That sounds like a GREAT idea! Thinking that we'll probably have to have several of these simultaneously depending on participation.

Yes, that sounds great. I will try to be in as many as I can. I will also try to take some screen shots.

Great idea except being directionally clueless I'll have to pass on leading any processions. I'd probably get lost immediately and lead everyone off the edge of the map. :)

Ok, I am going to take a chance here and step off in it..... :) ...isn't the north base at the foot of the tall pointy mountain? and the west lake has the bridge?
I may have to delete this pretty quick before too many folks see it. :)

Hell if I know, Oedius, and there's the rub. CTC and Dogfight games are the bane of my existence as far as that goes. In CTC someone will say "I'll take the east carrier and you get the west," and they might as well be speaking Greek to me. I'm just lucky if I don't blow myself up with my own bomb before stumbling across the first carrier I happen to see. In dogfight mode if I happen to respawn at some remote base away from the action it may as well be game over for me. I'll be haplessly floundering around going "where is everyone?" while off in the distance someone like Big Tex racks up 15 kills in the space of five minutes. :)

Hey Bopes, I hope you are not saying that just to make me feel better! :) I was so messed up when I first started playing Dogfight, I remember how indignant I became upon seeing that I had just been banned for 5 minutes during a game. Until someone kindly explained it was because I had bombed wrong base! Yeah, I waste a lot of time during dogfight mode flying all over creation looking for the action sometimes. I often wonder how much more trouble I would be in if our planes had limited fuel supply and we had to watch fuel gauge like we have to watch ammo supply. lol! :cheer:

Totally agree. I figure that if I stay in one spot, pretty soon all the action heads my way. Can you imagine how classic that would be if we ever got two-seaters and had to worry about fuel?

"Hey BT, why are you pulling over"
"Um, it seems that I've run out of gas....."
"I think you have me confused with Mrs Tex or something"

...Awkward silence....

OK, at the risk of being dumb and maybe being used here.... I was flying today and a person "laopdr" was showing the MOM tag.. Do those initials stand for anything? Like LOL, LMAO, etc..
I asked him about the MOM tag and he said he knew the BOSS.. I guess he knows, Wig, Tex, bopes or anyone here??? He then started to complement my game skills, I then knew he was either "on drugs" or maybe it was Wigincognito.. He was pretty low rank though.. Now I wonder if "laopdr" may stand for,"laughing at old people during recess"?? IDK any ideas? Are we being mocked?

I did change my name to B9101legendofkane.

at first I did not think to join a squad because I liked to kill them.
But wigbomb asked if I would join MOM, I started to read some of the forum on squad.
Since my mother has deadly bone cancer, I thought it had to be perfect with a squad that had MOM tag, so I can fight for her on my way.

I was a member of the MOM before I heard about the disease to Kevin.
When legendofkane said he was too ill to play, and would stop playing, you supported him by saying he was always a member of MOM, and you cant quit.
I just have to say that the management of MOM squad is incredible.

It is a great honor to fight for MOM

Scheisse, I ran into the same thing last night for the first time; there were two pilots that had attached the MOM tag to their names and I hadn't heard of either before, so I think there are some definite Wannabees out there perpetratin'. I wondered if perhaps some others had allowed some newbies to join our squad, but after seeing how low ranking they were, and the sorry state of their flying in general, knew them to be imposters.

Seems like we should have the ability to tighten the admin controls as to who can put what on their names....

Well the first of Kevins Memorial flights are in I hope all of you had a sucsessful mission Duck, B and myself had a little trouble in the eariler stage until we got everyone to agree on a cease fire in a dogfight game we flew to the heavens to 3000 ft in a nice formation and on 3 we dropped our bombs and some cut there engines and floated to earth and landed together on carrier said our farwells and a quick buzzing of the tower and went on our ways.A beautiful fairwell to a great guy see ya all at 9pm and again at 1am

God Bless you all you are fantastic group of Mean Old Men.

I got in 3 flts for Kevin. Shot down 2 times. No biggie...slow float down. Time to reflect. Thanks everyone for this memory. Now off to the hospital.
Thank you again for your support. I have a great surgeon & have every confidence in him. Will be able to read, but not fly for a while.

Think Dent and bopes had some input on him as well a couple of pages ago. I think that they felt that we needed to fly with him more and see what he could do in the sky prior to admission...

Missed the 4:00 pm window. Managed to get in a game around 4:15 or so but saw no familiar players or any other squads and didn't feel like puzzling those there with a memorial flight request.

Will try for the 9:00 p.m. sharp.

Paul all the best on the operation.

Killerbadger: impeccable timing, son! Outstanding!

Good ideas, SheiBe and Big Tex.

Killer, for the next week or so try to play a lot. Show us what you got. MOMs will keep an eye out for you and if you see them in game make sure they know you're there and why.

Meanwhile Sputnik do a complete workup(credit history, criminal record, etc. --Joke!) and report back with a recommended course of action: in or out.

Oh and we'll need a urine sample (Joke!).

Then we'll take all that under consideration and arrive at a consensus. Fair enough?
