Can we define exactly how he is spawnkilling? I know this is a hot topic and I'm not trying to start a riot but we have repeatedly discussed that Enigma does not endorse a blanket ban on spawnkilling. The "general agreement" (correct me if I'm wrong Slender or other co-admins) is that it is okay to spawnkill if:
1) on approach toward a base/carrier before you have bombed with the intent to bomb
2)immediately after bombing, if you have a teammate closely following who has not yet bombed it is okay to keep an opponent pinned down 2 or 3 times
It is always NOT okay to spawnkill when:
1)You are sitting over a base/carrier and you have killed multiple opponents without giving them a chance to get off the ground simply to gain points
2)You are in a tank, sitting by a base with no intent to destroy hangers (or in a Dogfight game with no hangers to destroy) - I would state (and I am pretty sure that it was agreed on by the leaders of this squad) that you are allowed to take out a plane on the runway in a tank if your goal is to destroy hangers and you are strategically doing this to increase your chances of destroying hangers
Gray zones:
Nobody has ever agreed on how long you have to wait to shoot someone to determine if spawnkilling vs non-spawnkilling. My rule (these are suggestions, not official unless Slender wants to make them official)
- Group captain and higher - once they're off the ground = fair game
- Less than group captain - I give varied amount of time based on rank, plane they are flying, and how skilled I think they are. If they are low ranked but have shot me down a bunch, I will give them less time than a higher ranked player. If they are in a slow plane I know I can outmaneuver, I will give them more time etc.
Also, in true "Dogfight" games - I often kill even low ranked players very quickly because I know they will have the opportunity to get off the ground once they spawn elsewhere, and if I don't do it somebody else will
Enough of my rambling, if I have missed something or stated something incorrectly please let me know.
