I posted this on the Misfit Thread and will do same on GI Thread.

I agree I never expected squad wars to be a point game only that served to hunt new players. I was hoping it would be 4 vs 4 between squads. It is my hope that Zup plans this in the future. Right now WW1 is full of new players who are gunned down for pts and WW2 is mainly where top players fly on one side. I do switch if needed, but the I like one plane and we were given choice to PLAN Squad wars.

The poor sportsmanship has gone on for too long and limits the quality of bringing in new players to squads. WOLF PACK has been lucky in finding some fantastic new players, but it's hard to go into WW1 and watch the blood bath.

I'm hoping WW1 is left for new players and not a kill-zone only for top squads to earn points and bad mouth the noobs. Perhaps it can be suggested to Zup to move Sq. Wars to WW2 only and new players left to be in WW1 until they are ready.

In the mean time I will do what WP has always done--fly into WW1 and chat with players, help them and cheer them on when they level up.

I read this last night and wanted to add a few comments.

Dire and tbuilt are spot on regarding the recent poor sportsmanship driven by some folks who are point-driven, motivated by the squad war ranking system to dictate their style of play. While it is important to play to gain points to contribute to our squad wars tally, it is more important to maintain our style of play, specifically WP's commitment to fair play and respect for all players. That respect is just as important to a player who is in his first few minutes of df as it is to someone who has been around for years.

I frequently visit WW1 for games due to the WW2 games being either empty or one-sided. I understand folks have only one aircraft upgraded, a favorite plane, or just want to fly with their friends and/or squadmates. No big deal, and I encourage all WP guys to fly on the same team. While in WW1 I get games with plenty of players, and if they are low ranking I will do my best not to shoot them. Sometimes I fly without firing a shot and just dodge bullets to try to reach the objective. Its fun and challenging, however it contributes very little to our squad wars total. Sorry gang. Also, WW1 is a great place to watch newer players, see how they play, and scout possible recruits. Please don't visit there with the purpose of increasing your point total, kill total, or strictly to win, that isn't what our squad is about. When you folks do venture into WW1 make sure you say hello, cheer on the new guys, congratulate them when they level up, give pointers, etc. just as Dire has recommended.

While historically there have been folks who have taken their lumps as noobs, got slaughtered, but continued to play and are now top guys in various squads, I believe most will simply leave the game if those are the majority of their initial experiences. More players equals a healthy game into the future in my opinion.

Do I care about our rank in squad wars? Of course I do, but it doesn't dictate how I play this game. I may lose a point or two here and there but it is in the best interest of the game and our squad. That's my take on the whole thing.

Thanks for the post, Sir Dire. Sir TBUILT, thanks as well for bringing this situation to my attention. I had never considered flying in WW1 just to gain squad war points. That stuff wasn't even on my radar.

I agree.

My only concern is guys like me who don't yet have the ability to play WW2. I do my best to get war points for us, while trying to be a decent player to the newbies.

I think as opposed to what Dire suggested, if the party system idea was implemented and players in WW1 were placed in games according to their rank, it would be a lot better.

Despite the fact that WW2 has double points, I will always love WW1 as well, because I haven't forgotten that we used to only have WW1. Additionally, on a daily basis I see massive, epic battles in the skies of WW1 that remind me slower planes aren't a very limiting factor.

Agent, I was posting in reference to the game as it exists today. In the future it is very likely to change as this has been historically what happens. The squeaky wheel saying applies. In a perfect world all the aircraft on the various devices would be equal and the games would be more balanced in terms of skill and rank. However today these are the cards we are dealt and must play within the constraints of the game as it currently is configured.

I realize some are limited to WW1 and have no doubt that those who are represent us well in the skies. My post addressed the folks with the means to fly either theater and choose to do so for the specific intent of racking up points against inexperienced players. To be honest I haven't seen that in the WW1 games I have been in, but I am usually not on during the peak hours and therefore miss a lot.

Regardless of where we play, what aircraft we have, and who our opponents are, we must strive to set the example reference fair play and respect for all. That's all im saying. I avoid proposing changes to game format, aircraft, missions, server assignments etc. I trust zup knows what he is doing and likely has his hands full addressing all the various recommendations for change.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooOOOOOOOOooooooOOOOOOOOOOO

I have recently been dropping to my tier 1 planes while playing ww1 if its new players to limit my advantage. But I remember being new and most top players not easing up on me. Especially Dunc, Heroicz, Trip Taps, Comet, Hulk and others. I am glad for this ego bruising and butt whooping. As they pummeled me they also communicated to me that I was not getting picked on, that everyone went through this. Now I am not disagreeing with Dire. Most new players will get turned off being mangled every time they turn the key to start lol. But if you communicate the importance of learning how to take being out numbered, out gunned, and being out flown. They will be surprisingly receptive. Partly because top players are taking a notice of them, and showing that you are aware of there struggles. This is where great recruits arise from. This is how Dunc recruited me and trained me. Moving Squad wars to WW2 is a great Idea Dire. But I wonder if there is enough players out there with WW2 planes. And I do agree hunting noobs for points is not my play style. Regardless this is a great topic thread Dire and deserves some input and discussion. Having the pack have a clear mission expectation is key. As I understand this is what we are expected and encouraged to do.

1. Upon entering a match take note of squad mates and allies

2. If possible leave match to join allies and squad mates.

3. Prioritize your play to advance the squad in points.

4. Shoot all insects with extreme prejudice and brutality.                          AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo
lol.

Some players I no do not subscribe from our Squad. In effect they cannot leave the match. So should the pack that is subscribers try to side with the non sub, first?

If entering a game where the opposing team is three members of our allies and the side we enter on has one wolf and two MOM or TFL pilots, which side should we pick.

These are just some thoughts and questions I wanted to bounce off you guys. As you all know points and stats are not my priority, but the state of our squad is if that makes sense. Any ways Tomorrow is remembrance day in Canada. If you would not mind. On the 11th day, 11th hour, 11th min please take a moment to remember the people that sacrificed so much so we can have the way of life we enjoy

I'll make this short and simple, I agree with what all you guys are saying, oh and great input Cypher! You've done it again with your amazing writing skills!!

So it said I successfuly uploaded but nothing shows up....... I feel a little embarrassed by this whatever is going on with my Pc because it shows my post telling the image and it shows the attachment attached and pressed add file and nothing then it said message successfuly uploaded, and no attachments for what I saw. I am still continuing to try and get the image on that post and figure what is the problem and I do apologize for no image..... :( :( although I did get a quick error message but telling me about adding the file and I clicked open and error message so I ignored it thinking it was added but I was wrong I'm trying to open the image and it is really really frustrating  sure I tried 3 times but I'll keeeeep on trying until it is uploaded

Are you using Tinypics or photo bucket. You cant upload a pic straight from the PC. The picture needs to be reformatted
