I was noticing there's a large number of players that tend to forget something in bombing games.... I'm sure they don't think so poorly of their skills that they need that kinda edge?

Just lost a game earlier because of this. Drives me nuts. If you can't win the game without bombing something then don't drop upon takeoff thank you very much...

Listed this very thing as my top pet peeve in a recent ParrotHead Poll.

If you can't play as a teammate get off my team! As for opponents doing it, I have started letting past so the can circle the base. This is usually lower ranked guys and they may get a SK or 2 in, but they won't win the game.

However, I have started noticing some higher ranked, established players doing it and that really gets my knickers in a twist.

Not going to name names... But I have started looking them up on the ranking list and can see the trend. 1000s of kills compared to minimal games won. Tells a real story. These selfish turds are only worried about their kills and nothing for playing as a team.

Bombing trees is pretty fun. Just saying

If I have 2 holes in my windshield and being chased by a higher level flyer, or facing a swarm over my base as I spawn; I'm dropping and fighting. Otherwise I agree; bring the bombs.

Well I can say almost 70% of my kills were done carrying a bomb. It steadies my aim. And if you use the extra weight it can flip you into a sharper turn than a plane without bomb.

Strategies and tactics is different in every single game and every player needs to find his or her nich. I for one could not hit the broadside of a barn at first so to help the team momentum of each game I would try and find what works for that one game. Sometimes that means drop and run/cover/distract ect.... For me it's all about the team play at that moment..

I agree with BrianC219, STRATERGY is everything.
We all play as a TEAM unless u're a team killer.
As i would put, bombers also have fighter escorts it's all part of TACTIC.
No BOMB = No WIN True.
Each game differs.
I've been in a mission, bomb the hangers with 3 v 5.
I a high ranker and 2 teammates medium to low rank still WON against all odds even tho they the reds had 5 players 3 high rankers and 2 medium rankers.
I admit i droped my bomb to make cover for my fellow teammates to bomb not at first but later when the reds were at the door steps.
I also droped my bomb to defend the base many many many times durring that game. A real full on war, planes, tanks all coming at us

At the first try to reading your first post, Dr Dave, I thought that you were criticizing people that decide to go stealth to enemy's hangars, like if they were "running" from the midle fields apparentely to avoid the fight...
I am saying this because I already have been criticized by some players for doing it... But it needs to be stated clearly that I only do it when I see that I can't help with my low skills on head-ons.
By the way, these issues could be fixed by some kind of "ingame-team-only-chat".

Edit: Now that I understood what you meant, I agree with you: in more than one session, I won the game against more skilled players, with less kills (in one of these games, I clearly remember that reds had more than 60 kills, and all of us blues got only 9 kills, and we managed to win the game - that was epic).

I call it Tactic just like droping the bomb to be a fighter if need be.
The only two things i hate most r 1.TEAM KLLERS ( makes no sense for the game at all, ruines the game for everyone )
2.SPAWN KILLERS ( no matter what u don't do it ) unless it's an accident can happen once not twice or more.
I don't know about 60 kills but in a good game u can atleast get 20 or more kills if u're in a good game and i don't consider myself great that is with or without a bomb.

Yazuka friend I agree up to the only 20 kills in mission I've see tony69 wracked up over 80 in a mission.

If the game calls for bombing why would you want to alter the game just for your own benefit ? ie. So you don't get shot down because your skill level is so low that your afraid you won't have any kills at end game? There's a reason I never end a game with more than 20 to 30 kills, Thats because I get them carrying a bomb... As the game implies!!! Maybe I should start dropping bomb at onset of each game and see how many kills I can rack up??? I'd love to have a BIG KILL NUMBER game... Oh yes,,,, it's called fair play for ALL players. But who knows I may change my mind...

If I see it happening i drop chase the other guy doing it. I can dogfight all day so it doesn't bother me at all. I tie the guy up while my team goes by and bombs there base. Won several games this way. If they break and try to shoot my team they die. I've found this to be a good tactic. The ones that you see doing it get tired of getting shot down real quick and leave. Then I collect my bomb and go back to flying around with it. I like running em outta town.

I got accused of not flying with one the other day. Funny. It actually helps u aim head on. Flying with out a bomb doesn't help head on. Just helps you in a turning fight. You can't win the game with out a bomb. My tips for the day.

Since you added this post doc I have been dropping less. Even try dogfighting with the bomb. Like slow motion but I do it. At least until I here my foe drop his.

That's funny and fine Max but I just finished a game with Parrot and Kosch where we won the game and I carried my bomb throughout the game. Parrot asked if I had dropped but no I hadn't. He and Kosch both fell to my fire a few times. All while carrying a bomb.

It all depends on the situation on if I got my bomb or if I don't got it. Those of you who know me well I would prefer to see every one drop there bomb and just into a big turning dogfight lol. It makes things more intense. I usually keep my bomb with me because it is really nice to have when charging head on into enemies keeps you nice and steady and level just to pop some shots into your enemy and if you time things right you get to the enemy base with not much problems and can bomb them.
But there is always that game were no one gets anywhere they get to the center of the map and all kill each other or your guys are always close to the enemy base but just can't get that last 100 feet to bomb the blasted thing. When that happens and things look grim for me when I get there might as well drop the bomb and force them into a big dogfight and push them right back onto there front porch and get at lest one or two team mates in with a bomb and acutely do some damage to them then repeat getting killed in the same spot over and over again. As long as you give the guy 4 to 5 seconds after getting off his runway it is not a spawn kill. 10 seconds for newer pilots and slower planes though. They tend to take longer.
The point is dropping your bomb dose not make you a coward or a chicken. Your enemy and your opponent have the same opportunity to drop there bomb and make you look like a fool by killing you. Now if your going to be stupid and toss out the were is your bomb or fly with a bomb or fight fair, well lets just say the joke is on you. Calling some one a coward for going high is just another way of saying I am whining because your doing something that makes me lose a game or a hanger or is making me have to do more lol.
My advice to every one don't complain about the way some one plays except for spawn killing that is just morally wrong and ruins a game completely. Only one person can have fun in a spawn kill and that is the guy doing the spawn killing. Just learn how to counter what that person is doing. Some one going high or around keep playing as normal but after you haven't seen them for some time then get killed or get back to your base and spend a few moments there waiting to get them when they show up. Some one flying with no bomb, drop your bomb and show them your the better turn fighter or dogfighter. Show them that what they are doing won't work against you or your team and they will change what they are doing because of 1 they will get sick of dyeing and failing at it and 2 they will realize it is not helping them in anyway but making things harder on them.

Sorry if I offended any of you with how I worded this but it is the truth you all have the same opportunities in game as the guy flying next you and the guy trying to kill you.

I agree but as I said its a players choice I'd like to see everyone play the way I do but that's a unrealistic view and won't happen any time soon, but it would be nice. Sadly if you watch more often than not its the higher ranks that tend to drop... But NOT ALL and NOT MOST of them. But there are some that in every game......... They come empty handed.
