Hey Luna. I guess you're looking for US veterans, but I can connect you with people who work with wounded Australians. I don't think you will get much support for research that might be intended to highlight a lack of support as implied in your message, but if this is a genuine study and you have the right credentials, then I would be happy to assist. I myself was WIA many years ago. I recovered fully and am in no way comparable to the people you might have in mind, but it cuts me to the core every time another name is added to the tally.

I'm very impressed with the MOM attitude. No jingoism - just support for a friend in need.

A few days back (9/30/12, I think) I dropped into a DF match to find Duck and lots of other MOMs. Duck was in a tank so some of us did likewise and tanked around a bit. Here's a few pics:

I feel that our prowesss should be so overwhelming that anyone flying with our tag that's not a Real MOM will easily stick out to all other players because they can't fight like we do. Its all good fun but I'd like to see it where someone FINALLY gets into a game after waiting forever because the server is full, only to see some MOMs as reds, and feels that quitting and going back into the "server's full" queue is a better option!

There are some crazy good pilots out there, a lot of them in Enigma and the 111th especially. But its not their squads that intimidate. intimidate. It's their individual badass selves. I would like to see us as a group have that same "Oh sh#t!" factor. No disrespect to any other squad, but maybe there's no squad wars yet is because I think we'd do very well.

I was worried about this subject, Tex. As you saw in today's BTC we played against each other, I can't face guys like you, Dent, etc. I agree with you about skill factor being as a "must have criteria", and I am a little bit upset about my lack of skill, indeed.
In the last weeks, I figured out how much all you MOMs are well respected, and feared by many people - and I fear that being myself an easy target (although still at level 8 ) is scratching MOM's reputation.
I know that many of you MOM's will say "Nah, keep working, and you'll improve", and things like that, and probably I will accept this kind of encouragement, and certainly I'll stick with the tag over my name. But anyway, I need to confess this little "frustration". Any teaching sessions for noobs scheduled, by the way?

Of course there are some other MOM's that can disagree with that, and there is nothing to complain about this position, because it's a game, after all (and there were a MOM member on that same game that told us "no deal" - nothing to blame, of course); but I would be happy if I see some more MOMs agreeing with this "pact".

Some very good feedback. I'm totally pumped that you put me in the same category as Dent! A Karma for you!

You bring up some very good points though. I also hate fighting MOMs and wont do it in DF either unless all that's left are MOM We usually will eat cake instead though. I personally don't like flying against MOMs in the other modes and I tend to attack non-MOMs first instead. This morning I was the only blue for a bit in our HTC game so it was a little different.
Don't feel bad about your rank and skill; you WILL improve and get better with more practice like ALL of us had to. I still get wadded plenty so it's all good! Your point about scheduling training is a good one. When I was an Enigma there was a section on their site where a member asked about the best flying/fighting style to all the members and there was great discussion. I personally try to avoid the head on shots as I see that as a 50/50 deal. If I'm on you tail instead you cant fire back at me....Surprisingly the advice given by the great aces in history seem to apply in the game as well - Google Noelle, Ginger Lacey or "Sailor" Malan. I would love to see a newbies only area where flying skills could be taught, think that would be very useful and very healthy for the game. I don't think as many would quit playing because of the huge difference in skill sets.

today i've experienced something and i was thinking about whether to write it to you, or not. First i thought, "hey forget it", but im still angry about it and now im telling you why. Today i entered a "Bomb the hangars" game and a guy from the opposite just was in our base standing in front of the planes not let a plane take of and do a tank spawnkill to my teammembers over and over again. I 've had no chance to take of because he was right sitting in front of us in a tank. I know some tricks for a fast take off,too, but there was no chance to get him. The name of the guy was "I f... america".
Im not writing the full name here, because there are also kids in this forum reading threats and we all know what characters were between the dots. I got angry about that guy for three reasons. The first reason is the name of this guy ... The second one was the spawn killing tank thing on our base... and the third reason was that he was sitting in his tank and using bad language joking about us and had a full potty mouth.
Then i met him in the next game... Revenge i want to see some blood. I told my team and the others that im out of game and that im only hunting for "I f... america". I shot him down about 25 times and everytime i shot him down i typed in chat "next!!!".. He always wants to get into a tank because he can barely tank drive and wanted to use some tricks within a tank for example: Shooting down over carrier, shooting down over bridge so that he can hide his tank in the building near bridge etc. But not with me!!!!

My special thanks goes to Marko99 for supporting me within this game. He was in the same team as "I f... america" and he was the only one dangerous in this team. But i explained to Marko99 what im doing and he let me pass away without shooting at me. Thanks for support Marko99.


So my please to all M.O.M.s is, shooting down "I f... america" on sight. Reasons for that see above.

HERE COMES MY FIRST EVER DF RANT!!!!! - ive noticed a few things on this thread that have made me feel very low, i have respect for the majority of mom but there are a few that have lost that respect and i know this is odd from myself of all people but i just read that you are (as a squadron) intimidating and that my squadron - the 111th arent, well hows this.....in ww1 (im sure a few of you may have been there) the pilots were gentlememn, even between allies and germans there was a set of unwritten rules so yes ok my squad is not intimidating but we are gentlemen in the 111th and we are proud of it. Ive also noticed that you guys put swimsuit pics up? now i realise maybe you are all randy buggers but there are women (probably disgusted) and kids (fragile minds) here that should look up to you? this is a bad example to set. so ive interpreted it thus : you are being intimidating and using soft porn within that confine. well if that is what makes you an intimidating squad then you can keep it - il stick with my (decent, professional and unoffensive) un-intimidating squad thankyou very much! oh and btw if a few of us are intimidating as individuals then il get my boys n gals (not the aces but a few good pilots) and we will turn up the heat on any situation! so please hear this not as an insult to your squad but as my personal (intimidating) view. thankyou - that is all!

Please, with few exceptions, all people of this forum are gentleman! If you are complaining about something that was said here by any MOM member, please, let MOM's leaders know, because I am sure that if any MOM member doesn't respects any squadron or any squadron member, he/her will be severely punished or banned by MOM's leaders!

Agreed Mad. Not to be a prude but yeah, people maybe should pause before posting and ask themselves if what they are about to post would end up in a spam email folder, or otherwise be NSFW!

And Mad if you look back over the the last hundred or so posts (a daunting prospect, granted ) you'll notice that the MOM leadership (ScheiBe Kopf and Wig) do not endorse that and have asked that those pics be removed. The original posters have complied. The few recent "soft porn" examples that remain are still there only because they are embedded in certain replies, namely those of Flyingmuck.

So, attention Muck: please edit #46824 and #46816 of your posts to remove those image tags. Thanks.

Maybe for consistency's sake we should ask Paul to remove the obese pics as well and those who quote-responded to them.
