Okay I finally figured it all out.. took me a bit though.. seems we have one pilot in the game in our squadron twice.. his original account got unusable because of an update/password thing and so he started all over.. which really sucked for him because he was already in the high 20's (actually on the final road for moraf when it happened) so he started a new account so he could still play.. I am still hoping Echoboom hooks him up with his older account, so we will be keeping both his accounts active in our squadron in-game just in case that wonderful day ever occurs!!

Meanwhile, Good Luck to you on that long, long road ahead of you DonFlix!!

By the way... I need banner requests from all our newest pilots and if anyone sees daveofdeath let him know he has a new banner waiting on him too.

Also, £afayette is down to the last open spots left in our little escadrille.. following us hitting the historically famous Valiant 38 we will not be accepting further pilots into the squadron.

(unless I utilize my French Officers Five prerogative... as the Escadrille was commanded by the French & those five officers flew & fought with the American pilots... or perhaps put non-active pilots into the reserves... I will have to ponder these things at length in the future...)

It's okay MOONDOG.. I was just confused as to why we had more pilots in the game than here on our Flight Roster.
But that mystery is now solved.. so y'all can go back to playing musical names again LOL!



*just if you plan on changing your name permanently please let me know so I can change it in the Flight Roster and start working on a new banner for you as well.. just be SURE when you do it that you want to keep it for quite awhile!

On to other matters..

Zuperman has started a thread for the selection process for new moderators. I believe that just about any £afayette player that fits his requirements would be a good moderator as we all love this game & don't get involved in any of the nastiness that seems to attract others. If any of you want to be a moderator AND have the time to dedicate to such a position, then throw your hat into the ring.

There are a couple of pilots I can think of right off hand of ours that would make excellent moderators, but pretty much any £ could do a great job if they have the time to do so.

The thread is called "Potential Moderators" and it was started by zuperman

I personally love this game and would like to see it and this forum cleaned up so pilots of all ages can play the game & read the forum without having to wade through a bunch of foul language.. amongst other things.. but I have no desire to shoulder a thankless tough job, which is really what being a moderator entails. If they were short on the number of moderators they need then perhaps I would consider it, but hopefully we will get plenty of good & fair moderators to handle the job.

So once again, if you are interested in being a moderator and fit the requirements then sign up on that thread.. thanks!

I certainly hope that zuperman puts a Rules of Dogfight screen that players have to click "I Have Read & Agree" button or something prior to getting to the World Chat & Map/Server screens..

Flew a few good, tough missions with fellow £'s today.. here was one with Barnstormer Don against some TOUGH competition! We lost, but still it was a good capture the carrier mission! Oh & Wig was red for awhile too.. sheeesh!

Zebra, it was really nice flying with you too. You are right, we faced some very talented fliers. About the time I would start to get a bead on someone I was smoking and going down in flames! Wish I could have helped you more, but it was a good game against really good players. gg, as we say.

Just wanted to stop in and say, had the honor of flying a game ( against unfortunately ) with Pompeii and Skystorm a couple nights ago. Crossed paths with Skystorm again today. You guys are amazing pilots! All of you not only fly with Honor but have amazing skills. It is always exciting and an honor to play in a game with pilots from this Squadron!

Escadrille SPA.124 of the French Air Service was established in February 1918. The members of the earlier Escadrille N.124, more widely known as the Lafayette Escadrille, largely transferred into the United States Air Service on 18 February as the 103rd Aero Squadron. The remaining French personnel were formed into a unit operating SPADs. In May 1918, the unit was dubbed the Escadrille Jeanne d'Arc to differentiate it from its famous predecessor.

Pilots of Spa 124 included Portuguese & other nationalities including Russian!

When Kiffen Rockwell scored the first kill for the Lafayette
escadrille his brother Paul sent a bottle of good bourbon to celebrate with. It developed that rather than use it all right then they would mete it out a drink at a time to each victor.
Parsons says in his book I FLEW WITH THE LAFAYETTE ESCADRILLE that the empty bottle came to light upon the death of William Thaw.


Lafayette Escadrille's famous Bottle of Death. That Bottle of Death, signed by most of the aces of the squadron, had contained an 80 year-old bourbon whiskey. Each time one of the unit fliers scored an air victory he had been entitled to a shot from the Bottle of Death.

I just want to let everyone know that our esteemed friend & most excellent pilot Ziza will be leaving us to start a squadron for Mexican pilots called Aztec Eagles and it will be closely associated with the Lafayette Escadrille.

Let us all wish Ziza the utmost success in his endeavor!!

We will miss you though Ziza in squadron chat for sure even though we will still see you in the skies of Dogfight!

I see why Andy like this squad. Lafayette has no problems between friends and have the best of the best. I'm still a Lafayette , but whit Aztec wings
