Should that maybe be brought to a "Damage Prevention Officer"? A person specific to stuff like that. Give him the info and let him handle it.

2.
A player has an issue with a member from another squad. Maybe that player from another squad was tank glitching for example. You either put it on the blacklist or you would give all the info to the "Damage Prevention Officer" and he handles it for you.


I want to know what everybody's thoughts are. Do you think we need to have policies in place regarding how people post and react to things that occur?

I think it would be a good idea if we had 2 Damage Prevention Officers(they don't have to be called that...they could be called something else...just the first name that came to mind.)

One would handle issues between squads. The other could handle internal issues. Maybe just one would do.

If this is something everyone would be interested in let me know. Respond on here or send me a pm.

It could be open to anyone who wants to do it. Even if you're not a current officer. You just need to have a level head and be objective.

Enjoyed flying with B52, CC and Bullet today. Also a special thanks to Pinkstar and B-52 who stuck with me during another mega slug fest with some great player. After B52 showed up some the reds started to disappear Also if anyone can help me with a new banner something that has Helicopters in it, maybe with a door gunner blazing away. The H-3 was what I flew on, its call sign was Jolly.

TBuilt, when you siad you were disappointed in me it bothered me. So I would like to apologize for the whole sqaud to see for not having my facts straight and any thing else I may have siad. I was hurt and reacted. Like Comet siad, hindsight is 20/20. There is two modes for me, calm or over the top. Comet makes a lot of sense with his idea about a public information officer, or whatever you want to call it. Many organizations use this method precisly to prevent knee-jerk comments that can be blown out of proportion, or add fuel to the flames. Even members who chose not to engage in attempts to get the last word get splattered by the mess others create because they think they know the exact thing to say that will stop it. Never works. Please consider his idea.

I could see your idea having some merit. However, I think the big challenge will be to convince the rank and file that they should let the Damage Control Officer handle things for them in the heat of the moment. Not so sure that some of our personalities don't get some enjoyment from the heated banter. I am not one of those.

Then there will be issues of those having the problem not being pleased with how the DCO handled the situation.

I appeciate the recommendation walleye and Hulk, but I must decline. I want my limited time on dogfight to be fun. I prefer to avoid confrontations.

If Comet is willing to serve and the squad thinks the position is warranted, I would recommend accepting his offer. Quickly, before he gives it additional thought.

Thank you Gaw for your getting in before me lol ( I have been away for a few days )and have been thinking very much along the lines of your post ,meaning to present my views on here but you got here before me lol.
Damage control is the key , because once something has been raised on wc it is very difficult to retract it. I feel we all need to think before we say anything that might bring the misfits into disrepute. I fear the reputation of the misfits has been tarnished by the action of a few members. Now let me be quite clear I DO NOT THINK THAT ANYONE SHOULD BE OFFENDED BY WHAT I HAVE SAID!!
It has happened , we are all brothers in this squad and we should stand firm together shoulder to shoulder, but let us learn from it and move on together. I have great respect for ALL the officers in this squad but with high office comes great responsibility , so please no knee jerk reactions to my post it is just me saying my piece.
A great deal of hurt has been done and we all need to take responsibility for it , so can we all please take more care , after all this is a game to enjoy and nobody should be reduced to tears because one of us didn't realise the damage their words could cause.
It is not my intention to point the finger at anyone in particular and I hope nobody takes my words the wrong way . We need to stick together under ALL our officers and move on with a more thoughtful attitude.

Although I seemingly have a hard time agreeing with many Misfits, especially when it comes to being on the same side in a mission , I think the concept is a pretty good one. This position would require an individual to be active, objective, level-headed, respected by all, and a good communicator who can facilitate goodwill not only on our behalf, but throughout Dogfight in general. That being said...that pretty much eliminated most of you, nothing personal AHAHAHAHA This position also requires that Misfits respect the rulings and observations of this person without incurring arguments and disagreements on the any forum. This position would need to be unbiased and nothing would be posted without first communicating any issue through the officers first.

Next...name has to change as including "Damage" already sends a signal that something is wrong. Personally, I would think "Squad Relations Officer" or something with 'relations' in it as it is denotes fairness and fosters a neutral, yet positive, attribute.

Walleye...I am with you that I would have nominated GAW since he seems to fill a lot of the characteristics, but I respect and understand his reasons. Next, I thought of Jolly since I thought his name reflected his overall mood, only to find out otherwise I think are biggest problem is finding someone who can be this person. Walleye? Pagan? Do we even have anyone who fits the bill?
