We used a lot of state-of-the art medical equipment.

One of the best (and tough) jobs in the Navy -- as the Marines have no medical personal and usually require medics to be present with them. (I'm not telling you this Luna, just for those who don't know. I realize you know this already. )

If I were to join the US Navy (which is what branch I'd go into no matter what), I too would be a Corpsman. Good on you.

I was actually just about to hit they hammock.

I got about 2-3 hours of game time today. Had fun playing, I'm hoping to do the same next weekend.

I lost one of those aerial battles last night that took about 40 minutes. Damn.

It was glorious, however, as we stood fast while hopelessly outnumbered. Only one other pilot decided to stay with me. Both of us were shot down several times as the knaves swirled about our air base until I finally I broke free and shredded a bogey coming back in for the kill. He never saw it coming. And let me tell you, some just feel better than others. The other pilot and I then staved off the attack, getting shot down and shooting down until the reds cleared out. I’m guessing they had to go reload after shooting all their bullets on us. So we took advantage and gathered ourselves to push the attack but the swirling names and hail of machine gun fire from the reds was too much for us handle; and were taken down quickly. Fortunately, we were able to spawn before “reds” were upon us. This time we were able to shoot a few more down; but again, overwhelmed as we were both shot down again. We spawned again but this time they were upon us again. I was spawn killed at least 4 times in a row then shot out of the air another 4 times as my wheels left the ground – it never bothers me though. Then finally I break free again, and I quickly smoke two bogies as they turn; I have to say that those two kills were mostly luck at that point. But then help arrives, Stormbringerfast joins our side. Except we only have one base left. Some of the reds start to bug-out as we are now have a force to contend with. Victory can surely be had. But then from the corner of my cockpit I see a dive bomber plummeting right toward our last base. I’m far away so I release my bomb and take pursuit: Take aim; release my breath; lead my target; and fire. Perfect shot! Smoke starts to burst out of the plane. I continue the firing but cannot pull my sites back onto this sucker after he starts rolling...Then poof. Game over. All in all I got shot down about 25 times but was able to take about 20 of my own. It was a glorious loss and true to the Enigma Spirit: I stayed loyal to the bitter end.

You have quite a way with words! An excellent storyteller! Really. It felt like a mini-novel, what I was reading right there.

I noticed how you switched from 1st Person Past, to 1st Person Present on the part when it started to get suspenseful. It totally achieved that effect on me.

the pilot started the game as an aspirant and ended with I think Level 4

They made off with more than 30 kills and had excellent long range head to head shot.

clearly this was no typical aspirant but a seasoned veteran.
