Yeah, good times, M4rtin... I remember spending all night of february 19, 1996, when I got internet access for the first time, through a US Robotics modem running on my 486 DX2 66 mhz. And it was my scond PC (the first one was a 386 DX 40 mhz, 4 mb ram, 128 mb capable hd).

We are really old, my friend... ;-)

Bell, I need the little ones. But don't worry, it is not too hard to find some here in my hometown. And about the Compac 386 you have, is it a desktop or a laptop??? And if it is a laptop, is it still working?? :blink:

Edit: Just out of curiosity... Does any industry still make floppy disks nowadays??

My school got a P.E.T.Computer that played space races! My dad came home with an 8" floppy under his arm and a BBC A computer. Then came B.A.S.I.C language, games like Defender, Chucky Egg, PacMan. I just heard myself, im a gamer arnt I :lol: I might be able to get you some 3 1/2" floppy discs and have an idea for postage to your neck of the woods. Have left a message with a friend who owns a bric a brac shop, he gets all sorts of retro gear come in.

Wow, I sort of opened a pandora's box!!!! hahahahaha

Don't lose your time worrying about floppy disks, friends. Thanks, but it is not necessary. But about a IDE hard disk, hmmm... I believe the one is installed on that Compaq is near death... If some of you knows anyone that can waste a good-health old laptop hard-drive (2,5" size), IDE type (not SATA, its a first gen IDE!), with 4 to 30 gb capacity, I would gladly pay a little amount for it! :whistle:

Edit: to Chocks Away: Wow, if your friend have an old IDE HD for laptops, please let me know! And thank you!!!

While we're on the subject. I heard about this as an interviewed on national radio a year ago, now I know why I remembered it for so long, it might be worth knowing about. You can ask someone travelling to the parcels destination to take it over with them! They are called mmmule.com.

Pedrinho wrote: To Davy Crocket and all MOMs: although I am an addicted, some of you know that I am not a player that plays too often. Never was. In the last weeks, I spent less time playing, because of real life issues and, of course, because of my little Laura. :P

But now, things are even better: it will be hard to find me in DF skies for a long while, cuz I got a real oldie-goldie: A very good-shaped Compaq Armada 1750 notebook, with its amazing 366 mhz clock (my Galaxy SII have 8 times more), 192 megabytes of RAM (my phone has 5 times this ammount), 6 gigabytes capable hard-drive (my phone has 48 gb), running Windows 95 (but I will install the good old DOS 6.22 / Windows 3.11 couple on it too!). This wonderfull piece of crap is fully functional, including its floppy drive (!!!), its CD-ROM drive, its amazing speakers, its TV-Out (believe me!), and its very single USB (v 1.1) port!!! Can you imagine my joy?

(Well, while I can't afford a karmann ghia, I need to exercise my oldies-goldies-love with something less expensive...)

The hard part of this hobbie will be to find out where to buy (or find) some floppy disks...
But now, I can play again my good old "Alone in the Dark I", and the amazing "The Lost Vikings". Envy me, young players!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

No, Sput, I won't explain to you what this is all about... Go find it yourself, you little geek! ;-)

Nice computer ped!:lol: Im just here with my motherboard with a 01' Intel Celeron running at 2.1 Mhz.
You need floppys? I got a bunch of them over here.
And this is what I'm fixing as of now

Ahh man, I just did the biggest mistake this mounth... :blink:
I'm at work, and most of you guys knows I'm a welder.
The filter on the mask needed to be changed but I didn't have time to do it.
So I just took off the gasfilter and keept working.
After a while I feelt the need to eace the preshure a bit.
My belly isnt what its suposed to be so I let go of one of the rotten egg ones...
With no gasfilter and the air intake 4" above the a.. well you get the picture...

Ah a schoolboy error. Mine was to put my face down into my shirt neck to avoid the rancid smell of walking into a well spent festival portable loo. As soon as I took up flying position the smell from the abyss below ran straight up the inside of the shirt and up deep into my nostrils :sick: :sick: That will never leave me :sick:

M4. I think I'm having device promlems. Again I can't type and as far as I know MOM was over my head in the last few I flew.

