The following message has been sent out to players within the DF community and has some serious implications. I post this to give every person a heads up and allow you players to form your own opinions.

This is a game we all play, key word here folks is game. So if some are going to take it to this extreme, then where is the fun within the DF community heading.





Hey I wanted to extend to you an invitation to join a squadron in formation...several guys are starting second accounts to join us, as they are members of other squadrons, have high ranks, etc.,. So this is not a solicitation to quit the 111th!! You may know me as Goshawk in the game, but today I started a new squadron, the Confederate Air Corps, and changed my name to JEB Stuart. We will have [CAC] in front of our names, and I am encouraging new people to take on a southern name or military figure from the War to Prevent Southern Independence...We have someone named Mosby, but you could probably take a variation on that name like John Mosby, etc if you want...he was the Grey ghost, after all Anyway, we have 7+ people in the squadron or in the process of getting a second account because they wont give up their current one. One is a senior/global moderator in another popular squadron. I am sending out other PM's like this to other interested folks. If you have any interest, we are promoting the squadron as follows: be proud of being from the South, many of us have ancestors who fought in the CSA, be honorable, chivalrous, and have personal integrity in the game. We will make a declaration of principles, amongst which will include a statement condemning slavery and racism, as many progressives/liberals, and others will get their panties in a bunch just because of our name. I would extend an invitation of membership to all people who are from the south or have an affinity for the South, whether or not they are from the United States, are another race or religion, etc. Heck, it seems everyone in the US is allowed to celebrate where their ancestors came from except the Southerners. I'm one of those guys who sees the demonization of the Southern culture as illegitimate and hypocritical. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, let me know. Take care. Jeb

Ok, just to let you all know this was sent to me a little while back. I was asked to join, and they thought i was still with the falcons. Cant believe that ppl want to do this just to infiltrate other squads. Or to clean up dogfight community. If you want to clean it you thenclean it up with out second accounts, and use what you have now. No one in the Misfits will not have any part of this.

Grey i agree 150% there is no since in 2 accounts. If uwant df to b truthful the b truthful urself and only have one account.

I do not see any problem with this what so ever........This is a game and not real life.....Many many players have multiple accounts and as long as they abide by the dogfight rules, then I see no issue.,..Those that are in other squads and have a second account only do so inorder to stay loyal to their first squad.,...If this was real life, then they would be hanged for being a spy........stop tge role playing fellas, this is not real life......When and if squad wars comes out, then I would expect sides will be chosen from those who have second accounts......

If second accounts were a problem, a bunch of folks would be in a heap of trouble. But until Z says so, it's allowed. Just don't break game or forum rules, don't dodge bans or mutes, and don't be deceptive about Who Lil Ol Me because that is trolling, and hampers moderators from giving feedback to people.

I'm not thrilled about spamming via PM, but we haven't received any complaints about it yet.

What about codes and tactics ,each squad probably has some? So if I join another squad with another account ,wouldn't this b like spying on the other teams,in real war they shoot spy's.

Thia is just a game, and one that I myself enjoy very much, maybe too much according to some.... she just doesn't understand. There are many facets to DF that make it so enjoyable, and to begin lissting them wouldn't serve my piont so I'll spare you all the detail and tell you the few magor Good pionts and how this PM Ghost recieved and the comment General Jackson made are in conflick with the fun side of the game(for myself).

