So I'm afraid I've gotten myself in a bit of trouble with the missus. I'm not exactally sure of what it was that I did wrong. I merely explained to her that starting tomorrow afternoon I would not be available to speak to her. Nor would I be engaging in any of the following activities: feeding the children, cleaning up the dishes, picking up around the house, moving laundry from point a to point b, fueling up the vehicles, going to the store, going to the library, tackling any of the number of items on the honeydo list or anything else that would distract me from the task at hand. In her most sincere and quite agitated voice she asked me "why?" My response.. " Because sweetheart, the NHL is starting up and I will be busy watching the Blackhawks!"
I assured her that she was not alone for I would not be visiting my mistress (DF) either.....she was not amused

Truth be told I will probably sneak in a game or two during the intermissions

Playing with Quiet and watching his skills reminds me of what we used to call those farts we tried so hard to blame on others but everyone knew it was you all along. I mean the SBD ones - silent but deadly.

And don't deny that you never cut a few. Child please. Yours were probably the stinkiest.

Growing up one of my favorite toys I had was the table hockey game, the one that had the players in slotted positions that you controlled with long metal control sticks that jutted out from the game. My brother and I had the one that featured the Bruins and Rangers. Since I was older and born in NY I always played the Rangers. Hated the Bruins. When we moved to Philly later I got to see many Flyers games at the old Spectrum. All that did was reinforce my hatred of the Bruins and Islanders. We don't get "real" hockey so far down and I hope this latest labor fiasco doesn't permanently affect the game.

I love slot hockey! They still have those up here (chicago) in a lot of the ice rinks. Maybe they've become watered down over the years but the Stars moved down there from Minesota. The north stars used to be one of my favorite teams..behind the Blackhawks of course!

HOLY COW!!! Almost the exact same conversation in my house, except it was the wife informing me about the start of the NHL! She's a hockey chic fo sho. Except its the canes here. I grew up in NC, don't watch NASCAR and love hockey. Quite The oddball I am.

Sure am glad the NHL and players' union oth had that cranial/anal extraction performed and are getting back to playing!

Wow just read the blacklist thread... That thing blew up when I wasn't looking. Hope that's all behind us now.

I like pigeons, in fact I'm nursing an injured one right now, I like Sparrows too. I like birds, including the flying sort!

I have not been here long so would never make suggestions but I absolutely agree with Scooby24, love seeing his name pop up and it doesn't matter how many times I pump him with lead, he keeps coming back

I can't speak for all but spelling and grammar are just as important to me when reading about someone for the first time.
