Parrot, Paws, Walsh and other in game today I'm sorry if I ruined the game today in btb but I had finally had enough. Talking to these people is not working and trying to reason with them is a waste on time. So it seems the Majority seem to indorse dropping bombs to get the edge. So, With that being said, If I think a player has dropped in game then I will do same. I will always carry when called for till I come across those who don't. Then, it's on... Thunderbolt... You are good and I enjoyed the earlier games where you carried. But as you can see, Im not that easy to kill myself if I drop....

I guess dropping is the only way some feel is the only way to level the playing field.
Personally I keep mine unless I have no other option (need speed or altitude quickly or I hear theirs drop).

More infuriating to me is joining on the wrong side of a 5 or 6 vs 1 and being hit on the runway and / or finding one who comes is high on every approach..
If you want to fly straight, bomb and fly back, go do the practice missions!!!
If you want to play, fight and improve, have a go!!

Today was the last straw for me and I broke my own rules and quit.
You want to fly against no-one, be my guest.

I guess stats are more important to some than the game itself.

Wow! I can't say I'm at all surprised that they are one in the same. Played an entire game with him (thunderbolt) where he dumped every time. Even after I questioned him he played dumb..."oh, I thought you dumped yours too..." He then had the nerve to say I was weak for going high on a bomb run. I'll let you in on a little secret Bomber, the playing field is significantly larger than the tiny strip that lies directly in line between the two bases at 100ft off the ground. Going high or wide to complete the mission is strategy. Dumping your bomb on takeoff in a bombing mission is selfish, does nothing to help your team and just shows that you can't handle a little challenge. It's funny, after I dove on your base and hit your hangars, we got tied up in a scrap above your base. You were never even close to getting me. To bad I was trying to type in the chat "not so easy to hit me with no bomb huh?" and managed to fly myself into the ground. I deleted the chat message because I felt dumb sending it after that, but the fact still stands that you could not get close to me when we were evenly matched. You are such a good pilot that it drives me nuts seeing you lower yourself to that level, but hey if that's how you get your ego boost who am I to say its wrong. Serial spawn killer + serial dumper = SERIOUSLY WEAK. I don't expect anything to change, I've seen your posts and the feeling that I get is you either don't get it or don't care. I don't even care if I get lit up by you in the future because you choose to apply the same tactics as in past games. I'm going to continue to play to the mission I've been assigned and to do what I can to help my team win the game using actual strategy and playing with integrity. Jimmy, u called me weak first for dumping, so i said its weak that u go up high. And do u remember me saying that u are way better than me but going up high is just weak. And if u didn't want me to dumb then why did u try to chase me. U called me weak first then i called u weak. Refresh ur memory bud, and me being thunderbolt was no secreat, i already told everyone.

I chase everyone. It might take me twenty min to get to the enemy base because of all the side tracks, but guess what, when i do finally get there i still have my bomb..go figure. Defending your base or ship is integral to the game but not the only aspect. I play the same way no matter who is on the other side. Sometimes it works out for me, sometimes it doesn't. I don't mind getting shot down in the course of the game. Outside of a DF mission I have never had a game where I went the whole game without getting shot down. You need to refresh your memory. Even after I told you that I never dump and you apologized for doing so, you continued to do so. I went high to see if I could get to your base, unload and then have a chance to engage you on even terms. I wasn't just gonna dump to off set you doing it. I'm just sorry we didn't get to finish our one on one. Like I said, I think you are a real good pilot. I just wish you would take a chance and play the game to win the mission and not to just pad your stats. Who knows you might even like it and it will make you better than you already are. Oh, and sorry, I didn't get the memo on the name change.

Bomer I wish I had known this was you, I had been in games earlier with you but didnt really know thunder bolt so let it under my skin, That in its self does not justify my behavior. I had just reached that point where I said enough is enough, my grand son told me last night about a player doing same and spawn killing (Not Bomer/Thunder bolt) he didnt have their name but I let my mind wonder and decided this may be the guy and went off. I'm more than alittle protective of him, that didnt help

Also I to go high sometimes especially after a red comes in that way, Ill go high so I can detect them before they get to our base.

Dr dave i like to apologize to u, i didn't know it bothered u that much. i go up high to look for people too and i drop my bomb before doing that because i dont lile wasting time, it takes forever to go up high with a bomb. And about spawn killing, i do spawn killing but not if they are low ranks. If ur grandson was a low rank and got spawn killed then it wasn't me. But if he was a group capt or higher and its possible that it was me. Btw u have gotton so much better since we last played. I can't even scratch u anyone, so i have been practicing chasing.

Bomber, I went over the top only after being shot down by you at least another half dozen times AFTER we had established your dumping habit and the fact that I had my bomb. Don't get all preachy on me son. Lets not forget that this entire incident can't be traced back to a singular point in time. Do u realize that i was carrying my bomb when we first started playing and dropped it when u got behind me. i had my bomb till then, and when someone does loops and try to get behind me, i think its because they are trying to chase me. And like i said, if u dont like it then deal with it.

Bomer I like you, and I know everybody plays differently as for my grd son he can't remember who it was. But I shouldn't have let this get to me so bad. But I will stand by my guns for now on ill keep the bomb free planes busy if they drop so everyone else can play the game. And as for wasting time that's what everybody feels like when one or more players alter the playing field by dropping or spawn killing. The game needs new people to grow but when they come in an get spawn killed they leave and that hurts us all. Our squads can only grow if we have new blood.

