This game's been around 5+ years now, I think it's time we acknowledge those who've had the greatest impact on the game and forum.



1 - Players can be nominated to the Hall of Fame through this thread, and this thread only. If you nominate someone on another thread, you must re-post your nomination here. This should help avoid confusion.

2 - A nomination should include any name that the player has gone by. This includes names used only on the forum, or only in-game. Use full/official names if there could be confusion about who you're referring to if a nickname/shortened name is used. (E.G. "I nominate Wat Up" is fine, because Wat Up Dogfight is the only influential "Wat Up" ever. "I nominate Von", is not, as this could refer to Von Pay or Von Hulk.) If it's not clear who you nominate, please clarify when asked.
2.1 - If a vote is cast for the incorrect person due to a misunderstanding, it will count as a nomination (Provided that the vote is clear in who it is cast for).
2.2 - Distinctions of any player must be included in a nomination, or they will likely not be included.
2.3 - You may not nominate yourself.

3 - There will be two separate categories: The Hall of Fame, and the Hall of Shame. The Hall of Fame is for those who've positively impacted the community, and the Hall of Shame is for those who did the opposite. When nominating, please specify which Hall you are nominating someone for. A player may be nominated for both Halls at once.
3.1 - If a player is elected to both Halls, he/she will be included in both, with an asterisk or similar mark will be placed next to their name in both Halls.

4 - Rules for voting are less strict than those for nominations. Common names and nicknames are perfectly acceptable, as long as two people with similar common names aren't on the ballot at the time. (Once again, don't vote for "Von" if Von Pay and Von Hulk are both awaiting election.) Similarly, if a player is nominated for both the Hall of Fame and the Hall of Shame, please specify where your vote is cast. You may not vote for both.
2.1 applies.
4.1 -Distinctions of any player must be included in a vote if they have not already been stated. They may not be included otherwise.
4.2 - You may not vote for yourself.

5 - In order to be elected to either hall, you must have a vote cast for you by six separate players.

6 - In the case of players that have been retired/ banned for a long enough time that six votes is an unreasonable expectation, one may be voted in by general consensus of those who were active at the same time as the retiree in question.

7 - You can only vote for a player once. If you wish to change your vote to the opposite Hall, or retract it completely, please say so in a separate post.
7.1 - A vote from Zuperman (or any present or past Echoboom staff member- moderators not included) counts for 6 votes. They may edit this post to include the person themselves, if they like. The rules of this thread do not, however, condone removing a player from either Hall, or transferring them to the other.
7.2 - A vote from Jimmy the Lip counts for 83 votes.
7.3 - A vote from the troll under the bridge or any terrifying creatures in the tunnels count as a Hall of Shame vote for them. We don't like you guys! Go away!

i think i'll nominate [NLR] Acelink. when i started the game he was one tough cookie. don't know if he really plays anymore so i guess that could make him eligible for hall of fame status.

Dragon1000, he was definatly one of the best when I started playing, and years after his retirement, he still occupied a top spot.

For Hall of fame:[NLR]*420*, Davy Crockett,Mcfate,VonHulk,Wig, Luna,1001, von-kilner,XxxxX, Bluemax. Look at their stats. There may be many more whom I haven’t played with.

I don't know how many of us know that [NLR]*420* used to be at #1 world rank during early years. Correct me if I'm wrong.

We are fortunate that they still are here and will remains icons of hall of fame. My sincere regards to all of them.

3 things:

1. Because there's a ridiculous amount of BBcode behind those damn tables and bullet points (I'll post a screenshot later) this'll get updated in chunks so my session doesn't time out. Don't worry if there's incomplete entries, or if your vote hasn't yet been counted. It'll come.

2. I'm not including squadtags by default. If you want yours included in your nomination/hall spot, please tell me.

3. Distinctions are hard. I want to note all this stuff, but I'm not sure about everything. I don't know who's military and who's not, there's who-knows-how-many MORAFs, and some squads (Misfits and Moms, I'm looking at you guys!) are way too big and post way too much for me to keep up w/ the structure. Also, I can never tell what's a joke and what's serious in your squads!

Haha, of course! Pain in the "asterisk" to add to the table, but certainly appreciated!

One question for you, though. There's been two prominent Vamps. One was the original, and one was a guy named Askal who changed his name to The Vampire, or some variation thereof. I think he might be ~~~oo~~~, but I'm not sure. Do you know which one it is? They're both good players, Askal had a rep for SKing like Bomer and WAMP did. (You remember them, right?)

Should be a special distinction for Kaco blasting Zup with a tank. Don't know if that was guts or just plain insanity. But it did create a lot of laughs and head shaking. And could very well be one of the most memorable moments in DF history!
