VIPER AND RC MAKING MORAF

A big congrats to our two new MORAFs... I keep nibbling my way to 26, and the idea of those last five ranks makes my head spin. Huge accomplishment, good on you both.

A quick comment on activity... For some reason, this game crashes on me at weird times. So if you see me leave a game without saying anything, know that I'm muttering a swear word at home alone.

I'm in pack Bravo, and happy to stay here if we consolidate. But if you need more bodies in Charlie, let me know. I think this game might by in a summer lull, as folks do summer things. During cold winter months, folks will be in game much more.

Once again, congratulations to our newest MORAFs! Awesome, Viper and RC! Especially to do it in the same game within 15 seconds of each other! Has anyone else ever done that before? Talk about making a big splash!

On the HGC subject. I'm of the opinion that HGA should be fully filled with quality players, then HGB next....and so on and so on. Once HGA and HGB is filled, then we strategically send a crew of selected people to build HGC. (Lil', husky, ECT.) This keeps our efforts in arms distance and we can accurately gauge the development of a new hunting group.

I get request to join HGA everyday, but I'm hesitant to allow them in, not knowing them. If we have a new recruit group, then we'll be able to manage whether someone is a good fit, or if we need to send them to the Gunners ;p

My only thing is that Kimber should stay in HGA with me, because I'm selfish.

Your policy as stated here is consistent with the squadrons policy as set in our main page. Digger has contacted me and stated the same. He would like to see HGC deactivated and the pilots absorbed into HGA and HGB. From there we concentrate on building two strong and healthy HG's consisting of active pilots before we reestablish HGC. I am behind this initiative completely and it does seem like the popular view anyway. So that being said we need to make a plan to take HGC pilots into HGA & B, at their current squadron rank and position that is.

This wont be the end of HGC, we will have in on hiatus for a bit while we get back to basics so to speak.

Like Red pointed out, you enter a game and someone wants to join WP and you have no clue who they are. I have a suggestion, what if Air Marshals and MORAF's vote before accepting any new member? This would allow the new candidate time to read our forum and decide if this is really a best fit, rather than just hitting the button to join a squad they'd have to do some research.

Good suggestion Dire I like the idea tbh sorry I don't get much flight time with current events I've got so much going on I try to fly at least one game if possible or have a hour at most flying as on call 24/7 so I might leave mid game out the blue due to taking a call either work or estate agents or landlords cause I have sent emails to them for housing the quicker I move the better for me tbh

I do realize im new to the pack, and i do thank Viper for acceptance into the squad. Im sure the majority of everybody else in the squad knows eachother, and i ran into a few members of the squad today that i didnt know, and did not know me. Just a suggestion, but maybe better introduce new squadmates when first accepted so they can get to know everyone and also the other way around?

once again, just and observation i made today and put some thought into it, thanks again guys.

Well we have thought of getting a chat for wp but its not possible so for now we can only coe here introduce yourself and let us all aware at least till other wp members are aware who u are , hard in a game cause not everyone chats due to concentrating on the game or what have you !

What made WolfPack special to me was its exclusivity. I am still new here also, but love the fact that flying with a sense of pride, character, and knowing I earned the {WP} behind my name! I read all through this thread before I applied. At the time 94pages. I always felt like it was me meeting 50 pilots, not them meeting just me. So I am in support of anything the Veterans want, and am in agreement.

It is incredibly difficult to know if a pilot is honorable when they request to join. Many that ask are new to the game and no one knows them, others are not interested in the forum, they just want to fly. I have found that giving people a chance doesn't make the squad weak, it provides us with an opportunity to meet new people. What I find truly amazing is how the pack weeds out the unworthy, everyone in the pack seems to be on the same page about what is most important, respect, loyalty, honesty. It makes the pretenders uncomfortable to the point they leave. It is a credit to everyone in WP.

Well said Blind, and LiL, and Skeeter, Dire, Myrf, and everyone else who chimed in. Skeeter, I agree 100% that I like the exclusivity of our squad. You fly with honor and adhere to the code or we show you the door... I love that about our squad. But like Blind pointed out, how do we know who is honorable beforehand? Also, saying hi in the forum or in the game is great, but in all honesty not everyone is on the forum and in the game, when shooting a tank, any chat can easily be missed as it quickly leaves the screen. What then is the solution? Digger suggested a probationary period for all new recruits, which we kinda-sorta already have in place. Everyone regardless of rank begins WP life as a Lt. and only the most loyal make it to Air Marshal... which goes to a vote and approved by either the CO or XO, or both. Pretty stringent, keeping us exclusive, but also we can form a strong squad through this procedure.

