be dragged kicking and screaming onto the forum, it's nothing to do with interest or lack thereof, just a form of Forumphobia) but I've never begged. And even the pestering/cajoling is in the spirit of a joke. Dragon10000, Samweb and coolhandluke would think I was sick if I didn't intentionally annoy 'em about joining M.O.M at least once per encounter, and even with them I've backed it off...like the Tex Avery wolf said in Three Little Pups, "break it up, son...joke's over.")

What I envision for this deal is that we continue for a couple more days taking names submitted by M.O.Ms...see who garners the most thumbs up...inform that player, whether it amounts to an actual invitation or, as in the case of someone already squadded up, a simple doff of the cap for engendering M.O.M respect...if they're suitably moved to join, that's that...if they take it as a compliment but decline, that's also that...then we can either move to the next highest vote getter, or just move on with the daily recruiting and tap the best of the current crop for the dubious honor. It's all just by way of saying, "Hey world! We're a hundred M.O.Ms strong! And that plus three bucks will get us a cup of coffee with a hundred straws at Starbucks!"

I've used up all my fingers and toes and the cats paws and it comes out at 101, what am I getting wrong? Do I need to
get a new abacus with all the little and big beads on it? Should I get one that has different coloured beads? Should I increase my medication by making the spliff longer or fatter?

Muckadoodle, your numbers are correct. Therein lies your mistake.

Mbizzi is "old" M.O.M #90. We have 7 "young" M.O.M Prodigies. Of the 4 "pending" members 3 are (tell me if I'm wrong) already approved. 1 has not followed up. That's 100. Therefore the next M.O.M to join will be #101, which, in MOMese, makes him/her/it the 100th M.O.M!! Striker, check that against Rules 6 and 12 and make sure my math is correctly incorrect, please.