Also Bomer your a good pilot and don't need to drop if some one gets behind you, You can out fly then if you try. And yes that's why I knew you dropped, I saw it come off in the turn,

Premature bomb dropping is such a catch 22 that it really needs to be addressed. Lets face it, it is perfectly safe to say that in most instances, the general consensus is to hang on to your damn bomb and fight like a man, sluggish and all. The only acceptable exception is obviously when you are in a pinch and outnumbered and as a last resort. I dont buy into all of this "to protect my base" noise (I'll say it again, unless you are outnumbered at your base). There's so much talk of this topic that it is clear, the problem arises when a player drops at every single freaking take off. If you are the only one in your team, this is acceptable and no one cares, but if the teams are matched up in numbers, this is just plain out a p***y move.

Unfortunately, unless the software is modified, this will be an ongoing issue. My suggestion: everyone gets two free drops in every game (unless you are the only player, then you get unlimited drops till help arrives).

Jeez, guys. If Bomer wants to drop his bomb, let him drop his bomb. There's really not much you can do, it's a part of this game. Sure, you could say that we should all be chivalrous flyers, but that's probably not a reality.

I think it's curious as to how far people will go to make war games "fair". I'm not trying to sound harsh, but at the moment, we are not allowed to: kill enemies before they take off, get in a tank unless you are far enough from the enemy base, parachute onto a carrier and shoot from its runway, and now it's, you can't drop your bomb in BTA/BTC games.

As much as we all love DF with a passion, this is really just a game. If your enemies drop their bombs, guess what? You can too.

My dear looney Luna, this all a buncha noise to publicly shame those players that annoy the ever loving snot out of some of us. I believe most, if not all, of the opponents to habitual dumpers have said the dumpers can dump if they like, but we (the players that actually enjoy the mission aspect of the "missions") recognize your practice and will not be party to the stat padding.

Unfortunately, you cannot shame someone with no shame. This is just a game and we all play it, in our own way, for our own enjoyment. Dumpers are going to dump, and non-dumpers are going to hate it. I don't think there is anyone "really" asking for a programming change to prevent it.

I suspect those that have no regard or sense of team play or fair play, i.e. dumpers/abusive spawnkillers, have little self-esteem and get their jollies by taking advantage of a situation to make them feel better about themselves. That's really sad, but that's the way see it and call it. Oh look, I have 75 kills. I'm awesome! It's frustrating for those that are mission-oriented team players. It's all the more frustrating when we discover the "top" pilots in the game are also the folks that play without honor and integrity and have obviously made their way to the "top" by abusing the loopholes available. If your "skill" is based on killing pilots on the ground or ignoring mission goals to increase your kill count, I simply have no respect for those "skills" or the pilots that use and defend their use. I have now seen so many of the pilots that I respected and (honestly) feared are really spineless hacks. Let them "earn" their points how ever they choose, we the vocal opposition have declared that we see what you are doing and will do our best to deny them those points.

So there is no confusion, and nobody assumes I am or am not referring to them, please allow me to list a few of the most infamous dumpers I have observed.

Most pilots that I've come to know in these forums are quite honorable, if not for a few ups and downs. IMO, these are the players I like to see in the skies. I don't care if you have twice as many deaths as you do kills, or vice versa. As long as after every respawn, you get push the throttle and get back up there as a team player, you're pretty awesome in my book, and I'd love to fly with you anytime.

When I first started out playing DF, I was CRAZY over my K/D, and I did anything and everything possible to get that bad boy up. This includes shooting planes on the runway, bomb-dumping, etc. Not only that, but it seemed like everyone else was doing it too.

It wasn't until I saw that the community frowned upon this behaivior did I stop. Most players will, too. If someone on my team spawnkills, I usually say something like, "Hey, you could let them take off." If someone on the opposite team constantly drop their bombs, I say, "Don't worry, the bomb doesn't make you look fat," then hope it sinks in.

I think shaming is a perfectly fine tool. But certainly note the following circumstance:

I was in a Bomb The Base mission, pretty well matched between teams, and a mid-ranked teammate dropped his bomb coming out of the home airport with me. He said something like "I will take the lead", and I responded, "No choice since you dropped your bomb. Please make a hole." You know what? He proceeded to clear a huge hole for me to deliver my bomb.

Was it unfair for him to unleash his lightened airframe on the enemy? In this case, no, because he killed most of the enemy planes head-on. But even if he did kill in a turning fight, he was doing it very specifically to clear the way for me. He stayed a little ahead of me and never left the cover position. Did he stick around and spawn-kill enemies without more bomb-ladened planes en route? I hope not, but I wasn't there since my game quit right after.

This scenario wouldn't be so fair if he had been a high-ranked player (and the enemy were all low-ranked) who could then run circles around the enemy without too much challenge. I totally agree that whatever your rank, you learn a LOT more and get better faster by keeping the iron weight strapped to your belly. I have little respect for those who dump all or most of the time AND are high-ranked, because by my observation, few of these players are doing to specifically clear a hole. They don't cover active bombers, and chase enemy planes well out of reach of the bombers. And they often stick around the enemy base waiting for new planes to spawn (I head back to reload; but of course if I see bullets flying from behind me, I will turn back and defend, and then head back to base). It's my right to choose who I respect and don't respect, who I like playing with and who I don't. Just like nonames, I can choose to leave a game because I just don't like playing with them.

But shame? Definitely. Shame shame! Boooo!