On top of that I'm having a fairly good night other than hitting the play again button.

Oh well. Thanks. And hi to everyone that tried to say hi

Davy, M4 like 3 times. In-pipe, blob. Dr dave, and whoever else may have slipped my mind.

Something weird is my first game I was able to speak. Davy was there with whosthisguy. That's why I think its on my end.

So for those of you I flew with in THAT btc game last night, I apologize for my bitchiness. I got pretty frustrated with that no name.... Squiggly lines, a couple balls, more squiggly lines

No names already piss me off. They are hard enough to see for most folks and suspect a little more difficult for the us colorblind mooks. This guy was lagging hard. Registered hits doing nothing and he was blinking/jumping all over and on top of all of that he was dumping his bombs on take off. He made it to our boat (easily, nothing was killing him when you could see him) and went into a spawnkilling frenzy. Tried timing take offs, but because of the way he was jumping around, I couldn't get it right. After the 6th death on deck, I got a little pissy. I really have no idea what I texted, but there were a lot of stars. The lagging wasn't his fault, but he was using it to full advantage and had no reserve when it came to spawnkilling.

So anyway, I'm sure my bitching didn't make the game more fun for anyone... Apologies.

I'll see him again when he doesn't have that advantage and get some pay back. At one point I was 2 kills and 12 deaths, not the usual kind of scores I put up, but I'll even that out.

If y'all see him and get the chance, show him how fun spawnkilling is for the target. (Max, Dogss and DIESEL, that's to y'all especially... I want screen shots!)

See y'all up there a little later, gotta go earn that money I use to pay for cellular data and wifi.
Fuck this place. Second rate hack playing in a yard that's too big for him.

Gary, he has been doing that since I have been playing. He also stated several times he is there just to kill. I called him out on his not being a team player, just being there to get kills, got my arse handed to me by a couple of others saying that is how he plays. He even admitted that he is not interested in the mission, just wants to kill!

Just wanted you to know that it is not isolated to you ;) or the game you were in, just how he plays!

He is not the only one, there seems to be quite a few lately. Also there are several who wont face you head on, they corkscrew past you than shoot you down before you can even start turning. My plane will not allow me to dogfight very well lately, better since new update but still much slower than some. That really takes the fun out of the game sometimes. You have to drop your bomb to even try. I will never do that except on short final on a bomb run.

I do not know where these pilots enjoy this kind of fighting.

So I was reading the thread on long range accuracy shooting and people were giving tips. I didnt post this because I didnt want it in the hands of the enemy lol I thought I would share this with OUR team though. I don't really do this but it works.... If you are using a apple device double tap your screen with two-three fingers and it will zoom in on the reticle. Then double tap again for it to go back. I don't know if this is common knowledge so forgive me if it is.

~~~°°~~~ always dump on takeoff. I'm not used to seeing him facing other players in a head on like he did last night though.
His name puts the plane far much lower then we are used to. Compare the altitude of ~° and an underline _ and you will get a hint of where to aim ~°_
Parrot I spawned into that game right after your little meltdown and I don't think anyone was offended by you.
When you wrote that he wasn't even answering he laught.
Personally I think he gets of on making other players mad, and I have to admit, he usually succeeded with that against me.
I do not usually have an issue going up against squiggles. I'm not saying he can't usually shoot me down, but I usually give as good as I get, maybe better. Last night he was aided by his heavy lagging. Again the lag wasn't his fault, it was the 6+ spawnkills in a row that pissed me off. I can usually time take off using the brakes and a revved engine to get up and away from a SKer, but with the lagging there was no way to tell where he was. I could see him pass in front of me and he'd blink/disappear and reappear behind. It was impossible to time it based on anything but luck. Several times I filled my screen with registered hits with no result. I was frustrated with the lag as much as anything. The spawn killing is something I'll return given the opportunity.
My request to my fellow MOMs is to not give any quarter, he doesn't deserve it. I know from experience the specific MOMs I challenge are capable returning the spawn killing gesture.
