Okay, I wasn't sure if I wanted to make this public, or just address our Air Marshals, but after consideration I think everyone would benefit from knowing the policy on kicking players.
I am of the opinion there is a "probationary period" when a player first joins our squad, be it HGA or HGB. During that time they should be directed by whomever accepted them to do a few simple things. Visit the forum, if possible, and look over our main page would be the first step. This will give every new wolf a good idea of what kind of squad we are and what can be expected. It is incumbent on each AM who accepts a player to direct them to the squad main page on the forum. If the player indicates he or she doesn't have access, then a few simple rules of conduct should be initially discussed before sending them out in the world as a wolf. The new player should also be instructed by the person accepting them, to add {WP} behind their name. We all know, those of us that accept players, 95% of the time the new person cannot change their name due to a recent name change, and will have to wait. I get that, but that is a requirement for consideration for advancement within the squad.
Having said all that, if a new wolf cannot take a moment after a couple of days onboard and access the thread to know what our expectations are of him or her, then they have demonstrated, at least in my mind, lack of initiative and motivation to be a wolf. I have a very low tolerance for folks who cannot follow simple directions, and all our Air Marshals should mirror this level of tolerance. During the probationary period it should be very easy to identify and remove folks who cannot follow simple instructions and adhere to our code.
Case in point: brand new wolf, been onboard about a week. Invisible in a game and bombing, but remaining after being told and acknowledging his invisibility. This tells me a few things. He didn't read our page, and the "cheating" as it were, was deliberate. There should be no hesitation on any AM's to just go ahead and cut this type of player without needing higher approval. So I suppose I am placing this squarely in the hands of all our Air Marshals and above to handle these matters swiftly, and just follow up to me or the CO with a pm. I will certainly support all our AM's and their decisions 100%. (squad officers too!)
Just so you know, I consider all wolves onboard less than a month as probationary. Digger and I have discussed a way to identify our newest wolves, which is {WP-P} I think.... ill go back to my email to clarify momentarily.
Don't anyone misconstrue this post as a reprimand, because it surely is not. If anyone should be scolded it should be me for not making the process crystal clear to all hands and providing adequate direction to our Air Marshals. I decided to post this here for clarification to all our wolves on the correct process in handling new wolves and bringing them up to speed on just what it takes to fly under the WOLF PACK tag.
That's all for right now. Ill edit this as required as soon as I see what specifically Digger wished to use as a tag to identify our probationary guys and gals.
