Every member of this squad should have a voice, because it is not my squad, Dunc's squad, LiL's squad, or Dire's squad... its OUR squad because we make it what it is. I know some folks are frustrated with my actions, or lack thereof, for not adhering strictly to the code we have all accepted. I am trying as best I can to keep this a fun, interactive squadron of folks with generally the same mindset when it comes to game play and esprit de corps while remaining within the guidelines Digger had set forth when he founded the squad." Viper, I apologize for being a bit behind in my Forum duties, but I am caught up now. As one of your Air Marshalls, I must admit to being both upset and a bit confused concerning your candid assessment of my fellow Air Marshalls lack of agreement over anything. I am unaware of such, and disturbed that it should be so. Frankly, I believe that a more military approach to this is in order---that is, you are our leader and have final say/decision over anything we do. As Air Marshalls, our job is to act as your seconds in your absence. I believe that a seniority list for us would aid, that is, that we be ranked according to merit to be determined by you. For example, if Dire were to disagree with me over something, Dire has final say due to being my senior. From another perspective, I greatly value the ability to speak out, to voice my opinions, and I appreciate that you have asked my opinion from time to time. So, as I see it, I have the right to disagree, but the obligation to obey. Our Squad list would be the perfect place to rank us all, but I don't think it does, does it?
Dunc, you are absolutely correct in your assessment. I should have been specific, but threw a blanket over everyone which was out of line. I was referring to the situation at hand, which most of the squadron was wise to watch from the sidelines. Truth be told the recent hiccup was completely my fault. I have learned lots from my mistakes and we are putting that nonsense behind us. Wolf Pack Air Marshals all acted exactly as they should have. BZ to each one of you.
The Air Marshals we have are outstanding, and don't get enough credit. Dire, Blind, LiL, Dunc, Skeeter, Myrlin, whitetrashbear, Bwolf, Kimber.45, Larry G. and Padre are all Wolf Pack Air Marshals for a very good reason. I don't feel ranking is necessary as you all should enjoy a "staff" type military relationship which recognizes your positions and authority over certain things in a more specific way.
I am a fan of the more military approach as you suggest and would like to keep it that way. That being said it is the Air Marshals that the rest of the squad should be using as an example of what it takes to be an outstanding wolf. Guess what? They all do, each and every one.
Accept my apologies for my "candid" assessment, which in reality should have been directed at a specific party.
And all hands are encouraged to speak out and voice their opinions. That's how we grow. Well put, Dunc. Thanks for snapping me back to reality when I need it.
On a lighter note, we have some folks out there who are flying as GI for the week. I would love to see some screenshots of the action!
