Moondog, Barnstormer is a person who use to do air shows and stunts back in the 1920's and 30's. Here is the definition from Wikipedia - Barnstorming was a popular form of entertainment in the USA in the 1920s, in which stunt pilots would perform tricks with airplanes, either individually or in groups called a flying circus. Barnstorming was the first major form of civil aviation in the history of flight. The term barnstormer was also applied to pilots who flew throughout the country selling airplane rides, usually operating from a farmer's field for a day or two before moving on. "Barnstorming season" ran from early spring until after the harvest and county fairs in the fall.
As for wine, yes I do make my own, usually about 10 gallons (about 38 liters) at a time. I have a vineyard where people can come out and pick muscadine grapes (the only marketable grape that grows in the south eastern U.S.). Here is the web site for the vineyard --
www.loftusfamilyfarm.com It is a small vineyard, only 296 vines on 1.5 acres, but it keeps me busy now that I'm retired. Just to keep this aviation oriented, the vineyard is on 12 acres and I keep thinking I would like to turn part of it into a runway so I could fly something off the property. My wife HATES the idea. So far, she is winning.
If you have any questions about wine making, send me an e-mail from my website and we won't bother other people with a topic not related to Dogfight.