Right now the process is fairly simple. Folks who request normally do so after a recommendation from our recruiters... (LiL, take a bow here) If they are requesting I personally look to find who recruited them and use that as the deciding factor. If they come in blind and without introduction they do not get approved. Following approval we watch our new pilots and see how they behave, how well they represent our squad, and what kind of presence they have in the game. Remember, each new person represents us all, not just me, not just Digger, but all of us. They need to live up to our expectations and we accept them as a brother or sister, member of the Wolf Pack.

If I missed anything please let me know, but that is how I see it working today. Is there room for improvement? Of course there is, and I am always open to suggestions from any squad member. Regardless of rank or position any reasonable suggestion is considered.

My goal is to keep our squad an "elite group of pilots" while being flexible enough to recruit pilots both new and experienced.

If I am missing anything please don't ever hesitate to speak up. It is, and should always be, our squad. Not exactly a democracy but definitely not a dictatorship...... collectively we make Wolf Pack what it is. Best squad in DF!

Wow talk about a piece of history! Thanks for noticing that Larry. Here I had credited the first howl to Whitetrashbear but it appears you are correct Larry! The first recorded howl was Ryunkin.... Too bad he is no longer active, or at least I don't think he is. LOL yep, Digger and I were noobs back then.

And yeah the pack is pretty segragated, wich is awsome, although i got in supper easilly! ... and almost got kicked out... lol jk jk, but i do remember i was a little stressed on how you guys thought i had come in to easilly! lol, thanks to lill for the support! my 1rst kill, my 100th kill, and my thousandth kill: and that was all luck! seriously how cool is that! but you guys all heard that already! Probation period is definitely worth it I agree with that and while I do look in games for pilots its hard to do tbh with you especially the noobs now days they are extremely rude always swearing in game like I speak English and Irish language mainly however I know some other languages like German Spanish Italian.

With that begin said noobs are mainly speaking in Spanish and I look at what they say they are saying Puto I can't remember what it is at the current time lol as not long home from work and got punched in the ribs so might have a fracture but not sure atm so my mind is elsewhere.

But as blind pointed out those in the pack are amazing people with top ethics to the game

First let me say thanks to Viper10 for the credit concerning the whole HGA_B_C thing, I must keep reminding myself that when babbling or ranting I should probably make it clear that that is what I’m doing, unfortunately if I have to announce when I’m being sarcastic it just ruins everything. Therefore you will have to figure that part out yourselves
The formation as well as the disbanding of a Hunting Group is something which while seeming a simple task to some, isn’t the case with others. Something which I had forgotten until reading NavMeds post. For those of you unfamiliar with it, let me weave you a DF story………..
…..sometime mid-August of 2014 I “Stumbled” upon Dogfight while trying to find anything other than Candy Crush to play. I hunted solo, had never even looked at Forum, and limited my chatting to the occasional “TY” or “GG”. Then along came Jen Pui , who asked me if I would be his wingman and recruited me into “GI…” (Note the 3 dots). I was sure that I was a Gunner for life which was first put to the test less than 24hrs after joining when Jen left GI to form his own squad “the Hornbills” which evolved into “the Jurassic Air Force” which we all know so well, some of you even sport lizard skin boots from time to time. Having just joined GI, I felt that to accept an offer to go wouldn’t be right, so I remained a Gunner. But having been recruited directly into GI3 (here’s where the dots are important) I felt loyalty to it more so then to GI as a whole. I had never even flown with anyone from the first squadron (wing) besides I was a noob and after Jen left nobody really said anything to me. Until one fateful 6 on 1 game, in which I was being slaughtered by all. But I did have some moments especially when I was able to survive the head-on and change things into a turn fight. When the smoke cleared I had lost but I didn’t care, fast forward a couple of days and I notice something called a Private Message for the first time and what’s this, someone wrote me. This Noob had received my first PM & when I read it I was surprised that it was from a Red from “That Game”, someone from Wolf Pack known as Blackwolf. Apparently he liked what I had done with the plane I was flying, asking if I was known by any other names or if I knew who any of the pilots I had been flying against were, and getting a kick out of my Noob responses. I knew right away that I liked this Blackwolf, but it was when he said I had been fighting legends of the game and was destined to become one myself someday especially when I could fly a top tier plane that my ego announced him to be a friend for life. So here I was GI3 private messaging back and forth with a Wolf gaining tips sharing a few laughs but that was all. All servers crash, no DF for days which becomes weeks for me and when I finally get back in to play…..BAMM
