Thanks Mean Ole. Was great flying with you and a lot of the other MOMs yesterday. I even came across -bob-, friend of ktheo's, at one point. Also lots of great non-MOM flyers, too many to count!

I might've said, "Dennis Hopper as Frank Booth from Blue Velvet" (which is, 'frankly', who I was channeling as I typed!) but the Cape Fear reference...priceless.

Yeah, I was sorry to have missed the chance to play longer with you the other day. All I saw was, "R U better now?" which completely cracked me up, then before I could type a response...I was out. Did I get dropped for the hundredth time while away from the city for the weekend? Or did the mission simply end? I don't recall. Getting dumped out of missions has become my signature tactic since last Friday afternoon. sheesh. If I had a buck for each time I've been on someone's tail, or sighting up a carrier from a tank, then..."connection lost".

Now that I'm back in civilization - dogss, would we called this town "civilized"? - I'll post more pics for Paul and Jon and the lot of ya...my initial attempts all choked. Some file optimization should do the trick, just haven't had a chance yet.

Giving. I normally do this twice each week. Been at it for over 13 years now. The extra money has actually helped to buy a couple of very nice AR15s. And helps support other hobbies such as home theater, movie DVD / bluray collection. And especially my road bicycling addiction.

Most importantly, it helps out burn victims and people with certain blood diseases.

I begun to play Dogfight some weeks ago, so I can barely land my sopwith without crashing it.
My ingame name is piduca (Lieutenant 3), and I only had 15 kills until now. I dead 47 times, had 20 crashes, and won only 4 games.
I don't play that much, only 30 minutes a day, 3-4 days a week... So, what are the chances of being accepted in this squadron?

Thanks for your support. By the way, I clicked on MOM on the join squadron option on the tools menu of this site, although I already read that membership is "only by invitation", so I'm confused. Please, let me know if I must "unjoin" at the tools menu.

By the way, do you know if there is any "squadron vs squadron feature" coming soon?
And in the current multiplayer games, are you MOMs following some kind of tactics or strategies (like who leads, who takes the back, who bombs, who lands on carriers, etc)?

As promised, more pics from the weekend outing.

Paul's dad was mentioned by the airshow MC. I spoke at length with the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome management and the MC/announcer himself. This weekend the show - featuring the Fokker Dr1 triplane and SPAD VII dogfighting as pictured - will feature a dedication to "Paul Mantz, Jr. and Jon Duckwing." (Duck, I don't know your last name but I thought you might get a kick out of that!)

I have scores of other pics of planes in flight, on the airfield, in vintage hangars and on museum display. I'll post a few more if you guys would like to see them. I just wanted you to know that the Aerodrome folks were pleased to have the opportunity to mention you both to the crowd as the heroic individuals (Paul, shedep) you are and as members of the M.O.M Squadron! My only regret was that you both couldn't be there to enjoy "the real thing" up close. But you were there in spirit and will be again this week.

And finally (for now) a screen cap of something that happens directly beneath my plane in almost every BTB mission I play. Jon, I am going to have to start playing with my nose. (insert punchline here) I couldn't get much worse than I am now. I'll do my best to shoot you down when I see you, but I can't make any promises. Most times I can barely hit my foot when I throw the floor at it.

GREAT pics, Wig! I generally prefer WW2 era planes but, those look just as beautiful to me as any of the newer ones!

You are quite welcome, Paul! Did you know Cole Palen? I saw him last at the "Aerodrome" event he spearheaded in '92 in Alabama. He passed away the following year then the remaining organizers tried to keep the every other year schedule going but were only able to do one more show in '94. That, if you weren't there, was a once in a lifetime thing. Entire flights of matching Dr1's and SE5a's on patrol, a Fokker DVIII, tons of Nieuports...a Sopwith Triplane that blew my socks off...dozens of WW1 planes of all makes, models and types from all over the world. Sometimes the sky seemed filled with planes and it was easy to imagine being in France in 1916. I understand many people mistake Alabama for France.
