Flew my last game of DF1 last night, awesome intense game with Fenix as my only wingman toward the end then I lost conn and couldn't get back to the same game so I decided it was time to end it. Cancelled my subscription to DF1, may it rest in peace.
Now it's time to move on to a new era in DFE. It won't be the same but it will evolve into a new game on par with the one we have lost so have patience and play on my fellow wolves, that is the only way forward, and subscribe, it's only 2 bucks and change! You piss away more than that every day on stuff you don't even like! Subscribe so Zup can get this game running as it should and have more servers so you won't get kicked from games or lag.
Now get out there and knock some reds out of the sky !!!!!!

Let me first start out by saying Dogfight has been one hell of a ride. So many good times have been had here. I hope we all can find each other in the "Elite" skies real soon. I'm having some technical difficulties lately playing. I have zero WiFi currently, but manage to play on my phone via 3g. Mrs Skeeter and I are in the process of building a new home, so I'm stuck living the next few weeks in a family members garage apartment. I'm not ready to hit the retirement hanger just yet. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

I just reinstalled elite and played a couple games. This is how I feel between the comparison of elite and DF1. Some positive some negative but my honest opinion. The planes I feel are definitely an improvement . I feel if they were just a touch larger they would be perfect. The addition of trees on the battlefield was a great idea. The smaller gun sights are a big plus wow you just can not improve perfection. The controls like the fire and bomb buttons in my opinion are different and will take some getting use to but are fine. The one negative that can definitely be improved and probably the most important are where the planes are located . Too low under the name with no yellow rank symbol. The yellow rank symbol above the name enables opponents to center the target without any guessing. If the yellow rank symbol was added to the top center of the name and the plane moved higher similar to DF1 this game would be a homerun. Zup in my opinion has done a great job with this game and is obviously a very brilliant person. There is no possible way to satisfy everyone but the effort put forth in creating elite is impressive to say the least.

I switched yesterday and will continue to play on. This is a huge shakeup and I fear every squad will lose many members. Only the most tightest members will remain. I will still get alot of enjoyment out of elite and hopefully we will keep the most loyal players and pickup new recruits in the future. I was here from the beginning and will remain here for the hopefully a very long time.

I have elite but have a hard time playing it. The app keeps crashing, the games are empty, and it just doesn't have the fun factor of the first. Undoubtedly I will press on, just don't look to see me around too much until it gets fixed and runs smoother. Suddenly doing housework or yard maintenance looks pretty good.

I found out yesterday just before the app crashed on me the autodestruct now has a 15 second timer on it. What this means is if you want to go back to base to defend real quick, your tank turns on its side, or you inadvertently hit the wrong button, you have to wait 15 seconds before you respawn at your base. Not a fan of that change I can tell you for sure. Luckily for me, as I was cussing and yelling at my screen yesterday, the app froze so I couldn't play anymore anyway.

I've always been of mixed feelings on using auto destruct (or just plain crashing) as a means of rapid transport to the spawn point. I know it isn't argued about nearly as much as a lot of other tactics, but it always kind of bothers me to take a dive for any reason. It also robs the reds of the chance of scoring points on me as I fight my way back to the spawn point, and kind of bypasses all the hard work they did getting to my base so that it needed to be defended in the first place.

I just thought it would be more realistic, and create more strategy if you couldn't tank, then autodestruct. There are many great pilots and tankers, so they land and take the tank only to try and shoot planes. If a plane gets past them then they autodestruct to jump in a plane again. Well, if you couldn't autodestruct it would make you really think about taking a tank or not, because if you do take one you're stuck in it until you're destroyed. Seems only fair in my book. The same thing with bombing hangers and then crashing or using autodestruct. If it's an empty game I can understand, otherwise try the challenge of making it back home safe.

I am mostly playing Elite now, accepting it as the inevitable and DF1 as the guilty pleasure, lol. I really like so much about Elite. However, May Day alluded to something that is a real problem for me---seeing the enemy plane! I can't see it past middle distance, so I am getting riddled long before I get close enough to see my opponent. I hate this! It seems unfair to me that I can't defend myself at any distance. I've even tried using a magnifying glass and still can't pick up who's shooting at me. And, yes, I am using the red target square. I know he's somewhere in there! Add to this that we have only 240 rds, so we can't just spray n pray the way we did before. I was fine, even with my blurry vision, in DF1, but this is ridiculous. Younger players have a distinct advantage right now with their eyesight. I hope to God Zup reads May Day's post!

Glad to see many of you on Elite and hanging in there--Dunc, hope to fly with you soon!

It's been hit a miss (pun intended ) with the game. I think lag is a bit of an issue that causes freezing and time travel--think Einstein Relativity.

As far as tanks, they are sluggish turtles. Hope it changes. One thing I'm no fan of is when I chute if my plane crashes first, I die with it. That's the opposite of what should happen.

I guess my issue is that a) I had no idea this was in effect, and b) most of the time when I do parachute it is only because I don't want to stop typing to select jump or not and I hit enter... its not intentional. In the case I described it was just that way. I had landed and was typing, which defaulted to walk... then I couldn't go back to base. Kinda cheesy if you ask me but I am not one of zups consultants.

It doesn't matter. the forum is more fun than elite at this point anyway. Zup has made elite too good for me to enjoy I suppose. Then when I get lucky and am having a good game, crash! Pfft.

I'll be going to Elite when DF1 shuts down. I've played Elite a number of times.
I have still been on DF1 hoping to level up, but I don't see that happening.
Not sure what the exact shut down date is, I'm 100k away.

I have been doing an informal poll while in the skies of Elite, and it turns out my suspicions were correct---those that are doing particularly well are all playing on tablets or pc, which have much larger screens than my poor Samsung Galaxy Note 4 cell phone. I bought the biggest screen for a phone that there is in Best Buy. It did help me with DF1, but it doesn't touch the problem of seeing a red speck at a good distance away! I am getting blown out of the sky by players who were ranked waaay behind me in DF1. For example, just finished a rather long (and fairly boring, by DF1 standards) game of CTC. My KDR was 9 to 31! And it was the worst of anyone there. I can't remember the last time I played so poorly in DF1, but in Elite, this is my average, I'm embarrassed to admit. Guess what the other players played on? Yup, tablets and PCs. Their screen resolutions are much better than any phone, so it is possible to pick up the red plane much more easily.

I think Zup has made a mistake here, and he's going to lose the phone market share, which is a mistake. Lot more people carrying around phones, you know? May Day's ideas about changing the sight picture of the planes to being more like it was in DF1 are solid suggestions that would make it much better.

The danger is that there is a large population of fliers from DF1 that won't make the jump if they try Elite and feel like I have. There are other fliers than just MEAN who are considering giving up the game. I betcha most of them play on their phones, too, and just haven't figured out yet that they can't win when the other players can see you long before you can see them.

size is not the be all n end all my 10 incher was my main dogfight tablet but i find the backup tab i have a samsung galaxy tab A is better in elite but enuff about size thats a different story lets all fly n die up to the heavens
