Hi MOMs,

I think at one point you were considering cubanoloco91 for squad membership. I read the MOM thread only so far (geez you guys go on and on ), and I'm not sure if he ever explained his past behaviors to you in repentance. At least I've never seen it, and it didn't come up in Search. He was asking in the Support folder why he was banned. My answer FYI:

Just read all of those. I appreciate you speaking out. On the whole, I think the mods do a great job. And I know this deal with cubanoloco has obviously got your undies in a twist. I was recently in several games with him and all but one he was a model pilot. The one exception had some language I'd rather not see. Personally I've never seen anything else but the posts on here. As I posted on his thread, if he can refrain from that, I have no issue with him. You didn't offend me at all. Shout it from the top of duck mountain if you wish.

On another note, Skunkoil was recently reinstated and flew with him earlier. Good guy. Real team player.

Cuban does seem to have a problem with the language. Hopefully this takes care of that. But... I've never seen anything from him in my time here (a few months) to warrant banning him... With one exception when someone started cussing at him and he returned the favor. Bad judgement there? Yes. Banned for good? Not hardly.

Hopefully I don't end up regretting standing up for the guy, but I just didn't like it.

I have to agree on the Cuban thing. The only thing I knew about the guy was from what I was reading on the thread. When I finally came across him in game I was expecting the worst, but that wasn't the experience I had. He has never done anything in game that I would deem ban worthy. I know that others haven't had the same experience and I trust that their account of the events are accurate. If it seems like the guy is showing improvement in the socially responsible/trustworthy game play department then it would be a shame to throw him under the bus..just my two cents

I've had a PM from Cubanoloco, as well as a number of shared games in the last few days. No one disagrees that he's a highly skilled player. I haven't seen any flagrant transgressions like team killing, spawn raping, over-the-top abusive language. Still, it's my feeling that there's no hurry. The longer he plays clean, the more it'll weigh against the poor impression he's made on a lot of players including M.O.Ms. I told him we're happy to keep him in mind, that we've slowed our recruiting process and no longer rush to vote...and that a squad-wide unanimous vote would be necessary. I also told him I'd be happy to help him find a spot in The Black Eagles, who've reportedly expressed an interest, or any other squad if he's in too much of a hurry to wait for us to satisfy our concerns.

Cubano is, I think, a nice guy working through some interpersonal interaction issues, reforming his in-game image, and may or may not prove at some point to be M.O.M compatible. No reflection on him, just our new, more rigorous recruiting process working as designed.

As for his membership in a squad (including ours), ill leave that to the powers that be. I gave my opinion on the guy a few weeks ago solely because he was being discussed (a lot). My beef tonight was seeing him outright banned now, when all of this was obviously in the past. I got the feeling that he was on someone's very dusty sh@'t list that was found lying behind the desk somewhere. If someone has been acting like that in the last week or two and the forum is filled with discussion regarding it, then by all means... Off with their head. But in his case... Well, my opinion is well documented now in the "sorry" thread.

Very curious. I thought that getting banned meant that your text didn't work. I guess I misunderstood. What exactly happens to a player when they get banned?