First the PM

Reading it is almost like being invited to an upstart of a secrete political party who's time has passed well over a hundred years ago. I'm sure there are many people here in this community who probably have no idea what Goshawk is even reffering to. unfortuneately for whatever reason he's deamed his political views as a prerequisite that should be shared by new members interested in joining the CSA. He didnt specify the rules that the members would need to accept, just a libral friendly dogma should be shared by the CSA members. Small conflic here. If i understood my history teachers correcetly, slavery was THE MAIN reason the southern states sought independence from the union. This is offensive not only to me but I have no doubt many others. Goshawk apperantly is awhere of this or the Declaration of principles wouldn't be necessary or even mentioned.
One of the facets of the game that i enjoy is the fact that we are able to interact with folks from all over this bleu rock we call home. I'm quit sure that if I was to sit for a moment with many of my in game friends and start talking of polotics and or deep personal beliefs there would be major differances and even offending beliefs on both sides of the conversation. I play this game because i enjoy it, the people i meet in game are interesting and fun, to the limited piont to which I know then. I recently offended one such friend, due to personal differances of opinion. I learned something from that, if we keep the game in perspective and dont try to sell or push our own beliefs and values on others in the game, then the game stays unadulterated, and fun. if one pushes the other way, just a tiny teeny bit..... good lord it all goes striaght to hell and quick.
I believe that the willingness to accept the fact that we as a group of players have some commonality, and as individuals we are much diiferent then the garoup. We should be mindful of the fact that we are all able to be offended and offend on many different subjects, some of which can be very deeply held. We shouldn't blatantly be willing to disregard others feeling....(yes i said feelings,)in this community. we owe it to one another and ourselves to show the repsect we feel we should be shown by others.

Goshawk, Jeb who ever. you have the right to call your squad what you like and you have the right to implement you own princibles of your squad. I would truely hope that you and your squad members would keep in mind the tolorance to le you have those rights is fragile and to evermore rare in todays world. I can say that seeing a squad named the CSA is a bit embarassing to me as an American, but being an Amirican I eccept the fact that you and i dont have to agree to play nice with each other. Your squadrons name does offend other players Know that. Southerner or not. But good luck anyway.

You have stated the most over stated statment in thi Forum. but it works well for your excuse. I was a member of Enigma, a pround one at that, I personally believe that Enigma is the Top Squadron in game! The rules one must agree to and abide by, to be a member are worthy rules and set a sertain precedence of honor and integrity to the members of Enigma. Thats exactly why i didn't open a second account to join this small but proud little groupe of Msfits. see it would have been contradicting to the rules I had agrred to uphold therefore shatering my credibility and any integrity i thought i had!!! your coment: "Those that are in other squads and have a second account only do so inorder to stay loyal to their first squad" WHAT????? how are you layol to the first squad? oh i see.... they don't know your blowing there members out of the sky.... I hope that the 121st Misfits keeps its integity as a squad, and at some piont be thought of with the same respect as Enigma.
When I left I told my fellow E's that I was leaving and why.... I remembered something my Dad said to me once after a show of poor form on my part, when i read your post General. He said to me "you'll know your integrity by the things you do when no one is watching.......

This is not about the old south and how they did their thing. If truth be told, my dad was from texas. He told me alot about the south thats not in the history books. But again it not about that crap. Its all about the two accounts that they want to start up and possibily try and spy on other squads. Whats is this supposed to teach ever one? How to make other squads and learn how to spy on other aquads?

And the talk of being loyal. Hahahaha stop you make me laugh. There is nothing loyal avout starting another account. That means you secretly turned your back on you resected squad. Now i left the best squad in df for reasons of my own. Creating the Misfits was a sper of the moment thig. I respect all the big squads. But if i was to stay in the falcons, and make the misfits i would be disrespecting them. Sorry not an opition with me. The loyal ones who stay and not make another account have my respect.

What I was touching on was the two accounts, clearly your statement was regarding the businees side of the post.

Ok, first off I said I see no problem with it as long as the rules are not broken. You will be very surprised on who has second accounts.......Most of the time its for harmless reasons.....There are some who would create second accounts inorder to avoid a ban <=======this is wrong............Now if Joaquin states that we are never to have second accounts. Then we shall abide by his rules.
I have played against many players with second accounts and you know who you are, not a big deal........I do have a second account and if Enigma desires to boot me from their squad, then I will leave Enigma with no hard feelings.....My intentions are harmless wilh no less integrity than when I had one account.......As a game, I play as a game. As long as rules are followed. As a moderator, I take my job seriously and do the best job I know how.......

We can continue to debate on this issue, but keep the mud slinging and flamming out of it!!

Check your post again, mud was thrown when assuming that we're role playing. If you read the beginning of this debate, key word used here is game, you won't find role playing here.
