Lemme know what island(s) you're wondering about. I spent a couple years, off and on, down island. Mrs Parrot even attended the University of the Virgin Islands in St Thomas. I know a bit and would be glad to help.

The cost of living isn't so bad, but some things are quite different. Residentially speaking, creature comforts and services (ie utilities) may not be what your used to, if your not packing loads of cash.

Fuck this place. Second rate hack playing in a yard that's too big for him.

It's something She'd like to do... She's a pharmacist and from what I gather from her, Getting a job there wouldn't be that hard to do... I'm an aircraft Mechanic with many year's of experience on Dash 8's. (I think they have them there) My main concern is little Dent(she's 13). I want to make sure she's in a good school.
Right now We're just looking into it. It's one of our possibilities when we sell the house...I figured with the cultural background here on the forum we could find out more about it.
Mrs Dent is trying to get me to go to college (something I've never done, It show's)for engineering or landscape architecture. I guess there's alway's a first time for everything (46 years old). Little Dent take's priority over me....
I guess we would have to look into the american side of the Island's because of her license's.. Not sure...
I can get all kinds of Info from the internet, Info from someone that has been or lived there is usually better.

Response to Dent. WARNING!!! Long drawn out rambling!

Dent,

Not sure how the license works, but it should be good for the USVIs and Puerto Rico.

As far as USVIs go, St Thomas is the most touristy and also has the most shady areas. A lot of places for a young teen girl to find trouble. At the risk of offending others, I'll still say this. If you end up in the USVIs the demographics are different than anywhere in the states. For Mrs Parrot, the biggest cultural adjustment was getting used to being the minority. There are plenty of folks down there that treated her less than desirable, because she was different. On Charlotte Amalie, the main strip in St T, everyone is smiles and loves you (your money). Leave that area and you better know where you're going. While the Mrs was there a young US Navy officer ventured off the beaten path, "looking for love in all the wrong places" and caught bullet to the head. The Navy actually suspended all stops to that island for a long while. File that one under "nice place to visit".

If I had my druthers, I'd settle in St John. Less tourist and more ex-patriots. It's more of a "residential" island. There's a lot less 10 T-shirts for $1 kinda places there. I don't know much about St. Croix, other than its less populated than the other 2.

USVIs... St John is my pick. I know nothing of the schools...

PR, is a great place. It has the only rainforest in the US. El Junque, if I remember correctly. (Pronounced El Yun-Kay). You can function with English, but you won't be able to not learn Spanish after being there a while. San Juan and the areas around the Navy base, Roosevelt Rhodes, can be a little rough, but get away from the city and its a wonderful place. I spent a lot time on the other side of the Island, in Ponce (Pon-Say). Fishing around the island is outstanding! Lots of historical sites, google El Castilo. Almost a friggin medieval castle in the Caribbean, go figure! This is going to sound a little hippyish, but my favorite thing about PR... It's called The Island of Music, La Island de Musica, because of a rare population of tree frogs. The coque, el coque (co-key) is a tree frog that only lives in PR and Guam. You take off either of those islands and they die. Something in the environment sustains them and last I heard, scientist are baffled by what it is. Get away from the city or even anywhere with more than 3 trees together and their song, which is where the get their name... Co-key Co-key Co-key Co-key, fills the air. All of them singing together is a truly magical sound... I warned you... Hippyish. If you ever experience it, you'll appreciate it.

Dent, if I had the chance to move down island, I'd jump on. I wouldn't hesitate once. I might change my mind after a year or more there, but I would definitely do it!

pilot is African Warrior...remember he trash talked on here awhile back. You never see the two in the same game like superman..because of my skills most people thought i was strach for a long time because we flew at different times. African downtalked a noob in a ctc game a month ago who was trying to learn what to do,as for me im shooting on sight..i WILL BE COLOR BLIND. EDIT: African was flying a MoM tag then as well.

Help I'm being sabotaged, i keep losing connection while playing a game, it's the government, when it happens a black SUV drives by, well ok it's not always black, sometimes they are red, blue and other colors, i just know its them though.

Then a helicopter will fly over, of course it may have a cross on it to look like a medic flight but i know it's them.

Why are they after me, why won't they let me play, WHY WHY WHY. I think they are following me to. Everywhere i go I see someone behind me or in front of me. They are always looking at me.

How do you get away from them, why won't they let me play. Im crying again. Somebody help.

I know what you need to do, I'm there, experiencing the same problems with the British government.

You need to think about the F117A, its all about angles, speed and agility.

So get out those 80's shoulder pads, install vegetable samosas at every 4 inch intervals sown into your clothing to get the 78 degree angle needed.
Then instead of running three miles every day, seriously consider digging, very fast, underground chambers and tunnels so that when you do run, you can't be seen.
Finally, install magnets in your walls, ceilings and shoes, then you can create a very mind blowing disappearing act!
