That was a little disrespectful. Next time, I will just keep personal stuff off the boards. Maybe stay off the boards all together. Shared a unique situation, that Viper and I were on a ship together way before this game was around. All I get for it is some wierd wolf azz sniff comment. Fy very much, but I am just a little pissed at the comment.

Now excuse me while I take another pain med. Oh wait, next will be a picture of a wolf shooting up...

Very sorry my posts offended you that was not my intention. Thought maybe I could get a smile or a laugh or just brighten up your day. Your and vipers service to our country is commendable. I did not share any personal information that was not already posted in previous posts . I would never do that to anyone. I'm not sure where that wolf shooting up comment you referenced came from.
Well heck maybe I'm the one that should stay off this thread all together. I don't know.

Sorry

What did I miss? Looks like it got taken down before I got to see it.

May day, that is a funny pic with my face as a wolf... love it.

navmed, we should be able to bust each others chops a bit in good fun. I didn't see the comment so I don't know what you got pissed about... perhaps I would have been offended as well. Dunno. I do know that when I asked you to post that link I did so knowing full well there would likely be some ribbing from it. While I am good with that kind of stuff, having spent a career around folks who bust each others stones continuously, I didn't take into account you may not be okay with it and wanted to keep that stuff on pm for a good reason. Sorry, man. :(

Frankly, I really think it is unique and pretty awesome that we did a cruise together. That was a great cruise, a great career, and I wouldn't trade it for a million dog fight games. I don't know about you, but I am proud to have served with you.... and if that generates azz sniffing comments, well that doesn't diminish how I feel. Let them make fun, its likely out of jealousy or something.

Ask yourself this, was may day being malicious, or was he just poking fun? In my opinion, intent is everything.

Again, I didn't see the comment so I don't know what got you pissed.

Bottom line, you both are valuable assets to the squad. May day has apologized. Please continue to contribute to our thread, both of you. I think we all enjoy reading you two's posts.

I aint letting you stay off here. Iapologize for getting my snout twisted. Viper, I am ok ,I finally nodded off for a bit.

ok everyone, back to chewing reds.... lets go,move out. I need coffee, where's any probie?

I like to make people smile or laugh and have fun. I like to share parts of my life that may interest others or help anyone in anyway that I can. The last thing I want to do is offend or push others away. I want to do the exact opposite and bring everyone together. Sometimes that can be a fine line between the two. A line that I have obviously crossed and for that I am truly sorry navmed. We are all here for the same thing friends and fun. Life is very short let's make the most of it.

check your egos at the door, keep your sense of humor,if it offends you speak in private. I blasted poor mayday, a freaking comedian by the way that has had me laughing everytime he posts. I blasted him in public, made myself look like a jerk.

So May Day, the wolf heads they sure improved our looks. Viper and I never looked better.

Damn this arm hurts...

When we first heard that Elite was replacing DF1 at any minute, I bowed to the inevitable and installed Elite. This was several months ago. I played for about a week, slowly improving, but missing DF1 tremendously. Made it to WR#21 in Elite. Then, I heard that our stats would transfer over, so I figured that the smart play was to go back to DF1 and play there, racking up stats at a much higher rate. Got to WR#31 in DF1, then heard once again that DF1 was closing any minute. Reluctantly, I made the jump back to Elite.

My stats did transfer over, but not my MORAF rank, just my numerical rank, 32. Major bummer! And now there are 47 ranks to achieve before I get back my MORAF status. Grrrrrrrr...

So, once again, I start over. My Elite WR has now slipped to #243, sigh. I play my heart out, cursing darned near everything about Elite. So what if the graphics are better?! The planes are sluggish, and the lag is horrible. Worst of all, IT IS SOOOOO HARD TO SEE THE ENEMY!!! Yes, we have new WW2 planes (very cool!), but they fly much slower than their rated speeds---I looked it up---so they are even more sluggish in handling characteristics than the WW1 biplanes in Elite. I also don't like the timer idea. Cuts off games just as you are diving to deliver the last bomb for a win (!).

However, I slowly get the hang of it, and I improve from WR#243 to #9 over the last month. Then, DF1 is still in operation, and I can't find anyone to play against in Elite, so I open up DF1. Lo and behold, games all over the place filled faces both old and new! I have a blast, and play for 4 hours straight. So much fun, and great to see people I haven't seen in a month. I miss much of DF1 very much.

But, I will admit, I am also beginning to like a lot about Elite. My biggest remaining complaints are:

(1) slowness of performance, so skill in flying is minimized, and shooting maximized

(2) Hard to see enemy, especially for older eyes like mine, and I HATE being shot down like a noob over and over again because I can't see 'em.

(3) LAG! Ruins far too many games.

(4) Very few people, so many empty games.

Dunc,

I didn't know so many are still in DF-1. I was out a few months and came back thinking all or most would be in Elite. Sadly, not the case.

Elite is frustrating and a challenge, but it does grow on you. I had no idea the top rank is 47!
I'll keep at it as time permits.

BTW, big congrats on WR #9, brother! See you and the other wolves up there,

GW

Downloaded the latest update for elite last night and played some, I don't know if it was the update or luck but didn't have any lag issues or lost connection. Maybe things are turning around. :)

Congrats on #9 Dunc!
Now even though I haven't started to play elite I've been talking to people that play and they have the same problems as you and your right there's alot of people playing df1. I agree about the time limit but all in all its more difficult than df1 and hoping elite gets rid of all the little problems.

I can't remember if I thanked you for making my p.o.m medal if not I would like to say thanks buddy . Sometimes I get caught up in work and doing things around the house and I forget sometimes. I ended up installing df1 again and have been playing df1. I now have both apps on my phone and while at work I play both df1 and elite to pass the time. Sometimes while at work I get very bored. I finish up at work on Monday and have 2 weeks off. I wanted to go to myrtle beach again but the wife doesn't want to go. I am going to take my kayak up the mountains with my brothers and friends and spend some time fishing and drinking beer.

5 of the dumbest things I ever did
1. Called an older gentleman dressed in a suit a stupid dumbass in a store
Turns out he was a doctor
2. Tried to open the front door of my house by repeatability pressing a keyless remote to my car.
Alcohol was involved
3. Ran a treble hook of a jitterbug thru my wife's ear while fishing out of a boat in Canada.
She never did forgive me for that one. It kinda looked good dangling from her ear
4. Ran over my 25000 gal swimming full pool with my tractor . Took the deck with it.
Alcohol involved again. Yep she is still mad about that one to.
5. Sank a canoe in the middle of a lake and had to swim to shore on the 1st day of trout season.
The shoreline was lined with hundreds of shoulder to shoulder fishermen cheering and laughing
Dang that water was cold my boys shrank up like raisins.

Maybe someone can share some dumb things with the pack.

Howdy all..!

I second Jasta, great post Mayday.

OK..I once wore two different black shoes to work to give a presentation. I was running late and put them on in dark walk-in closet. I kept wondering why one sounded different than the other!

Thought of another--lit BBQ grill on fire years ago. Trying to cook too fast and torched some plants in the yard. Wife was just thrilled at my unique way of cooking!  Just kidding, she was not happy.

I was about 21. Duck hunting with my friend on the Mad River in Glen Huron. We were in a canoe and came upon a log jam. I was in the back and my friend was in the front. As I got out the canoe rolled and my brand new 12 gauge 1100 remington rolled out the back into the river. I could see the butt of the gun about 10 feet down. It was late Oct and about 5 degrees out. So I stripped down nude, said a prayer and dove in..............   It was the coldest shocker you can imagine. I grab the gun and swam for the surface, I can still hear my friend laughing as I got out ;) My junk had shrivelled to a nonexistent state and I had the wildest brain freeze. Felt like my eye balls were popping out of my head. But I had my gun back and a new respect for boat safety. Got back into my dry cloths and called it a day. I dont see my friend much any more, but when I do that story always gets told. And of course it gets a little better each retelling. Like a good Fish tale

Thank you jasta. Wolves are in my opinion one of the most beautiful creatures in nature and I'm glad your wife enjoys my banner. I myself when I look at it just want to hug those pups and snuggle up beside them. Maybe one day I will get the privilege of hearing them howl.
